Chapter 26 - Epilogue

Years later...

The kingdom of Ludia and Nitchgard, united under one banner, slept beneath a peaceful night.

In the royal nursery, Queen Elyon of the Twin Crowns sat beside a silver cradle, her hair bound in soft braids, her gown faintly glowing with traces of dormant magic. Two infants - a boy and a girl - stirred beneath a blanket woven with runes of protection.

King William entered quietly, his presence as steady as the moonlight. His wolf's eyes were gentled now, tamed by love and time.

Elyon looked up at him and smiled. "They wouldn't sleep," she said softly.

He chuckled, kneeling beside her. "Then perhaps they need a story."

Elyon leaned closer to the cradle. "Do you remember, William? The night of the forest? The mages' sanctuary?"

"How could I forget?" he said. "That was the night I learned that light can burn - and heal."

Elyon traced a finger over her daughter's hand. "Then they should hear it. The tale of the forbidden spark."

And so she began to speak - of the kingdom that feared magic, of the princess who found her power, of the prince who became her balance, and the night when light and shadow met to make the world whole again.

The twins stirred, tiny hands clutching the air as if reaching for the magic in their mother's words.

When the story ended, the children slept, their breathing soft and even.

William wrapped an arm around Elyon's shoulders. "Do you ever miss it?" he murmured. "The fire, the danger, the chaos?"

She smiled faintly, resting her head against his. "Sometimes. But then I remember how it ended - with peace. And with you."

He kissed her temple. "Then let this be our legend, my queen."

"Not ours," Elyon whispered. "Theirs."

Outside, the night wind moved gently through the towers, carrying the soft hum of the forest far away - a reminder that balance still lived, and that every dawn was born from shadow.

And in the quiet of their chamber, the light of the forbidden spark - once feared, once hunted - burned on, eternal.

The End.
