Facing Alexander's question, Nessus' expression stiffened slightly.
The Alpha Legion was different from other Legions; it didn't just have one Primarch, but a pair of twin Primarchs, Alpharius and Omegon. This was one of the Alpha Legion's deepest secrets.
He instinctively wanted to conceal information about the Primarch Omegon, but after glancing at the Truth and Falsehood Divination Machine in Alexander's hand, Nessus' expression twitched.
This thing was practically the Alpha's archenemy.
Nessus initially thought it was some kind of lie detector, but after careful observation, he realized that this device seemed to judge the inherent truth or falsehood of a statement, ignoring all other conditions.
"I am not Omegon," Nessus could only answer truthfully.
The Truth and Falsehood Divination Machine popped up, confirming that Nessus was speaking correctly.
Alexander stroked his chin, seemingly pondering something.
"Then are you Beta?" Alexander continued to ask.
Beta, my foot!
Nessus grumbled internally. Where would the Alpha Legion get a Beta? They had and only had two Primarchs, Alpha and Omegon. How could there be a third, Beta?
"There is no Beta," Nessus said frankly.
He had wanted to confuse Alexander's understanding of the Alpha Legion, but that machine could judge—huh?
Nessus looked blankly at the Truth and Falsehood Divination Machine in Alexander's hand.
The Truth and Falsehood Divination Machine showed no reaction.
According to the observations just made, no reaction should mean there is no distinction between truth and falsehood, or it lies somewhere in between.
"There is no third Primarch named Beta in the Alpha Legion!" Nessus quickly declared, speaking more precisely and clearly to the Truth and Falsehood Divination Machine.
The Truth and Falsehood Divination Machine showed no reaction, indicating that Nessus' statement had no distinction between truth and falsehood.
This left Alexander, Sanguinius, and Guilliman stunned.
If there was no Beta, no third Primarch of the Alpha Legion, the Truth and Falsehood Divination Machine should have directly judged it as false.
But now, the Truth and Falsehood Divination Machine's judgment was that there was no distinction between truth and falsehood?
What did this mean?
Could there really be a Beta? But in form, it was somewhat different from a true Primarch?
Alexander was just trying it out casually.
After all, if there was a second, there could be a third; cutting off one head might cause two to grow.
But he didn't expect to make an unexpected discovery.
"There really is a Beta?!" Nessus was dumbfounded. "How in the world could there be a Beta?!"
As a high-ranking member of the Alpha Legion, he didn't even know their Legion had a third Primarch.
This left Nessus himself feeling a wave of confusion and bewilderment.
"There won't be a fourth Primarch called Gamma, will there?!" Nessus almost blurted out.
And then, the Truth and Falsehood Divination Machine still showed no reaction.
""
Whether it was Nessus, Alexander, Sanguinius, or Guilliman, all fell silent.
Four, how could there be four?
Nessus' face showed an expression of fear.
But he couldn't resist, and together with Alexander, he tested all the Greek letters.
Ultimately, it was confirmed that, apart from Alpharius, Beta, Gamma, and Omegon, all others were judged as non-existent.
However, the judgment for Beta and Gamma was that there was no distinction between truth and falsehood.
Did that mean they could be said to exist, or could be said not to exist?
This made it very strange.
Alexander thought for a moment; the simplest method would be to ask the Emperor directly when he possesses Nobita later.
After all, he created all the Primarchs; wouldn't he know how many there were?
Nessus was still in a state of bewilderment and confusion.
As an Alpha, he had already accepted the various secrets, concealments, and unknowables within the Legion.
But suddenly having two more 'fathers'… even for Nessus, an Alpha, it was a bit mind-boggling.
"How should he be dealt with?" Alexander asked Guilliman.
Guilliman looked at Nessus, thinking for about two or three seconds.
"Didn't he claim to be loyal?"
"Then let him make some contributions to the Imperium."
"The Adeptus Administratum has purged too many traitors and daemons; many tasks are left undone."
"I think he's very suitable. Let him do it."
Alexander couldn't help but nod, saying with approval:
"Since the Alphas have arrived, let the birds, snakes, and changelings of Chaos, those big beasts, all rest."
Nessus suddenly sobered up, looking at Guilliman and Alexander with a hint of fear.
"Don't think about suicide," Sanguinius reminded with a slight smile. "My Lord Saint Doraemon is the God of Death for both humans and Eldar. Even if you burn yourself to ashes, he can resurrect you."
Nessus showed a fearful expression.
As the Assistant Minister to the Minister of Adeptus Administratum, he knew how terrifying the Adeptus Administratum's work was.
Just serving as Assistant Minister had left his Astartes body feeling utterly exhausted.
And Guilliman actually wanted to dump all the work of those expelled daemons onto Nessus.
Nessus' tongue trembled uncontrollably.
He had only managed to endure in the position of Assistant Minister of Adeptus Administratum until now by clinging to the thought that he could die once the mission was over.
"What? Didn't you claim to be loyal?"
Guilliman asked with a smile:
"Are you unwilling to undertake some work for the Imperium?"
The current Imperial system was entirely designed and planned by Guilliman after the Great Heresy, based on Malcador's political legacy and last wishes.
The peculiarity of this system was that it didn't worry about traitors, spies, or even daemons within.
Because a single task had already been broken down and distributed to tens of billions, hundreds of billions, or even more Adeptus Administratum staff, no single person could grasp the full picture, making it difficult to cause substantial damage to the Imperium based on the work at hand.
traitors, spies, and daemons infiltrating the Imperial administrative system would even be swept into the tide of the Imperial administrative system, finding that not only could they not cause great damage to the Imperium, but they also had to undertake the tasks assigned by the Imperium.
This was a trap Guilliman deliberately left in the Imperial administrative system; it was very difficult to destroy the Imperium by starting from the administrative system.
Previously, Nessus had also relied on influencing the High Lords, leveraging the already existing Conservative Party, to quietly push for erroneous decisions by the High Lords, slightly contributing to the Fall of Cadia.
But now the High Lords were completely controlled by Guilliman; their decisions were, in fact, Guilliman's decisions, and Guilliman would not be interfered with or influenced by people like Nessus.
So Guilliman was not at all worried about Nessus causing any damage.
In fact, Guilliman rather hoped Nessus would stir up some trouble; that way, he might be able to fish out bigger fish from the deeper Alpha Legion.
Nessus' expression was rigid, his body trembling. He absolutely did not want to fall to that level again.
"I have another way to prove my loyalty."
Nessus quickly said:
"I have a cargo, a cargo from the Black Legion, that I wish to present to the three of you."
"You will definitely be interested!"
