As we reached the police station with the Deputy Commissioner, the constables he had brought, and the criminal we had captured, me and my brother sat down on the chairs inside. After a moment, the station's main door opened. I turned my head and saw a figure stepping inside. I couldn't see properly because I rarely use my spectacles, and he was about ten meters away.
But as he came closer, I saw him clearly — a man about 6 feet 3 inches tall, wearing an army commissioner's leather uniform. On each shoulder, he had three stars and a lion insignia. He wore a brown leather army coat, matching trousers, and a turban on his head. His long black beard and well-shaped moustache made him look even more intimidating. He carried three guns — one slung across his back and two tucked at his waist, and he held another advanced AK-47-type weapon in his hand.
My brother immediately bowed in respect — something he didn't even do to the Prime Minister earlier — so clearly, his respect for this man was even higher. Before the man could introduce himself, my brother said:
"Let me introduce him. The Fearless… Chief Commander of our country. His original name is Gurdev Dosh."
I was stunned. Why would the Chief Commander of the entire nation be here? Was he replacing the Prime Minister? Why appear suddenly in a small police station?
I whispered to my brother, asking, "Do you know him? And how?"
My brother only smiled.
Then the Commander spoke to Jagpreet:
"Where is the second criminal? I was informed there are two criminals."
My brother pointed toward the constable wearing the police uniform — the same man I had met earlier — and said:
"I introduce you to the second criminal. This man pretending to be Constable Ronald Duck."
He continued, "He has been keeping an eye on the jail cell for more than 20 hours. The real Ronald Duck is missing. Did they kill him? If yes, how? And if not, where is he now? The police searched everywhere — but in two to four minutes of shift change, nobody could hide a body or dump it out of sight. No missing person report can be filed within 24 hours, so nobody complained."
Before I could even form a proper explanation in my head, the fake constable suddenly tried to escape. He ran so fast my eyes couldn't even track him.
But The Fearless drew his gun and shot him in the foot — one clean, precise shot, like something from a movie.
Now I understood why he was called The Fearless — no hesitation, no doubt, pure determination.
The criminal screamed in pain, his foot completely shattered. He was supposed to be released in two hours, but now everything was exposed.
The Commander smiled slightly after the shot — the sound was so loud that everyone in the station froze. Even the Commander looked a bit surprised at the unfolding chaos. His expression clearly showed that he was trying to understand how one criminal had disguised himself as a police officer and the other had hidden inside the ceiling.
He turned toward my brother and said:
"Any good explanation, my old friend… The Hidden Gem?"
I whispered in my mind, The Hidden Gem — good call, Commander… that suits him.
My brother replied calmly:
"You should capture the Deputy Commissioner — Arvinda. He is the one behind the entire plot."
The Deputy Commissioner didn't run, probably because The Fearless was right there. He simply stood straight and gave a regretful smile.
There were about eight constables inside the station, unaware of the real situation. My brother didn't want to reveal too much in front of them.
So with two criminals and the Deputy Commissioner in custody, my brother, Jagpreet Malhotra, said:
"Let's go home first. I will explain everything in detail there."
The Commander ordered his army officers to take charge of the prisoners, and he personally led us outside. We sat in his army jeep — and honestly, it felt like I was some high-ranking officer myself.
Once home, after finishing tea, my brother finally began:
---
"It all started four months ago…"
"When the illusionist — Deputy Arvinda, his real name — cleared the IPS examination, information spread through the district that two high-profile criminals were being transferred to this area. No details were given, just their arrival. For 'security purposes', a new jail was constructed.
"But Arvinda already knew everything about these criminals and had begun planning long before."
He continued:
"The old jail is divided into chambers; each chamber has two cells, one security room, and two cameras recording the criminals. When I inspected it, I spoke to Constable Eagers Duck, who was monitoring the cameras. I asked him if anything unusual had happened in the last six months.
"He said once the electricity went out for a while, so he stepped outside to check the lights. He told another constable, Roya Flayers, to watch the jail during that time. That's when Roya — who was working with Arvinda — spoke to the criminals.
"He offered them money to cooperate with the plan. They agreed because they needed money after release. Roya told them the date and time of the plan. Then they returned to their cells, acting normally while the cameras kept recording. These recordings would be used later."
The new jail was built exactly like the old one — because Arvinda, the head of construction, insisted on the same design and gave the logical explanation that the old jail design is the securest in the country with its iron walls and ceiling. A perfect excuse to avoid suspicion.
"When I checked the old chamber later, I noticed sharp marks on the walls. I asked Duck about them. He said those were from his shoes — shoes gifted to him by the Deputy and they have become good friends which. Deputy intentionally did choose him to be friend with . He claimed he practiced kicks and punches during duty since he used to be a boxer. And if there is any escape he wanted to take down a criminal with just a single kick and be on the first page of newspaper.
"That explained the marks ." and is to deceive detective and when I saw the shoes marks left by Arvinda they are exactly the same as the constable. And there were marks who are faded away if you use magnifying lens you would see .these were left by someone like long time ago .
So The next day, Arvinda visited the old jail. He entered the chamber, asked Duck to step outside to take a round and he want to check the design because he wants the jail to be build exactly like this it was the first every encounter of both of them arvinda and the Constable Eagers, and then he used his special boots — with the exact same grip — to climb up and remove the camera chip. He copied the recordings in two minutes and placed the chip back. And then he came out and send I took all pictures effectively. Thanks . And he commented you look like a really good man may be a boxer I am in the boxing too let us share numbers. They did and they would train together everyday and became good friends.
"Yesterday I asked the authorities to give me exact address of all of them involved with this case, This is what I found when I visited Eagers house and questioned his family about what he does after duty., I also learned that Constable Ronald Duck actually lived 200 km away. When I saw his picture, he looked almost identical to the criminal. That's why Arvinda selected him — to replace him easily."
Then I then went to the new underground jail. Two constables were inside: one in the security room and one outside — the criminal disguised as Ronald Duck.
"I told them their duty was finished and they could leave. The fake Ronald Duck left, but didn't try to return home. He didn't even mention that his home was 200 km away. A normal constable would have asked for help or hotel booking. That silence raised my suspicion."
Everything suggested that the recordings were fake.
So we went to a local hacker shop. The hacker, Hakam,I asked for the if he has sold camera to this man after showing a photo of the Arvinda he said yes Sir and that is all he can tell. — they were easily hackable versions he himself had modified. Even the sticker glue was different; the lab report proved it. The glue is not the original glue used by the camera manufacturer. So sticker and tags were replaced
The new jail was built with these fake security systems.
"Last night, I checked the area and found tyre marks 500 m away from the jail — deeper marks when car is parked and slight marks when car is moving they are totally different. So it was fitting all logically . He parked the car here before the change in the duty of constable and Duck was already there ahead of time . In order not to be late for the duty . Finally the time for the main Plot has come .. he waited for another few minutes. and Sent a really strong person behind the Duck to give ansethetic injection..
