Chapter 21 - A full Closet

Brianna woke up at 7 A.M, her head feeling a little light. She groaned softly, sat up, and rubbed her temples before dragging herself into the shower.

Fifteen minutes later, a towel wrapped around her, she unzipped the small bag she had brought from her apartment. Most of her clothes were still folded inside; simple blouses, jeans, a few dresses, and sweaters.

She picked out a few pieces she thought she might wear this week and carried them toward the closet, intending to hang them. But the moment she slid the closet door open, she froze.

Rows of clothes filled the space, elegant dresses, soft sweaters, tailored coats, and even casual trousers, all perfectly arranged by color. Every piece was her exact style, and every single one still had a tag attached.

Her eyes drifted downward, and she spotted shoes neatly lined up at the bottom ; heels, flats, ankle boots, all her size, all unworn.

And on the shelf, a small open note rested on top of a box of jewellery.

She reached for it, hesitating before reading the paper.

Brianna,

I wasn't sure what you'd like, so I asked the designer to send a few options. I hope they fit.

William

She glanced around the closet again, still overwhelmed, and finally reached for one of the dresses, a knee-length black one, elegant but simple. It fit perfectly when she tried it on, and, it was elegant enough for the set and dinner later that evening. She also added some ankle boots, a touch of lip balm, her small tote bag, and she was ready to leave.

As she stepped out of her room, still adjusting her bag strap, she almost bumped into someone in the hallway.

"Oh! I'm so sorry," she said quickly.

The middle aged woman smiled warmly. "Good morning, Madam Brianna. My name is Martha, I'm the housekeeper. Breakfast will be served for you at the dining table."

Bri blinked, surprised. "Oh… thank you," she said, trying not to sound awkward.

When she got to the dining area, she froze for a second. William was already there, seated neatly at the end of the table, dressed in a light grey suit, looking effortlessly sharp. His tie was undone, his phone in hand.

He looked up when she entered. "Good morning," he said, voice calm.

"Good morning," she replied softly, her fingers tightening around her bag.
