Chapter 17 - Chapter 17 - Dante

Eventually, I had enough strength to gently move him off me and get up to get a cloth. He watched me sleepily as I cleaned us up.

"Don't go to sleep yet Little Lamb," I chuckled. "We need to talk with the others."

Sorin protested as I pulled him up. He looked so cute as he pouted at me but he allowed me to dress him. I guided him downstairs and glared at a smirking Luca. Marine and his father were sitting on one of the sofas thankfully oblivious.

We took the other sofa whilst Luca stayed on one of the stools near the kitchen counter.

"Sorin, this is Marine, your younger sister."

He smiled at her and then nodded at the man next to her.

"Dante told me you helped him find me," he said to her.

"Yes, I have the same power as our mother, only mine is stronger. That's normal though, daughters usually have a similar and stronger power than their mothers. It's rare for it to be less powerful."

She smiled sadly at the mention of her mother. Sorin stood and moved to her side. Despite being strangers my soul comforted her.

"I knew to hide my powers from her, she didn't like it if you were more powerful than she was. Life was hard enough so I chose to be weaker. I thought she would change, especially when others in the coven teased me about being weaker than my mum but she didn't. Especially when she gave me to …"

Sorin wrapped his arms around her and she cried into his chest. My dead heart warmed at the sight.

"It's over now," he assured her.

She looked up at him and offered him a weak smile.

"Thank you," she beamed.

"What will happen to you two now?" he asked. "Will you go back to the coven?"

"God no!" Aiden called out. "We both hated it there, I was tolerated because of my connection to Lucia but for Marine it was worse. Besides, that coven won't be around much longer."

Sorin looked at him with a raised eyebrow and then at me for clarification.

"We contacted the witch council and they are planning on investigating the coven. From what Aiden and Marine have said it's much worse there than what they've been through. They seem to be linked to a child sex trafficking ring as well as forced slave labour. The council will come down on them hard."

Sorin gasped as he stared at Marine.

"It's ok Sorin, because of Lucia, Marine was spared that. I thought she would be protected fully but then Salazar set his sights on her. He used his power on me when I refused, when I tried to stop him. After that your mother was never the same with me, she hated me for embarrassing her in front of him."

"She was embarrassed that you wanted to protect your child from being forced to sleep with that old slime ball?"

Aiden nodded and sighed as he stroked Marine's hair.

"It's ok Sorin," she whispered. "Because of his power on me I was able to block out what he did. Even though my body would respond to him, my mind was able to blank out. I don't have any memory of what he did, I just know he did it."

"Small mercy's," he mumbled.

"Well if you have nowhere to go, you can stay here, right?"

He added the last part to me and I smiled and nodded. I didn't like the idea of more people in my home but they were his family and I know he's longed for someone.

"That's kind of you but we couldn't impose. I doubt you want your lover's dad and younger sister around."

Aiden smiled at me and I had to force myself not to nod at him. He read my mind completely, but I at least had a solution.

"Well actually, I also own the home next door. Originally, I had planned to sell it after fixing it up. It's been a hobby of mine for years especially since I don't sleep much. The physical labour allowed me to pass the time away on some nights I had nothing to do. It was finished ages ago but since meeting Sorin I have not had the time or inclination to sell it."

"Really?" Marine asked. "We could live next door?"

I nodded and she smiled but Aiden looked pained.

"We can't do that, I have no income, no way of paying rent. That was one of the main reasons we didn't leave the coven sooner."

"Don't worry about the rent for now. You are Sorin's family which makes you my family and I have more than enough money which means I don't need the rent. Get yourselves sorted first, find a job, go to school, I will support you."

Aiden looked pained but Sorin took his hand.

"Please Dad," he started. "I know it's a lot to accept as much help as this, but you guys have just come into my life. I don't want to lose you guys now. Marine can go to college, Dante and Luca can help you find a good job. Let us do this for you."

Aiden's face stilled but then broke into a huge smile. I think it took Sorin a little to realise what he'd just called Aiden.

"A … a … are you sure?" he asked.

"Of course Aiden. Marine has finished school right, she can decide what she wants to do now, if she wants to go to college or if she wants to get a job. We will help you both."

Marine gripped her fathers hands and smiled. Aiden looked at her and then back at me and nodded.

I knew it was hard for him but it would make Sorin happy to help him through me. Sorin beamed at me.

'I love you so much!' He said in my mind. 'I want you to fuck me so hard later that I can't walk straight for a week.'

I coughed and choked as he smiled innocently at me. I sent him a glare before turning back to my future in-law.

We settled them next door and as soon as the door shut I made good on what he wanted me to do earlier.

---

Sorin sighed happily as he slowly moved his finger across my bare chest. He was slightly laid over me with my arm around his shoulders.

"I can't believe this is happening," he sighed.

"You can't believe what is happening? Us having mad passionate sex? I only did what you asked me to do earlier," I teased.

He playfully slapped me and pouted.

"No I don't mean that. I mean I can't believe that I am this happy. I'm in love, my boyfriend is handsome and rich, and my biological family, minus my mum, is back in my life. I feel … complete."

I kissed the top of his head and smiled. I felt the same way, though it would be impossible for my family to return, I still felt whole.
