Mirajane watched helplessly as 'Elfman's' enormous fist swung towards Lisanna, and she could do nothing about it. Tears streamed down her face as she gritted her teeth and sobbed uncontrollably.
However, it was at this moment that...
A whooshing sound filled the air as an incredibly fast figure suddenly appeared in front of Lisanna. In the blink of an eye, it flashed away, carrying Lisanna and leaving only a lingering afterimage.
At that very moment, Elfman's enormous fist slammed down, accompanied by a deafening roar. The ground cracked, and countless fissures spread outwards like a spider web, demonstrating the terrifying power contained in that punch. If Lisanna hadn't been taken away, she would have certainly died if she had been hit by that punch!
"That is..."
This scene also fell into Mirajane's eyes, but because it all happened so fast, she was unable to react for a moment.
When she came to her senses, she looked to the side with surprise and delight, and saw a figure in a black robe crouching down, with Lisanna being held tightly in his arms.
"Zeros." Mirajane recognized the person at a glance. Although she was a little puzzled as to why Zeros was here, she was more overjoyed and grateful. Lisanna was saved!
"Brother Zeros."
In that instant, Lisanna felt a blur before her eyes, then she were being held in a warm embrace. When she saw the person in front of her, a happy smile immediately appeared on her face.
Upon hearing this, Zeros simply turned slightly to look at Lisanna and said calmly, "Why don't you run?"
Although Zeros's tone was very calm, Lisanna still keenly sensed the hint of reproach in it, but she was not annoyed at all, because she knew that Zeros was concerned about her.
"Because…" Lisanna looked up at 'Elfman' and whispered, "I believe Brother Elfman wouldn't lay a hand on Lisanna."
"Elfman?"
Upon hearing this, Zeros quickly realized what was happening, looked at the enormous beast king's body, and muttered to himself, "Forced absorption...?"
"What an idiot!" Zeros sneered.
"Brother Elfman did it to save Sister Mira, that's why…" Lisanna tried to defend Elfman, but before she could finish, Zeros interrupted her, "That woman is an idiot!"
Lisanna knew that the 'woman' Zeros was referring to was her sister. Her mouth opened slightly, as if she was about to say something, but Zeros didn't give her a chance, instead looking directly at her and saying, "And you..."
"You're an idiot too!"
"Have you ever thought about how dangerous what you did was? Have you ever thought about the pain your idiot sister would suffer if something happened to you? Have you ever thought about how much your brother would feel guilty if he regained consciousness and found out that he killed his own sister with his own hands!"
"Didn't you consider that if you died, they would live their entire lives in pain and guilt?!"
"I..." Lisanna lowered her head, her cute little lips pouting slightly, feeling very wronged.
She only wanted to wake up her brother Elfman. Time was so tight then; she didn't have time to think about it so much. Now, hearing Zeros's words, she realized she had indeed been inconsiderate. If things had really turned out that way, Mirajane and Elfman would probably be heartbroken...
"Zeros, be careful!" Just then, Mirajane's anxious shout came over.
It turned out that Elfman was furious when his sure-fire attack missed. When he found Zeros, the culprit who ruined his attack, he immediately threw another punch at him.
Zeros had his back to 'Elfman', but when that punch came, it was as if he had expected it. Before Mirajane could even speak, he had already grabbed Lisanna and his body became a blur, easily dodging the angry punch.
Zeros moved swiftly, arriving in front of Mirajane in an instant. he glanced at Mirajane with indifferent eyes, then put Lisanna down and said, "Take good care of her."
After saying that, he turned around and walked forward step by step, while looking at 'Elfman' with a sinister gaze.
"Lisanna, are you alright?" Mirajane's gaze swept over Lisanna, and only after seeing that Lisanna was completely unharmed did she breathe a sigh of relief. She then said, "Lisanna, you were so impulsive just now. You must never do something like that again! I was almost scared to death! Thank goodness Zeros showed up in time, otherwise..."
"I'm sorry, Mira," Lisanna said, her head bowed and her voice low.
Mirajane was puzzled by what she saw. She glanced at Zeros and guessed that Zeros might have said something to Lisanna that made the latter act this way, but she didn't care at all, as long as her sister was safe.
Thinking it over, she gently hugged Lisanna, then looked at Zeros and shouted, "Thank you, Zeros!"
Her tone was filled with deep gratitude, devoid of any of her former pride. However, Zeros seemed oblivious to this, continuing to walk forward on his own. At this moment, his eyes were only on 'Elfman', who had transformed into the Beast King.
