Naomi smiled. "Mr. Woods has arranged a room for you. Please, come with me."
Summer rose from her seat and followed Naomi down the corridor. With every step, her heart grew heavier, knowing she had completely disappointed Landon.
Naomi began the makeover. As she examined Summer's face, she smiled in appreciation. "Your skin is so good, smooth, and flawless. You don't need heavy makeup at all."
The brush glided gently over Summer's cheeks. "Look at you," she said, turning Summer toward the mirror. "Just a simple touch-up, and you are already glowing."
Summer stared at her reflection, momentarily speechless. The woman looking back at her seemed almost unfamiliar—radiant, luminous. She lifted her hand and touched her cheek, dazed, as if to confirm it was really her.
Naomi stepped aside and lifted a gown from its cover. "Take a look at this. Mr. Woods arranged this for you," she said warmly. "Isn't it beautiful?"
Summer turned, and her breath caught.
