Subject 13 slept peacefully until he heard a very familiar voice. "Wake up Subject 13, we still have some work to do."
13's eyes opened wide but he did not move. He was still a little groggy from the whatever the woman Doctor Kline was her name, injected him with. 13 remembered everything up to him blacking out, and now it looks like he was in a different room.
Okay Jasen remember your training. Assess you situation and surroundings, and gather information before making any big decisions. Your in a place you don't recognize and apparently it's the year 2158. Oh and the most important factor, I'm a 30 year old man in a fucking child's body. The woman said I was four years old. So I'm either having a very horrible lucid dream or I was just transmigrated to another world.
The only things I can say seem familiar are the clothes these scientist are wearing. They look futuristic but very simple, and that orange holographic device on the doctors arm seemed so familiar but I can't remember why.
Then Kline's voice broke through my inner thoughts as she spoke again. this time slightly louder.
"Subject 13, I know you are awake. I would suggest you sit up and listen to me before I have to get creative." Kline said with her hands behind her back.
Damn this woman is colder then ice. But I should play along and be obedient until I can make my move.
Jasen sat up and turn towards Kline, who had a cold expressionless gaze on her face.
"Hello Subject 13, How are you feeling."
I paused before answering. I didn't know what I could say in this moment, but I knew I had to say something.
"I am fine Doctor. I don't remember anything past me blacking out."
"I see well that does make sense. From my readings you had a mild panic attack which caused your biotic abilities to spike out of control. Something we will be doing our best to avoid in the future."
Wait she did just say biotic abilities, like from the Mass Effect series?
"Excuse me doctor. What do you mean by my biotic abilities?" I asked so I can get some clarity on that statement.
Kline raised her hand and a blue glow enveloped it. "Biotics are individuals with the ability to manipulate mass effect fields using Element Zero (eezo) nodules in their nervous systems, which allows them to exert telekinetic and gravitational-like powers."
Kline then looked at me with my confused expression. Then she remembered she was talking to a child and sighed.
"People who can lift and move things with space energy." She said speaking to 13.
Jasen was surprised to hear the statement on so many different levels. But he tried to keep his mind from spiraling. The revelation of being in one of the most dangerous science fiction action drama's took a back seat after how this woman was talking to him.
"Doctor I understood what you meant. So please do not treat me like I'm retarded just because I'm a child."
Kline gaze narrowed on Subject 13. She then slowly walked up to the small child and slapped him.

Jasen grabbed his face in surprise from the Doctor's actions.
"Let me be very clear subject 13. You will watch your mouth while in my facility and in my presence. That means no foul or derogatory language of any kind will be tolerated. Do I make myself clear." She said with finality in her tone.
Jasen flared with anger but decided to calm himself. Remember Jasen be patient. This bitch will get hers one day. Act the role and gather information.
Jasen breathed in and out calmly. "Yes doctor Kline I understand and I apologize for my language from earlier."
Kline just observed his body language. She could tell he was angry for a split second and then chose to calm down. Not out of fear but necessity. So subject 13 is capable of making sound decisions under a certain level of stress. I will have to test how by how much later on. Kline thought to herself.
Jasen saw how the woman looked at him. He knew those eyes anywhere. Those are the analytical eyes of someone who waits and watches closely before making a move.
"Well Subject 13 let's get to work." She said placing a apple on the desk across the room from him. "I want you to move the apple over to you using your biotics."
Jasen looked at her with an annoyed look. "Doctor how do I do that?"
Use seriously told a child to do something without explaining how to lady.
Kline sighed as she lowered her hand as she had her omni tool ready to record data. " I will say try searching yourself for a feeling. A build of power in your body. A strong pull towards something or a vibrating sensation in your body." She said standing close to me.
I breathed in and out slowly and closed my eyes to focus. I search myself for any of these feelings she spoke of. I felt a build of power in my body start to slowly rise from within me.
Kline's eyes narrowed. She felt the air shift around Subject 13 as he concentrated, and she felt the air around the apple shift as well. Kline activated her omni tool ready to record 13's brain waves and video footage.
Jasen's mind began to focus. He remember what the biotic aura looked like from the games and began to imagine it surrounding his body.
After a moment Jasen's body was surrounded by a purple glow as it enveloped his body. The glow shift and moved like a star radiating heat. Jasen continued to focus as he imagined lifting up the apple in the air and bringing it over to himself.
The same purple glow enveloped the apple as it began to lift in the air and it started to move slowly toward subject 13. Kline's eyes narrowed in amazement. She looked at 13's brainwave activity and couldn't believe what she was seeing.
Jasen on the other hand opened his eyes to see the purple glow of eezo enveloping him and the apple. He then noticed the apple levitating in the air in front of him. While still trying to keep his current feeling he tried pulling the apple towards him.
But the apple didn't move another inch. Jasen noticing focus harder while imagining pulling harder on the apple. But nothing continued to happen. Kline was too busy reading the data she was collecting to notice what was going on.
Then Jasen suddenly stopped trying to pull the apple toward him and let go of the feeling. The purple eezo energy began to fade and then in a high pitch whoosh sound the apple that was in front of him disappeared.
Jasen's gazed narrowed in confusion. "What just happened?"
Kline's eyes lifted up from her omni tool and walked towards subject 13. She then scanned the room remembering she heard a whooshing sound a moment ago. That's when she saw it.
A tiny hole was in the wall behind subject 13. The two turned around and examined the hole.
"This is interesting. It seems the apple traveled through multiple reinforced metal walls." She then Look to Subject 13 with would could be considered a look of proudness on her face. "Well done subject 13, you really showed me something interesting today." Kline then spoke into her omni tool.
'Team this is Dr Kleins I need a head count we had a incident with subject 13. Is everyone okay?"
Then one by one Jasen heard multiple voices speak up.
"Korgath here. I'm ok. I didn't hear or feel anything wrong. What happened this time?"
"Dr. Voran present. I have no abnormalities to report on my end. Please send me the report on the incident."
Matriarch Yelara here. "I am fine as well. And tell Subject 13 I said thank you for the apple, I was about to go get a snack and he saved me the trouble."
In Matriarch Yelara's room
Matriarch Yelara sat on a couch in her private room reading a book. Then she felt a shift in the air and instinctually placed up a biotic barrier. Just for moments later the barrier to barely stop a high speed object surrounded by red eezo energy.
A moment later Yelara dropped her barrier as she noticed it was a normal apple. "Now how did you get here?"
Then immediately Yelara's two Asari commando's came into the room scan and checking the room after feeling the Matriarch activate her biotics.
"Matriarch are you okay? One said as she scanned the room assessing the Matriarchs condition. Yelara just stared at the hole in the wall in front of her. She then saw the tiny hole in the wall and eye ball the apple to it.
"Matriarch?"
"Do not worry commander I am fine. Go back to your post." Yelara said with a small smile on her face as the two commando's left.
Back in the room with Dr. Kline and Subject 13
"If no one is hurt then disregard. I will submit the report to you all along with my data. Matriarch please meet me in my office I will be there shortly." Kline then looked at 13 with cold eyes. "We will call it here for the day subject 13." Kline said typing away at the interface of her omni tool not bothering to look at him.
Soon a large man came into the room. He had a large muscular build to him wearing a almost skin tight suit. He was Caucasian with brown eyes and had brown hair in a military fade. On his hip laid a utility bet, and on the said was a pistol. Jasen thought it looked just like the same blaster pistols from the games.
"This is Captain Stone. He is head of security in this facility. You will do as he says. Do I make myself clear."
Jasen looked to the doctor then to the captain, reading the vibe of the room. "Yes Doctor I understand."
"Good. He is in your care captain."
"You can leave him with me doctor." The captain said with a rough voice.
"Good night Subject 13 I will see you in the morning." Kline then walked out of the room and down the hallway without looking back.
I was now in the room with the almost intimidating man. I didn't know if he was the cliché type to beat on little kids for amusement or treat me like shit while acting like a drill instructor.
"Subject 13" He said.
"Yes sir?"
The captain looked down at me with intense eyes. I was waiting and hoping it wasn't gonna hurt, whatever he was planning on doing. Then he spoke again.
"Calm down kid."
Huh?"
"No need for all that sir stuff kid, just call me captain. Look I just have to get you ready for bed. I'm gonna take you to the chow hall, the showers and lay you down for some sleep. How does that sound? And if your good I will sneak you a dessert." He said with a smile on his face.
Oh my god he is nice to me. Compared to that bitch of a woman he is a breath of fresh air in this place.
"I like the sound of that Captain." I said with a calm expression. I untensed my body and breathed normally.
"Glade to hear it. Let's go." He said as the door hissed opened.
Up above from Kline's office stood Matriarch Yelara viewing subject 13 from the viewing glass. She had a glass cup of the alien liquor in her hand as she sipped on it. Just then Doctor Kline walked in as the door hissed opened. She saw the bottle on the table and the Asari Matriarch by the window.
"What have I told you Matriarch about touching my things without permission?" She said walking in as the door hissed shut behind her.
Yelara turned around another glassed in her opposite hand. and she gestured it to Kline. " I will remember that for next time doctor. I still remember a time when I didn't have to ask to touch your things." She said as she sipped more of the liquid.
Kline just stared at the Matriarch as she accepted the glass. "Things have change Yelara." Kline said as she stared at the blue liquid in the glass. Her mind on the distant past.
"I guess they have, and there's nothing we can do to change that. But enough about the past, let's talk about the boy. So tell me what happened?"
'See for yourself." Kline says as she activated her omni tool and transmits the recorded data to Yelara's omni tool. Yelara spent several minutes reviewing the data and the footage.
"This is amazing, I never seen a biotic on his level." Yelera said.
Kline just leaned against the wall observing Yerlera every action from her body language to her facial expressions.
"How are you Yelara?... Are you hurt anywhere?"
"I am fine. I put up my barrier at the right time. If I had been a second late then I might not be here right now. But I did notice one thing about the apple." She said picking it up and holding it in her hand. "Unlike from the footage it wasn't surrounded by a purple eezo field like it was before."
"What do you mean?"
"When the apple hit the barrier it wasn't damaged in anyway and was surrounded by a red glow."
Kline's eyes narrowed. "Red?"
Yelara nodded. "Yes. I believe subject 13 has been able to access a new version of element zero or discovered a new way to use it. Either way this is a huge discovery."
Kline's eyes narrowed as she was in deep thought. New form of element zero. New Biotic techniques. More data is needed before any conclusion are made.
"Okay Yelara. I will have the apple examined for the traces of element zero and report back what I find. "
"By the way Doctor. Why is it that when we are in a group you refer to me as Matriarch, but when we are alone you call me Yelara?"
Kline just stood and took the glass out of Yelara's hand. "Thank you for your report Matriarch. I will follow up with subject 13's progress in 48 hours."
Yelara just smiled as she stood up. "Fine you don't have to say it I understand. Goodnight Evelyn." Yelara said with the door hissing closed behind her.
Kline finished her cup before going to the viewing window to observe Subject 13 as he slept.
Jasen laid on his bed with the lights off. His mind was to active to go to sleep. He was in the Mass effect universe or maybe some version of it. He was actually here. And in that moment it all hit him. The reapers will be coming here. What he remember faintly from the games was that the events of Mass Effect 1 took place in the year 2183. With Eden prime and the beacon being the first starting point.
Right now the year is 2158 which mean I have 25 years until those event's happen and 2186 being when Earth is invaded. Speaking of which I don't know where I am. I could be on Earth or any planet in the galaxy. Since they are doing human experimentation it has to be somewhere isolated.
I have to get out of here somehow. I just hope I am somewhere with a civilization. Otherwise I will die here once they get what they want from me. Speaking of which what organization is running this thing. I don't know if it's the Alliance. But Cerberus seems like the best conclusion considering their history. But its 2158 I wonder if they were disavowed by the Alliance yet?
Well at least I have biotics in this world. And from what I saw earlier with the apple really strong biotics. I will pay attention, bide my time and grow stronger. Then I will get out of here. If I'm lucky I will be able to enlist in the Alliance since I'm use to the military lifestyle from my old life. Or head to Omega where someone like Aria will treat me well there.
Jasen then curled into a ball as he tried to sleep. I have to survive this, no I will survive this. Just watch yourself Doctor. I will show you who the real subject is.
