Chapter 43 - Chapter 43: Two-Pronged Approach

Chapter 43: Two-Pronged Approach

"Brian, guard the door well—I'll give you a raise in a couple of days!"

Chris followed Marcus and Hank, who were walking ahead, each carrying three cases of dragon blood beverage.

Chris alone carried eight cases, four in each hand, and was still perfectly steady.

The three of them, in one go, took enough beverages to win over all the school's athletes.

As they reached the exit, Chris painted a rosy picture for Brian, who was bored and wagging his tail in the security booth, so the dog would work harder.

Hearing Chris's promise, Brian's tail wagged even more vigorously, but he said skeptically, "I hope so! I'm looking forward to getting paid and having a drink at the Drunken Clam."

"Haha, you'll get the chance!"

After putting the dragon blood beverage in the trunk, Chris waved at Brian and then drove away.

After returning to school, Chris instructed Marcus and Hank on the specific procedures, and then took them to recruit new members.

With the powerful effects of the dragon blood beverage, in just one day, most of the school's athletes had joined the crew Chris had formed.

At first, some people suspected that the dragon blood beverage Chris gave them was some new type of steroid or performance enhancer, but after Chris subtly demonstrated his strength and then let them try it themselves, these guys were immediately hooked on the dragon blood beverage.

After all, one bottle could keep a person energized all day long, with absolutely no side effects—just like a magic potion from a fantasy novel.

With these more than two hundred truly trustworthy direct followers, even if all those thugs bailed on him, Chris would still become Student Council President.

Because these school athletes weren't quite like those school bullies. Among the hundred or so thugs, only a few were presentable, and only one—Bryan—could offer Chris substantial help.

However, most of these 200-plus gym regulars held positions.

They were either Student Council assistants, Student Council officers, or class representatives, and they made up the majority.

After all, in America, to hold certain positions, the most important thing was to have a sufficiently strong and athletic physique.

This would leave a good impression on those who selected you.

So with the support of these people, even if the incumbent president chose to repeat senior year, he would no longer be able to serve as Student Council President.

In the school gym, Chris stood in front of the cable crossover machine, holding up a dragon blood beverage and saying, "I'm entrusting my campaign to all of you. I can guarantee that everyone here, as long as I'm Student Council President, will receive one bottle of dragon blood beverage for free every two days!"

"Long live President Chris!"

"We love you, Chris!"

"Chris! Chris!"

"President! President!"

The moment Chris finished speaking, everyone present raised their dragon blood beverage and drank it down.

With abundant energy and Chris's promise, everyone immediately cheered happily.

There was nothing they could do—incentives worked.

Although Chris didn't directly give them money, he gave them something even more valuable.

That was health, something even money could hardly buy!

Although Chris clearly stated that this product would be available for purchase at five dollars in two days if they were willing to wait.

But everyone knew that as soon as this product hit the market, everyone who knew its effects would rush to buy it.

In the early stages of limited production, it would be difficult for ordinary students like them, who didn't have much money, to get it.

According to their best estimate, it would be at least three months before they could buy it.

They might not even be able to get it then.

Because wealthy people would hoard the supply, especially such a miraculous beverage beneficial to the human body—it would be even more worth fighting for and stockpiling.

So instead of waiting an unknown amount of time to buy it, it was better to acknowledge this boss and get to drink this good stuff for free right away.

After everyone adapted to their energized state and regained some rationality, Chris gestured for them to quiet down.

Then he pulled out Marcus and Hank, pointed at them, and said, "You guys register with them later, and also get your drinks from them. When I'm not around, they are the vice presidents of our Griffin Fitness Club."

"Got it, boss!" "Okay, president!"

Seeing everyone agree, Chris nodded and then dismissed them.

Then Chris instructed Marcus and Hank, "You two go to the factory to pick up supplies every two days—remember to keep records at the factory. Then distribute them one by one, and also remember to keep records."

"Got it, boss!" "Yep!"

Looking at the two guys' dazed expressions, Chris didn't care if they had actually remembered. Anyway, this was just a small matter and wouldn't affect his master plan.

This also served as a good way to test if these two were reliable, to avoid them causing problems for him in the future.

After instructing the two, Chris left the gym and went to the school entrance to wait for Lois to pick him up.

Meanwhile, Meg had already arrived there. Their senior year was nearing graduation, so school ended earlier for them.

"Hey, Meg! Did you go check out the beverage factory? It's already operating normally."

Seeing Chris approach, Meg looked around, didn't find her group of backstabbing friends, then took off her headphones and replied, "No, my senior project isn't finished yet—I don't have time to deal with anything else."

"Senior project? What's so difficult about that? You're now a major investor in a beverage company. Just make up some data, submit it, and then rework Coca-Cola's business model, and you're good to go!"

"Can you really do that?" Meg asked in surprise. She hadn't thought of doing it that way.

Chris asked back, exasperated, "Otherwise, what do you want to do? Actually write an honest plan? Don't be ridiculous—that won't impress anyone."

"If all else fails, just go find West and have him write you a letter of recommendation. Then you can completely ignore that jerk Principal Shepherd."

"Uh, let me think about it!"

She hadn't expected that something she found so difficult was so simple in Chris's eyes, and there was even more than one way to solve it.

This made Meg very discouraged, because she was the eldest daughter of the Griffin Family.

Looking at Meg, who had fallen into self-pity, Chris shook his head with exasperation. This girl was still too naive!

If it were the Meg who had done time in prison, she probably wouldn't have these worries at all.

Unfortunately, that kind of thing wouldn't happen in this world. After all, as a shareholder of Debraude Company, Chris would not allow negative publicity to appear among the company's executives.

The two waited for a moment, then saw Lois drive up, explaining as she parked, "Sorry, kids! The Stop & Shop had a huge sale, and I took a bit too long shopping."

Listening to Lois's explanation, Chris sat in the passenger seat and said casually, "It's fine, Mom. Let's go home!"

After Meg also silently got into the back seat, Lois started the car and drove away.
