Chapter 3 - The First Sparks

The morning corridors of St. Monarch's International School

were alive with whispers, giggles, and sideways glances.

Everyone seemed to know by now that the new girl, Niya

Sharma, had not only roasted the infamous Apex Four but also

managed to outplay them at basketball without breaking a

sweat. Some admired her calm intelligence, some were

intimidated, and others were just plain curious.

Across the hallway, the Apex Four leaned casually against the

lockers, observing her every move.

"She's bold," Aarav muttered, his voice low. "Confident,

composed… and completely untouchable. But why does she act

like she doesn't care about us?"

Veer laughed, trying to act nonchalant, though his eyes followed

her every step. "Bold, fearless… and irritating. But I kinda like it."

Kairo smirked, adjusting his backpack. "She's interesting. Makes

me wonder what else she's hiding."

Soren, as usual, didn't speak. His gaze, cold and analytical,

followed Niya with sharp precision.

By lunch, a small crowd had gathered in the cafeteria. One

mischievous boy, clearly inspired by the rumours about Niya,

decided to provoke her. He deliberately bumped into another

student's tray, sending food and juice spilling across the table.

The students around gasped, expecting an argument or chaos.

Niya didn't flinch. She calmly walked to the scene, tilting her

head slightly.

"Messing with someone's lunch isn't clever," she said softly,

voice calm but commanding. "Clean it up before it becomes a

bigger problem. And don't try it again."

The boy blinked, shocked by her composure. He had expected

shouting, tears, or flinching. But Niya simply stood there, calm,

precise, and unbothered.

Veer stepped forward, smirking. "Wow, bossy already? Who

gave you the right to order people around?"

Niya's eyes met his, cool and unshakable. "Right? Common

sense gives me the right. And it's amazing how people like you

never seem to have it."

The cafeteria erupted in whispers and giggles. Some students

were impressed; others were slightly scared.

Aarav, leaning casually, crossed his arms, a faint smirk playing on

his lips. "She's fearless. Bold. Not like the rest of them."

Kairo chuckled softly. "She doesn't even look like she's afraid of

us. That's… different."

Veer huffed. "Different? She's just… lucky."

Soren didn't speak. His sharp eyes, as always, studied her every

micro expression, every calm step, every flicker of confidence.

Later, during free period, the Apex Four decided to finally

approach her. Aarav took the lead.

"You're Niya, right? The girl who's been keeping everyone on

edge?" he asked, leaning slightly against the railing.

Niya glanced at him, tilting her head. "Depends on who's

asking," she said softly, but there was an unmistakable

confidence in her voice.

Veer grinned, trying to lighten the tension. "Don't be so serious.

We just want to talk… and maybe test if you're as bold as

everyone says."

Niya's eyes met his, unwavering. "Talk is fine. But don't mistake

my calmness for weakness."

Kairo smirked. "No one's mistaking anything. You're…

interesting. Not like anyone else here."

Soren stayed back, silent as ever, but his piercing gaze never left

her.

The conversation ended there, but the tension lingered. The

Apex Four, used to being feared and respected, realized that

Niya was not someone to underestimate. She had intelligence,

calm, and boldness all in one, and yet she didn't try to dominate

anyone physically.

That afternoon, a few incidents happened in the corridors that

Niya handled with effortless composure. A student dropped his

books near her, clearly flustered. Niya picked them up without a

word and handed them back, her calm smile disarming his

nervousness. A group of younger students started whispering

about an upcoming basketball game, and Niya gave them a

piece of advice, gently but firmly correcting mistakes in their

technique, earning quiet respect.

Meanwhile, the Apex Four observed everything.

"She's everywhere," Veer muttered. "She doesn't even try to get

noticed, but somehow everyone's watching her."

Aarav nodded slowly, leaning back. "She's bold, smart… and not

scared of us. Very interesting."

Kairo added, "I wonder if she ever gets nervous. Even for a

second."

Soren's silence, as always, spoke volumes. His eyes were

calculating, measuring, analysing.

By the time school ended, Niya had left her mark on everyone

she interacted with. She hadn't raised her voice, hadn't gotten

aggressive, hadn't shown even a hint of intimidation. Yet her

calm confidence, intelligence, and wit had made her

untouchable in her own right.

The Apex Four, who had always dominated the school, suddenly

felt challenged—not in strength, but in sheer presence. For

them, Niya Sharma was not just another new girl; she was a

puzzle, a force, and a challenge all at once.

And for Niya, it was just another day proving that intelligence,

calmness, and confidence could be more powerful than any act

of aggression.
