Chapter 29 - Chapter 29: Blob Queen

Inside the alien saucer, the lights burned bright.

Dozens of silkworm-like cocoons lined the floor, glowing with a faint green translucence. Inside each one curled an elderly figure, eyes shut tight in deep sleep.

Ben and Grandpa Max had already slipped into the ship and now stood before the eerie sight.

"Grandpa, we have to move fast!" Ben said, his eyes full of determination.

"Right!" Grandpa Max nodded.

Without wasting a second, the two began hauling the green cocoons as quickly as they could. To work faster, they laid them flat and rolled them down the saucer's ramp, sending them tumbling into the open space below.

...

Dodging an attack from a blob alien, Gwen spun around, chanting a quick incantation as a surge of water gathered in her palm.

Swoosh!

The furious creature was struck through the chest by the Aqua Arrow, its body bursting apart into a puddle of green slime that never reformed.

Water—their one true weakness.

Several blob aliens roared in rage, flailing their grotesque tentacles as they charged at Gwen.

"Think again."

In a flash, Diamondhead appeared in front of her. He slammed his palm onto the ground, instantly raising a towering crystal barrier that blocked every incoming strike.

"Thanks, Cuz," Gwen said quickly, her cheeks slightly flushed.

She looked at Diamondhead's broad, gleaming back with growing admiration—mixed with a quiet frustration that Lucian was her cousin.

Diamondhead gave a small nod before launching himself forward, his powerful legs shattering the ground beneath him as he shot out like a cannonball.

Over fifty blob aliens roared, their twisted tentacles cracking through the air like monstrous whips as they lashed at him.

BOOM!

A storm of tentacles slammed into the spot where Diamondhead charged, the impact thundering through the chamber, shaking loose clouds of dust and shards of rock.

"Heh, let's see you crawl out of that," Alice sneered coldly.

"Oh? That was supposed to hurt?"

A tall, gleaming figure stepped through the smoke, voice dripping with disdain.

"What?!" Alice's eyes widened in disbelief.

Even the combined attack of dozens of blob aliens couldn't take down this Petrosapien?

"That's all you've got? Pathetic."

Diamondhead strode calmly from the settling dust, completely unscathed.

An ordinary Petrosapien might not have survived that, but the Omnitrix optimized every alien's genetic structure, making each form a perfected version of its species.

And after destroying Vilgax's robot earlier, Diamondhead's crystal structure had toughened by another ten percent. These disgusting blob aliens didn't stand a chance of scratching him.

"Looks like I'll have to handle this myself," Alice said, her tone turning icy.

As soon as she spoke, her body began to change.

The beautiful, elegant Alice started melting, her form dissolving into a writhing, blood-red mass until she transformed into a monstrous crimson sludge creature.

"The Blob Queen?" Diamondhead scoffed.

The blood-red monster let out a piercing shriek, her twin head-tentacles thrashing wildly. "You dare mock me? You'll die for that!"

"Everyone—attack! Tear them apart!"

At her command, the blob aliens roared furiously, whipping their tentacles as they lunged toward Diamondhead again.

The Blob Queen charged in behind them, her entire body radiating a dark red aura as she rushed at Diamondhead with murderous fury, determined to crush him to pieces.

Surrounded by dozens of enemies, Diamondhead still fought with ease. His body's hardened crystal rendered their attacks useless.

He seized one blob alien and hurled it against the stone wall, splattering it into a puddle of green ooze.

Then he raised both arms, firing a barrage of crystal blades that rained down like a storm, shredding every blob alien in front of him into dripping piles of slime.

"Your turn."

In a blur, Diamondhead closed in on the Blob Queen.

With a sweeping motion, he formed a massive crystal halberd in his hand and leapt high, bringing it down in a crushing strike toward her.

The Queen screamed, her body twisting violently as six blood-red tentacles shot out to intercept.

Clang!

A sharp metallic ring echoed as her tentacles caught the halberd mid-swing, gripping it tightly.

Diamondhead growled, tightening his hold and pressing down with raw strength.

The Queen's tentacles trembled under the force—her body straining, barely able to withstand it. Diamondhead's strength was far beyond her own.

"Die!" the Blob Queen roared.

Splash!

Two more massive tentacles burst from her blood-red, viscous body, covered in countless spikes as they whipped violently toward Diamondhead's ribs.

Diamondhead's eyes narrowed. He hadn't expected her to have a hidden move left.

But he wasn't about to back down.

With a thought, sharp crystal spikes erupted from his sides, stretching several meters long before colliding head-on with the incoming tentacles.

BOOM!

A thunderous explosion echoed through the chamber as the crimson tentacles smashed against the crystal spikes, shattering into a rain of slime that splattered across the floor.

The crystal spikes weren't untouched—deep cracks spread across them under the immense impact, nearly breaking them apart.

The Blob Queen simply let out a low, mocking laugh, unfazed.

That short exchange had bought her time—her minions were already closing in. With the Petrosapien's armor damaged, surely he wouldn't be able to withstand another wave of attacks, right?

Diamondhead turned toward the oncoming horde and snorted. "Those weaklings can't lay a scratch on me."

He withdrew the cracked spikes, and the fractures vanished instantly, his crystalline body returning to flawless perfection.

BOOM! BOOM!

The ground trembled as the fierce battle raged on. Surrounded by enemies, Diamondhead fought with unstoppable strength, trading blows with the Blob Queen and her swarm of monsters.

"This can't go on," he thought grimly. "If I drag this out, I'll run out of time."

The Omnitrix would soon time out—and when that happened, he'd revert to Lucian, completely defenseless.

He needed a way to finish them all at once.

Knocking a blob alien aside, Diamondhead glanced around and his gaze caught something above—the thick metal water pipe running across the ceiling. Droplets slid from its surface, dripping steadily to the ground.

His eyes gleamed.

He lifted his arm and fired a volley of crystal shards toward the pipe, aiming to burst it open.

But the Blob Queen bellowed, unleashing a storm of tentacles that wrapped around the shards mid-air and hurled them to the ground.

"Don't even think about it!" she shrieked. "Pin him down! Don't give him a chance to breathe!"

Once again, the battlefield erupted in chaos.

Not far away, Gwen loosed several Aqua Arrows in rapid succession, cutting down the blob aliens surrounding her.

Seeing Diamondhead besieged on all sides, she clasped her hands together and began to chant an ancient spell.

"Spirit of mist, power of the demon—cloud their eyes, protect my form..."
