(The Dropship Camp )
After the crazy events of that night, things started to calm down. Clarke was with Wells, checking his now stable leg, when a sound ripped through the quiet atmosphere.
The whole camp looked up towards the sky and saw the flaming metal tearing through the sky.
The dropship struck the ground with a bone-jarring impact, not too far away from their camp.
"We have to leave right now!" Clarke yelled.
But Bellemy denied the idea.
"It's too dangerous to move during the night. Let's wait till the next morning."
As much as Clarke wanted to go right away, she could not deny the facts. Murphy and Charlotte were nowhere to be found. The camp thought both of them were taken by the grounders. And knowing this, they can not afford to lose any more people.
********
The next morning, Bellamy was the first to wake up. He sprinted toward the crash site, knowing the possibility of a communication system being on the ship. He arrived at the crash site and slowly made his way near the ship.
Inside, he saw an unconscious girl in a spacesuit.
Tap Tap
Bellamy tapped the window two times, just to be sure. Then opened the hatch.
He found the radio set easily and tore the main comm unit from its housing, ripping the cables free, and bolted from the crash site. He ran until he reached the edge of the nearest marshy pond, where he dropped the heavy box in the stagnant water. The communication link to the Ark was dead, and with it, the threat of the council knowing about him was gone.
A few hours later, Bellemy woke the rest of the camp up. He, along with Clarke, Finn, and Monty, left for the crash site.
They soon located the ship and opened the hatch. As the hatch opened, Finn's eyes went wide.
"Raven?"
'What is she doing here?!'
Just then, Raven slowly woke up.
As she opened her eyes, the first thing she saw was her boyfriend.
"I knew I would make it!!!!" She yelled as she jumped straight into his arms. Finn, currently shocked and unable to process the appearance of his girlfriend from the Ark, reflexively held her. Raven hugged him tight, burying her face in his shoulder, before pulling back and kissing him hard.
Clarke watched the entire scene unfold. Finn's wide eyes, the way Raven clung to him, and the kiss. It was crystal clear who she was. Her earlier feelings about Finn died. She finally knew Finn's true face.
A bloody, calculating cheater. He had confessed love to her in the bunker days ago while his actual girlfriend was risking her life to reach him.
But then Raven pulled back, remembering the culling.
"The radio," Raven shouted and jumped back into the ship. "No, no no no..... where did it go!!"
"What's wrong?" Asked Monty.
Raven ignored him. She started looking all over the ship, only to find the whole radio set being ripped out. Frustration boiled over into desperation.
"IT'S GONE!! The radio set is gone!!" She turned back to them.
"The oxygen systems are failing. They are planning on floating hundreds of people to save air! We don't have time! They think Earth is not habitable due to the connection cut with your wrist bands, we have to tell them now!"
The information stunned the group into a horrified silence. Clarke turned to Bellamy, who looked pale as paper.
'Because of this idiot!!'
"We have to tell them," Clarke choked out, tears of horror welling up. "They have to stop the floating! The Ark has to use its last air to survive the trip!"
Raven was already tearing apart the Manta's console. "I can use the emergency transmitter, but it has no range. We need the main long-range comms unit. We need the radio!"
Bellamy's condition got even worse. He couldn't withstand the combined weight of the guilt of almost getting hundreds of innocent people killed.
'Fuck it!!'
"It was me," Bellamy confessed, his voice low and ragged. "I took it. I threw it into the pond."
The group gasped. Finn looked ready to throw a punch his way.
"Why!?" Clarke shouted.
Bellamy looked at the ground in shame. "I did it because... they were going to float my sister. If they found out Earth was survivable, the council would come down and execute everyone who broke the rules, starting with me and Octavia. I had to do it to keep her safe. And to get on the ship, I was to shoot Jaha."
This left the group shocked.
Clarke stepped back, processing his act. "We need the radio, Bellamy. Hundreds of people will die up there because of a promise from a liar."
Bellamy nodded miserably. "I'll get it. You all get to the camp, I will be there soon."
(The Dropship - 2 hours later)
It took hours of work, but they recovered the waterlogged radio. Raven worked using every scrap of metal and wire, drying and splicing circuits.
"It's working!" Raven yelled, scrambling to the microphone. "We're transmitting! Stop the launch! The air is breathable!"
They waited. The static hissed and strained.
Then, a voice cut through the background. Thelonious Jaha, exhausted, weary, and alone in a communication relay, answered. "Raven? Raven Reyes, is that you? Report your status immediately!"
Raven was too overwhelmed to speak. Clarke rushed forward. "Jaha, stop the culling!!! We are fine down here!"
The silence from the Ark was the answer.
"The floating is already done, Clarke," Jaha's voice was barely a whisper. "It's too late. We had to float over three hundred people to save the rest."
The news landed like a collective blow. Bellamy's act had led to the sacrifice of hundreds.
Jaha, knowing the end was near for the Ark, needed to know the full truth of their situation. Clarke relayed the facts: hostile native humans, the loss of Murphy and Charlotte, and the urgent need for defense.
"Hostile natives. Understood," Jaha confirmed. "Bellamy, is that you? I know you would not do something this stupid for no reason. I need to know the name of the person behind all this."
Bellamy stepped forward, his face etched with regret but finding strength in the truth. "It was Diana Sydney, Chancellor."
Jaha absorbed the treachery. "Diana Sydney. Understood. Now, listen carefully. There is a military depot near your landing site. It should contain weapons, medical supplies, rations, and long-range communications equipment."
The coordinates appeared on a small, surviving display screen.
Clarke turned to the camp, her eyes shining with renewed purpose.
"We will send a scouting team to find the depot, and after that, we will bring everything useful."
She hesitated only for a moment before returning to the mic. "Chancellor Jaha, I need to ask you something."
"Sure."
"Is it true my mother told you about my father's plan?"
Jaha paused. The betrayal was too great to lie about again. "Clarke," he began, his voice heavy with the sins he had to commit for the Ark. "Your mother did what she believed was best for the Ark. She-"
"I heard what I needed to, Chancellor," Clarke cut him off sharply, disconnecting the transmission.
The final confirmation of her mother's betrayal was done. Clarke turned to Wells, who was watching her with sympathetic eyes. She leaned down and hugged him tight. "I'm sorry, Wells," she whispered, tears in her eyes. "I'm so sorry for being such an bitch to you. Thank you for protecting her."
Wells simply hugged her back. "It's okay, Clarke. I'll always be by your side. Now go."
She pulled back and then pressed a quick kiss to his forehead. "I'll be back."
Leaving a shocked Wells behind.
**********
Clarke marched to the gate of their camp. Bellamy was already waiting, along with Raven and Finn.
(The Woods)
The journey to the military depot was swift and silent. Clarke led the way, setting a punishing pace through the dense foliage.
Throughout the initial leg, Finn kept trying to talk to Clarke, walking beside her, attempting to explain the betrayal she had just witnessed. "Clarke, I didn't know Rave-"
She cut him off, not with words, but by speeding up and walking ahead, maintaining absolute silence. She ignored his every attempt at eye contact or apology.
Luckily, Bellamy called him over. "Spacewalker! Get over here! Look at this animal track. We need to be sure we're alone." This forced Finn to leave her side and focus on the security of the perimeter.
Raven, walking behind Clarke, watched the exchange. Which left her confused.
"What's up with you two?" Raven asked, her voice low. "He looks like he just saw a ghost, and you look like you want to put him in the ground."
Clarke sighed, the tension finally breaking. She slowed slightly and told Raven everything: the chaos in the camp, the truth about Wells's sacrifice, the intense confession in the bunker, and the rejection just days before Raven landed.
This disclosure froze Raven mid-step. She stopped, staring at Clarke, utterly broken.
"He... he told you he loved you?" Raven choked out, her voice cracking. "Days ago? I risked my life, I broke every rule, and flew a burning ship to get here... for him."
Clarke just put a hand on her shoulder. "I'm sorry, Raven. At least now you know what kind of man he is."
Just then, Finn walked back toward them as he opened his mouth to say something.
SLAP(I loved writing this part)
Before a single word could escape, Raven slapped him. The sound cracked through the silent woods.
Finn reeled back, confused for a second, then looked at Clarke, his eyes wide with horror and realization.
'She told her!' (No shit, Sherlock)
He tried to talk to Raven, to touch her, but she stepped back. She ignored him completely and walked with Clarke, taking the lead, their shared purpose overriding their personal pain.
"You had that coming," Bellemay whispered in Finn's ear as he crossed him.
The rest of the journey was an awkward mess. Bellamy and Finn maintained a tense silence at the edges of the group, while Clarke and Raven walked side-by-side, united in their hate towards the spacewalker.
********
Soon they reached the depot, a circular concrete slab hidden beneath a natural rock formation. It was clearly the top of an underground bunker.
They worked together, prying at the heavy lid of the bunker. Surprisingly, it opened with relative ease. A rush of cold, stagnant air, smelling faintly of metal and moss, rose from the dark hole.
They entered the depot, dropping down into the darkness, flashlights immediately clicking on. The beams cut through the thick dust and cobwebs, revealing a mountain of equipment: crates stacked high with sealed rations, towering shelves lined with medical supplies, and lines of rifles, sidearms, and ammunition in heavy, steel racks.
Looking at the sheer amount of equipment, the awkward tension of their journey melted away, replaced by pure, ecstatic joy. With this, they weren't just gonna survive; they were ready to defend themselves, heck, even attack the enemy if needed.
Finn, recovering his voice and his confidence in the presence of weapons, walked over to a stack of rifles.
"Now we fight," Finn stated. "We kill those Grounders. We'll go get Murphy and Charlotte back."
Bellamy nodded, his hand already caressing the stock of an automatic rifle. "We take the fight to them."

.
.
.
"You use the word kill too lightly," an electronic voice echoed in the chamber.
Immediately, all four of them froze.
The sound was cold, synthesized, and eerily amplified. They just looked around the bunker; they had used light, but not a single one of them saw anyone there.
Someone else was in here. Someone who knew they had arrived.
They turned slowly, flashlights trembling, sweeping the beam across the vast, dark depot.
The beam landed on a horrific scene.
Standing near the far wall, leaning against a dusty support column, was a massive figure. It was impossibly huge, clad in a bulky, black protective armor. But the most terrifying part was its mask, which was a black and orange mask, staring them in the dead in the eyes.
(The image)
The figure stood perfectly still, hands crossed over its chest. It just watched them.
The sound of their collective heartbeats hammered in the scary silence.
