Chapter 50 - A Ray of Sunshine with Clouds
"Oh my goodness, Julie! How are you doing? I kept getting your pings but then Mr LY told me that I wasn't needed. How is Leo? Is he doing alright?" Louie said, after Idalia had said, "Come in," to his hasty knock.
"Louie," she turned to him, stopping her backing momentarily and accepting his embrace.
It was comforting to have a friend after everything that she had gone through. Although, a corner of her mind still doubted him, a large part believed that his friendship was actually sincere.
It had seemed to be so far.
"There. There." Louie said against her hair, his grip tight around her. "You are alive and fine."
She pulled away when she felt the embrace was enough. It was 8:00 am. She had bathed Arik, tossed their bloodied clothes into the washer, and disposed of her blue nightdress, which had practically become useless after Mr Lythoryn's medical treatment.
