Sobbing… then sniffed again.
She wiped at her tears, her hands shaking, finally slowing the flow enough that her cheeks were damp but no longer soaked.
"It's okay, Eirene." Ziven said, trying to calm her, but she only shook her head slightly... Unable to stop the embarrassment from building inside her.
They were in her room now. She felt exposed, and humiliated, just remembering how everyone had seen her like this... speechless and trembling. The thought of the maids and guards watching her from now on made her felt disrespected.
Ziven's presence didn't comfort her as much as she had hoped, and she turned her gaze downward.
"It's not fair for His Royalty Dagr to embarrass me like that." Eirene cried. Fresh tears sliding down her cheeks, as she wiped them away and sniffled again.
