Chapter 288 - Failed

A light even more dazzling than the two stars Ahriman had thrown nearby burst forth.

The flagship belonging to daemon Primarch Magnus disintegrated under the intense Psyker tide. The gold and silver that formed the ship were transformed into pure energy under the scouring power of the Empyrean, and nine arcane foci, containing immense Psyker power, were exposed in the void.

In an instant, a vast tide surged in the Sea of Souls, spreading outwards in all directions, with the arcane foci as its core.

The mutant sorcerers on the Vengeful Spirit, responsible for detecting Warp currents for the ship, let out terrified howls. Several sorcerers' heads exploded, and after these sacrifices, Abaddon's flagship managed to stabilize itself in the tide.

This fallen Gloriana-class Battleship had long navigated the currents of the Warp, possessing extensive experience in dealing with its treacherous flows. Moreover, Abaddon was never stingy in offering sacrifices to the Empyrean.

The Macragge's Honour, which was fighting it, lacked this dark experience. Faced with the sudden Warp current, they found it difficult to control the ship, causing the Ultramarines' flagship to sway.

This made Abaddon overjoyed.

Originally, the two warships had been circling each other in a series of circular trajectories, always presenting their broadsides.

To enable void ships covered by a Geller Field to efficiently break through the tides of the Warp, most human warships were built with a long, blade-like shape.

This meant that, under normal circumstances, the broadside firepower of a warship was far superior to its bow. Battles between ships often involved broadside-to-broadside bombardment.

This implied that if, during a ship battle, one side could seize the opportunity to present its broadside to the enemy's bow, arranging the two ships in a T-formation, it would gain a huge advantage.

Because in this way, the enemy would only be able to use its bow cannons to face all of the friendly ship's broadside firepower, or launch a desperate charge with its ram.

Abaddon, seizing the moment when the Macragge's Honour's bow was unstable, quickly arced around to the front of the Macragge's Honour.

In an instant, the corrupted lances and macro cannons, imbued with Chaos energy, aimed at the Macragge's Honour.

Although defeat was already a foregone conclusion, severely damaging the Macragge's Honour before retreating was still a worthwhile endeavor—

"Hmm?"

Just a moment before Abaddon was about to give the firing order, their target, the Macragge's Honour, suddenly vanished from the battlefield.

More precisely, it seemed to flow like a liquid or silk, entering a tiny, almost imperceptible point during the ship battle.

Abaddon saw that figure.

Alexander—or rather, Saint Doraemon—was flying in mid-air, wearing a small propeller.

And the Macragge's Honour had entered the pocket on his belly.

Abaddon clenched the command throne, a look of wild joy in his eyes.

If destroying the Macragge's Honour was a decent enough achievement, then killing Alexander would be a great victory for Abaddon.

And now, Alexander was exposed to the Vengeful Spirit's ready-to-fire weaponry.

Even a Primarch could not withstand the broadside firepower of a Gloriana-class Battleship with just his flesh and blood.

Abaddon was about to order the cannons to fire.

If Khârn's axe hadn't suddenly been placed against his neck.

"If you blow him up, how are we going to settle scores with that son of a bitch Erebus?"

The daemon possessing Khârn cursed:

"Of course, the probability of you blowing him up isn't very high either. This is a genuine Warp deity, a contender for the Triple Domain."

"Don't lead the brothers to their deaths."

Khârn was noncommittal about what the daemon said.

But in his opinion, since that individual dared to stand in front of the Vengeful Spirit, which was about to unleash its firepower, he must have prepared a countermeasure.

And the Vengeful Spirit was already heavily damaged by the Nurgle's Garden plants. Taking such a risk now might mean losing even the chance to retreat.

Alexander held the Reflection Cloak in his hand, watching the Vengeful Spirit suddenly dive deeper into the Warp and disappear from his sight, and gently shook his head.

Abaddon was so cautious?

The Vengeful Spirit was already severely damaged by the Nurgle's Garden plants. If Alexander could use the Reflection Cloak to reflect the Vengeful Spirit's macro cannon and lance volley, it might completely destroy this blasphemous, evil Gloriana-class Battleship.

But Abaddon didn't take the bait. It seemed that after ten thousand years, he had grown a lot since the Great Crusade era and no longer fell for such tricks.

During the Siege of Terra, Dorn had deliberately exposed a weakness, severely tricking Abaddon and causing Abaddon to personally sacrifice a group of elite Horus' Sons.

However, the current harvest was also sufficient.

Magnus' Warp essence was being eroded by the bacteria released by Alexander, and a large amount of knowledge was being digested. He would eventually forget all his knowledge—this damage was inflicted upon his essence and was almost irreparable.

Even if Magnus tried to learn the knowledge he had forgotten, the bacteria in Magnus' book would devour any newly injected knowledge.

From then on, there would be no more Magnus, the King of Sorcerers, in the galaxy, only a red, one-eyed Ogryn.

And Ahriman, although Alexander let him go, this did not mean Alexander gained nothing from Ahriman.

Ahriman had already been exposed to the Tracking Image Mirror, and it would be impossible for him to escape Alexander's sight for all eternity.

As long as Alexander needed, he could directly go to Ahriman's presence through the anywhere door, then casually resurrect a few red word, and he could command Ahriman, the strongest psyker below a Primarch, at will.

Finally, the results from Guilliman's side.

Alexander quickly pulled out the anywhere door from his four-dimensional pocket, pushed it open, and stepped onto Guilliman's battlefield.

"Ugh!! Ah ah ah ah ah!!!"

As soon as he pushed the door open, Alexander heard an abstract wailing sound.

He silently watched Kairos and six other Greater daemons on the ground, continuously spewing out rainbow-colored viscous liquid.

Guilliman had severed Kairos' limbs with the Emperor's Sword, and the scorching Emperor's Fire prevented him from using Psyker powers to repair his body.

Of course, Alexander also doubted whether Kairos still had enough intelligence to do so.

His two heads stretched very long, his body constantly rolled, and he was covered in that rainbow-colored viscous liquid.

Damn it, how did Nurgle create such an abstract pathogen?

Shouldn't personality excretion be Slaanesh's domain?

Not only was Alexander's face twitching, but Guilliman's face beside him was also filled with silence.

He looked at the Emperor's Sword in his hand with a somewhat melancholy gaze, as if this sword, once belonging to the Emperor, was no longer clean.

Although the method of capturing him was extremely abstract, the value of Lord of Fate, Kairos Fateweaver was the highest among the four Chief Greater daemons, far surpassing Khorne's Angron.

The Chief Greater daemons of the other three gods could be re-selected or re-created at any time, and their strength would theoretically not differ too much, unless their luck was truly terrible, and none of their subordinates or newly created daemons were qualified.

But Tzeentch's was different; Lord of Fate, Kairos Fateweaver was truly unique.

In the Warp, there existed a being called the Well of Eternity.

The Well of Eternity was the center of reality, and the beginning and end of all time and space.

The Lord of Change, Tzeentch, coveted the power within it, longing to gain the ability to control all reality and the flow of destiny from the Well of Eternity.

But he himself did not dare to enter it, only daring to throw Greater daemons into it, letting them retrieve knowledge, prophecies, and revelations for him.

But among those daemons, only Kairos miraculously survived.

Kairos' body became hunched, his wings shriveled, he grew two mad heads, and gained the ability to see both past and future simultaneously from the Well of Eternity.

Even Tzeentch could not replicate this miracle, and Kairos thus became a unique existence.

And now Kairos...

"Knowledge... knowledge is all gone." Kairos stuck out his tongue and screeched.

Alexander couldn't help but show a look of disgust on his face.

Kairos was now completely Wasted (Wasted - 'ruined'), even more thoroughly than Magnus.

All his knowledge and consciousness had turned into those viscous rainbow-colored liquids and been expelled.

Alexander suppressed his revulsion and took a step back, waving his hand at Mephiston beside him, signaling him to use his Psyker powers to retrieve Kairos from his puddle of viscous liquid.

Mephiston nodded silently, extended his hand, and probed Kairos with Psyker energy, pulling the limbless Kairos out of the viscous liquid and dragging him through the air to Alexander's four-dimensional pocket.

Kairos' expression was blank, his body merely twitching unconsciously, as if he had completely lost his self-will.

Alexander opened the four-dimensional pocket, signaling Mephiston to stuff Kairos inside—

"Ga ga ah!!!!"

"Ay ya ya ah!!!!"

But just as he was about to be stuffed into the pocket, Kairos' body suddenly tensed, his two heads abruptly elongated, his eyes wide and round, staring intently at the abyssal four-dimensional pocket below him.

In an instant, Mephiston choked him with Psyker power, and Guilliman also suddenly rose, placing the Emperor's Sword against Kairos' neck.

"I saw it!"

"I remembered!"

"At the end of time and space, at the doomsday of reality and the Warp."

"On the day the Omnissiah, the eternal dragon, and the Dark King were born."

Kairos' two heads stared intently at the four-dimensional pocket, then suddenly shouted in unison:

"It was the Lord of Change who threw this pocket into the Well of Eternity, into the chaotic currents of time, space, and destiny."

"You failed! You failed! You failed! Everything is according to the plan!"
