David's back slams against marble. The wolf-beast's jaws snap inches from his throat, drool sizzling where it lands. Close eyes. Water.
He thrusts both palms forward. WHOOSH. A geyser erupts from thin air, blasting the creature across the corridor. It crashes, skids, then snarls and charges again.
David snatches the water-bending scroll, sprinting barefoot into the moonlit courtyard. "Where that wizard dey?!"
The beast leaps. David's eyes catch a hand-sign diagram—two fingers curled, wrist twisted. He mirrors it. SPLASH. A pressurized wave slams the beast mid-air, hurling it ten meters.
"Wow—I fit do this!" David gasps, water still spiralling from his fingertips.
CUT TO: IDC Abuja – War Room
Chika stands before a holographic map. Six glowing Zodiac sigils pulse over northern Nigeria.
Superior #1: "You sure Scorpio won't be a problem?"
Chika: "I'm his father."
Superior #2 (sharp): "Adopted father not his biological father. You will train him."
Chika's thought: I told the boy I'm not training him… ugh.
A comms officer bursts in. "Sir—Prince Awoyemi (Leo) secured. En route via
Helicopter."
Superior #1 grins. "Excellent. Six warriors already hold the north—demons ripping souls from bodies. We deploy the new batch once trained."
Superior #2: "Find the remaining four. Scorpio and Leo make eight. You have forty-eight hours."
Chika: "Understood."
Superior #1: "Bring Scorpio when he's ready—or when you're tired of babysitting."
Chika sighs, steps into a teleport circle, and vanishes.
BACK AT THE MANSION
The beast corners David against a fountain. Just as fangs gleam—
"DAVID!"
Chika materialises. Stinging light-ropes lash out, coiling the wolf's limbs. With a yank, the creature shrinks and is sucked back into the golden chest. The lid slams shut.
David collapses, panting. "Chika—you finally show!"
Chika wipes sweat from his brow. "Security dog. Forgot to warn you. You okay?"
David lifts trembling, water-coated hands. "I… controlled water. But next time—warn me before your house tries to eat me!!!"
