Chapter 2 - COTE - II

The moment Lumian saw the four people walk into the library, his mood dropped. Not showing his feelings, Lumian raised his eyebrow.

"...?"

"Why don't you accompany us for a second?"

After realizing that Lumian doesn't plan on speaking, Ryueen smirked and invited him. Albert, who was behind Ryueen moved to his left, as if to block the entrance.

Seeing Albert's actions, Lumian stared blankly at Ryuuen's face.

"I'm kind of busy today, maybe tomorrow." Lumian shook his head as he spoke in a calm voice. It was already late, and he didn't want to waste his time with the likes of Ryuuen. However, Ryuuen's next word brought a frown to his face.

"It's not a request."

"..."

Of course, a jerk like Ryuuen would definitely say something like this. It wasn't his first time dealing with Ryuuen. However, in the past, Ryuuen wasn't as destructive as he is currently. It seems like he's worked up about the "traitor" who's leaking information to Class-D.

Knowing that talking anymore would be useless, Lumian walked in front of Ryuuen and passed by his shoulder. He doesn't want to waste his time dealing with these guys. He would only waste his time.

"Where'd you think you're going?"

Seeing Lumian's actions, Ryuuen tried to mess with him by blocking his way out but got pushed back instead. Looking at Lumian's back, he fell into a thought for a few moments before turning around and entering the library, it was unknown what he was thinking.

...

As he walked out of the library, Lumian halted his steps as he fell into a deep thought.

Just now, he was almost unable to maintain his bloodlust. If he had been even a bit late in leaving that store, he wasn't sure what he would've done. Although this seems like a normal thing, Lumian knew that there was something wrong with him.

A few moments earlier, he was just having a conversation with Hiyori about the book he was reading, and the next moment he had the urge to kill someone over a small, trivial thing.

He shook his head and was about to continue walking when he heard a voice behind him. He took a glance behind him and saw a group of individuals approaching in his direction. With his clear eyesight, he was able to identify that they were students from Class 1-A.

Although he wasn't proud of it, Lumian was one of the few students who managed to befriend many students from other classes despite being a quiet individual. Well, it was all thanks to them approaching him anyway.

" Lumian, my man!"

This guy... Hashimoto, leading the group of students approached Lumian and greeted him with a grin. Hashimoto was one of the few people with whom Lumian was fine talking. He suppressed his irritation and smiled.

"How are you, Hashimoto?" Then, Lumian turned his gaze towards the others and scanned them one by one. "These are?"

Hashimoto grinned and introduced them one by one. Among all of them, the girl who piqued Lumian's interest was the girl named Asuka Shiraisa. Aside from her "well-endowed" figure, what interested him the most was the nickname Hashimoto called her.

"30-Men Slayer?" Lumian lifted his eyebrows as he looked at the girl herself. Although she was indeed pretty, it was too much for 30 guys to approach her in the span of a few months since the start of the class.

"Shiraisa-san's charm is quite dangerous ya know? Are you planning on becoming the 31st man, Lumian?"

Hashimoto laughed and took Lumian's hand as he made Asuka and Lumian shake hands together. Of course, Lumian, who was not in the mood, just stared blankly at the girl, trying to see what set her apart from other people.

The girl in question, Shiraisa, reached her hands and shook hands with Lumian with a polite smile.

"You must be the guy that Hashimoto always tells us. He told us you're from overseas and is quite unfamiliar with the culture of Japan. It's nice meeting you."

"That's right, so if there are some cultures I'm not aware of, please kindly teach me." Lumian nodded his head. "It's nice meeting you too."

The next to approach Lumian by herself was a girl Lumian was family with. He extended his hand for a handshake and smiled.

"You're Ai Morishita, am I right?"

The girl was taken aback by Lumian's words. Then, she raised her eyebrows as if she was thinking of something. Of course, Lumian was aware of what was on her mind. Lumian chuckled.

"You're one of the most... unique people among your classmates after all, at least that's what Hashimoto told me."

Ai stared blankly at Lumian's face before shaking hands with him. After that, she silently walked behind Shiraisa and squeezed her way through the group. Seeing the oddball's behavior, Lumian fell silent.

Feeling a little bit awkward, Hashimoto decided to break the silence.

"Uh... Lumian, I heard some news about a rat being among your classmates. Do you have any clue about the person in question?"

Hashimoto nudged Lumian as he wore a smile. Lumian knew that Hashimoto was telling him to give him some of his guesses. But Lumian doesn't care about such trivial things. To him, Ryuuen's inability to control his classmates, even through violence, shows how flawed his method is.

Lumian pretended to think for a moment before speaking.

"Honestly, it's quite troublesome. But I don't really care about such matter, so asking me is kind of useless. Ryuuen leads the class however he wants, it's up to him if he wants to squeeze out the traitor or not." Lumian said as he stared at the ground.

"I feel like you're lying." Hashimoto smiled. "I'm not gonna be surprised if the traitor turns out to be you." he laughed.

Lumian was aware that Hashimoto wasn't surprised. Of course, he was probably probing Lumian's reactions. Shaking his head, he decided to excuse himself.

"Well then, I'll be going now. I still have a lot to do," he turned his gaze to Shiraisa as he wore a smile on his face. "Goodbye, Shiraisa."

Shiraisa, though, was caught off guard for a bit, but immediately recovered. She conjured a sweet smile and said to Lumian:

"Uh... Good-bye... Lumian."

Should I add illustration of the character?
