Chapter 109 - Chapter 109: Stewie's Crisis

Chapter 109: Stewie's Crisis

After some very Ork-like and completely unscientific operations in Chris's opinion, a sci-fi gun, perfectly sized for his hand, was handed to him.

Examining the new toy in his hand, Chris was a bit skeptical if it was the same bolter gun as the Space Marines used.

After all, the production method of this thing was way too weird, but with this object to distract him, Chris no longer dwelled on the matter of Peter and Lois going at it.

Stewie, however, still looked dazed, unable to snap out of it for a long time.

Chris took the bolter gun and went to the control panel. With the press of a button, a portal appeared on the wall, and after walking through it, he arrived in a massive room.

This was a place Stewie had created to test weapon power and Chris's strength.

Now was a good time to get familiar with the effects of the bolter gun.

After all, there was a significant gap between Chris's and Stewie's understanding, and who knew if Stewie had slipped in any custom modifications when making this gun.

The bolter gun Chris knew was a weapon from the Warhammer 40K universe, its power varying with different ammunition, but its maximum power was only comparable to a grenade launcher or similar, not overly exaggerated.

But if Stewie had added some crazy stuff during manufacturing, Chris couldn't guarantee the scale of the weapon's power in his hand.

So, for his own peace of mind in future use, Chris still needed to get familiar with the gun's power.

Raising the bolter gun in his hand, Chris aimed at a steel cube several meters thick in front of him, curled his finger, and squeezed the trigger.

A recoil that could shatter an ordinary person was transmitted from the firearm, then easily absorbed by Chris's body.

Immediately following, a thunderous roar came from the steel cube, and amidst the explosion, the originally solid steel cube was blown to smithereens.

The resulting crater, nearly a meter deep, was large enough for Chris to curl up inside.

Seeing such power, Chris nodded to himself. Stewie had definitely souped up this weapon.

Otherwise, according to the bolter gun's specs in Warhammer, achieving such power would either require the Machine Spirit's blessing or a Chaos God's favor.

However, in this world, Chris didn't need to worry about such things.

After understanding the weapon's power, Chris casually put it into his wristband storage.

He planned to learn some marksmanship when he had time, preferably the legendary Gun Kata, and then show off properly.

Otherwise, with Chris's current strength, the power of this gun wasn't as high as the damage he could inflict with a casual punch.

Casually determining the future fate of this powerful weapon, Chris walked out of the training room and approached Stewie.

At this moment, the little guy was still spaced out, looking utterly lost.

This puzzled Chris, as he remembered Stewie knew a thing or two about the birds and the bees.

He'd even encouraged him to do some sketchy things to Bonnie back then.

So, seeing Stewie in such a state because of Peter and Lois getting it on, Chris couldn't help but suspect if this guy was plotting something against him again.

However, after repeated observation, Chris found that things didn't seem so simple.

"Hey, Stewie, you okay?"

Chris placed his hand on Stewie's forehead and used his psychic ability to soothe the little guy.

When Chris's consciousness entered Stewie's brain, he found it to be as vast as a starry sky, and he couldn't find Stewie's main consciousness at all.

Seeing that this method wasn't working, Chris withdrew from Stewie's consciousness space and instead sat cross-legged in front of him.

"Alright, bro, look at me!"

Chris straightened Stewie, making him look into his eyes, and asked with a serious face, "Tell me, what exactly is wrong with you? Is there anything I can do?"

This direct external communication method indeed had some effect, and a faint glimmer appeared in Stewie's empty eyes.

Then his lips trembled, "Absurd... void... meaningless. The world was born because of me, but I don't need this world."

With each word Stewie uttered, Chris's face grew a shade more grim, until Stewie finished speaking, and Chris's face was dark as storm clouds.

Although he didn't know the exact reason, Chris, relying on his extensive knowledge and currently sharp analytical mind, quickly deduced Stewie's current predicament.

It might be due to the exposure to Megan's Old God essence, or perhaps he was freaked out by Peter's animalistic display.

This caused some inherent essence within Stewie himself to become restless, gradually leading to a situation where divinity was overwhelming his humanity.

After realizing Stewie's problem, Chris began to brainstorm solutions.

With his current strength and abilities, he obviously couldn't directly help Stewie regain his humanity.

But fortunately, Chris was a Dimension Hopper, and the greatest advantage of Dimension Hoppers was that they acquired a ton of information during their travels.

This information was either learned before dimension hopping or captured by himself during the jumps.

In any case, it allowed Dimension Hoppers to possess some abilities beyond their own status.

Just like now, although Chris couldn't directly help Stewie, among the information he knew, there was more than one indirect way to help.

Moreover, with another old guy who had lost his humanity but regained it as a reference, Chris could even directly learn from his experience.

Chris hugged Stewie tightly and commanded, "Jump dimensions, any universe, take my brother with me!"

This was the first time Chris had actively used his dimension-hopping ability since awakening it.

His previous several jumps were either forced or triggered by Stewie's technology; in any case, he'd never actively requested it like this.

So Chris himself was unsure if his ability could perfectly achieve his intentions according to his will.

However, as Chris felt a connection and the surrounding environment began to shift, he breathed a sigh of relief; his ability could indeed be used this way.

Looking at the grimy surroundings, Chris patted Stewie and said, "I don't know if this'll work, but that old drunk next door gradually regained his humanity through adventures with his grandson.

And my abilities are limited, so I can only throw a Hail Mary here, hoping this method works for you too."

As he spoke, Chris stared intently into Stewie's eyes, noticing that the flicker of intelligence in them hadn't increased, but also hadn't continued to fade.

Taking that as a good sign that this method was working, Chris then turned to consider which universe he'd landed in.

If it was a universe he was familiar with, that would be perfect; he could then take Stewie to participate in some shenanigans there, providing Stewie with more emotional stimulation.

If it wasn't a universe he knew, then Chris would just have to wing it and see if he could bring Stewie some entertainment.

Having made a preliminary plan, Chris placed Stewie on his shoulder and then walked out of the filthy alley.
