Cane warned Ai as he tugged her outside. She did not understand what he was so afraid of (mainly because she had not seen who Canari was yet). But she knew that she needed to be careful.
There was a loud crash from the inn behind them, and Cane flinched but did not turn to look back.
He took Ai away from that place and through the town, but he was not able to get very far when a blast blocked his way.
When the smoke cleared and he was able to look up, a familiar face looked back at him. Canari had not only found him, but she also seemed certain that she had found him.
"Oh-! If it isn't the scum that has the 'kill-on-sight' motif? I see that you have even taken to swindling innocent people now. What a shame. Now I have an even clearer reason to go after you."
