Chapter 128: Introducing Myself
When the plane landed smoothly at the special airport in Washington D.C., Chris immediately opened his eyes.
Ever since he assimilated the life essence of five Wendigos, Chris often felt a mental pressure from his body.
However, this feeling only appeared on a spiritual level and had no impact on his daily life, so Chris occasionally thought it was just his imagination.
But after absorbing the orange essence of fate, Chris felt much more relaxed mentally, confirming that the previous feeling of his body oppressing his mind was not an illusion, but a real phenomenon.
Although it had eased for now, Chris knew this issue still harbored hidden dangers.
If he were to absorb more life essences that strengthen the physique in the future, it would still lead to his physical body oppressing his mind.
Alternatively, absorbing spiritual essences could lead to his mind oppressing his physical body, and so on; all these scenarios were possible.
So during the brief rest he had, Chris also realized that in the future, when hunting monsters for essences, he would need to distinguish the types of monsters to avoid another imbalance.
Currently, he was still very weak, and this imbalanced state was resolved as soon as it appeared.
Therefore, Chris didn't know what consequences would arise if it became severe, but from all perspectives, it wouldn't be good.
Thus, for the sake of his own life, Chris changed his approach; this time, violence couldn't solve the problem.
Otherwise, killing too many people—calculating based on human life essence where physical growth accounts for the majority—exceeding 100,000 people would cause him to experience the problem of his physical body oppressing his mind again.
Thinking of this, Chris felt a bit of regret; he shouldn't have stolen Wesley's kills earlier.
If it weren't for those hundreds of gray-white essences, he could still add another 50,000 people to his quota.
However, since things were already this way, Chris stopped overthinking and got up to prepare to exit the plane.
As soon as he reached the plane door, Chris saw an old man who was both familiar and unfamiliar.
This man had a wide face and small eyes, with brown hair already largely covered in gray, standing prominently at the front of the crowd, showing a gentle smile as he looked at Chris.
Looking at Bush Jr., who appeared older than in his own world, Chris grinned widely and quickly walked down the stairs to his side.
"I almost forgot—you're still in office this year. By my calculations, it should be your last year, right?"
Hearing Chris's overly familiar words, Bush Jr. and the high-ranking officials behind him in Washington D.C. were stunned; this wasn't in any of their previous rehearsals!
Fortunately, everyone present was a political elite, tough characters who had fought their way up in the power structure.
Led by Bush Jr., they instantly switched to the most fitting rehearsal version and smiled at Chris, saying, "Haha, by your tone, are we old friends in another world?"
"Hmm?" Chris frowned, causing the hearts of these officials to tense up, fearing any conflict.
After all, not to mention Chris's indirectly displayed physical strength, the mere fact that he could travel from other worlds to theirs already proved he possessed technology far beyond their imagination.
So to ensure Earth's safety and their own safety, they truly did not want to piss off Chris.
However, contrary to their wild speculation, Chris wasn't angry; he just realized he might have underestimated them.
"Didn't you confirm my identity? My brother and I should be pretty easy to identify."
Chris took Stewie from Wesley's hand, pointed at his football-shaped head, and asked curiously.
Bush Jr. looked at the Chief of Staff beside him in confusion, but found the other person was also bewildered; clearly, the think tank experts hadn't come up with any results.
Seeing Bush Jr. still hadn't guessed who he was, Chris prompted him again, "My name is Chris, and this is my brother Stewie. Does that ring a bell?"
"Hehe, do you think people their age would watch cartoons like Family Guy?" Stewie chuckled. With a super enforcer like Chris around, he increasingly enjoyed revealing his identity in other worlds.
Following Stewie's hint, the think tank immediately locked onto the clue, then the earpiece Bush Jr. was wearing vibrated slightly, and he said with an uncertain tone, "You are... the Griffin brothers?"
"Bingo!" Chris smiled and nodded, giving a thumbs-up.
When Chris confirmed this identity, Bush Jr. and the other high-ranking officials remained calm, but the think tank behind them was losing their minds.
"Is this God playing a joke? Why are two cartoon characters appearing in our world!"
"Quick, quick, I need all information on Family Guy, and a personality profile analysis of these two guys."
"Forget all that! I've seen that show; the characters in it have no logic, they're just crazy. Any personality analysis you do will be useless!"
"Then what do you suggest we do! Just sit on our asses?"
The think tank analysis room was in chaos. Although they'd previously determined Chris might be from another world, they hadn't considered him coming from animated shows they were familiar with.
After all, Chris's physique and appearance were too different from the cartoon. Even after being re-cartoonized, he had distinct differences from the original Chris.
Not to mention now, after being realistic, it was even harder to connect him with the characters in the show.
So now that Chris had revealed his identity, all their previous theories collapsed and were no longer useful.
Of course, not everyone thought Chris was lying, believing everything now was a disguise.
However, some of them had watched the Family Guy cartoon, so when Chris introduced himself and they compared it with the existing information, they instantly realized Chris's statement was more believable than all their previous theories.
Precisely because of this, those who'd watched Family Guy were particularly freaked out.
Because they knew the show's logic, they understood what would happen to humans in a normal world when facing those cartoon characters.
But despite the panic, work still had to be done.
"This Chris looks very different; he should be a variant of the standard Chris. We can try to communicate with him."
"His attitude toward his brother is also very different; they weren't that close in the cartoon. Stewie might also be a variant, but we can't let our guard down."
"Inform the President to communicate normally for now, and avoid too much probing to prevent pissing off the target."
After a brief discussion, the strategy for dealing with Chris was conveyed to Bush Jr.'s ears for him to choose and adopt.
Listening to the chaotic voices, Bush Jr. pondered for a moment and asked directly, "So is this another crazy adventure started by your brother? What's your purpose this time?"
Through brief contact, Bush Jr. felt Chris wasn't as unhinged as the think tank described, so he decided to trust his own judgment.
Stewie, who was mentioned by him, tilted his head and looked at him, not explaining that this adventure wasn't initiated by him.
Chris smiled and shook his head, then sighed, "It's a long story. Let's find a place to sit down and talk properly."
Hearing this, Bush Jr. patted his head and laughed, "Oh man, I'm losing it—I forgot my manners as a host."
Saying that, he took Chris's wrist and led him toward the VIP reception room.
