She didn't have to think twice or utter a single word after those threatening words left his mouth. In a blink, she was in the bathroom, the warm water running over her as she quickly bathed. Her mind still raced, but she obeyed without question.
When she finished, a night robe had been laid out neatly on the edge of the bed. Kaive was still there, standing quietly.
"Well… if I were going to change into those, it wouldn't be in front of you," she said despite the heat rising to her cheeks.
He met her gaze silently for a moment, the weight in his eyes betraying his exhaustion. Then he pointed toward a small curtain at the side of the room.
"Change there," he said, his voice carrying the edge of fatigue, the kind that came from worrying over His Royalty Ziven's health.
