Detective Miller pulled out a handheld radio, as he called for a backup unit to the front gate. He turned his attention back to Jae-Hyun.
"Mr. Kim," Miller started, his voice devoid of the sympathy he had shown Kendella only moments ago. "Based on the digital logs and the visual confirmation of a Delacroix security vehicle at the scene of the execution... I'm going to need you to come down to the station with us. Now."
Jae-Hyun's posture remained rigid, his jaw tight. He didn't look at the detective. His eyes were glued to Kendella, who was still standing by the mahogany desk, her fingers white-knuckled as she clutched the black ledger to her chest.
"I haven't left this estate since the funeral," Jae-Hyun said, his voice steady despite the storm brewing in the room. "The keys to the armored fleet are tracked. If a car left, someone bypassed the system."
