Chapter 29 - The Clash Of Geniuses

"Wh—who is Amon? And how does he have so many points already?"

The question finally drew the attention of all the instructors to the ranking list and they were dumbfounded.

Where had Amon sprung up from?

Those who had glanced at the ranking list just minutes ago were the most stunned.

Barely five minutes ago Amon wasn't even in the top 20 and now he was already at first rank.

"He's now at 600?" the instructors watched in shock as the numbers jumped instantly to 600+ in the blink of an eye, then jumped rapidly and entered 700 a few seconds later.

Seeing his son's name, Seth's mouth fell open, and he was bewildered.

He quickly scanned the holographic displays and his eyes landed on the seventh one.

"It should be the seventh screen," an instructor muttered, noticing the massacre occurring in the seventh screen.

"Isn't that the kid that was previously drowning?" another instructor recalled in astonishment.

"Indeed it is." The instructors noticed the peculiar loose silver strands at the corner of Amon's hair and were certain he was the one.

In that case, was he pretending before?

The question tugged at the corners of their minds even as their gazes were fixed on the screen.

"He's strong. Terrifyingly so… whose son is that?" After watching in a daze at Amon's battle prowess, the instructors were unable to contain themselves.

Aside from the acknowledged seven strongest, to think there was a dark horse in their midst.

And even more exciting…

"Those seven are almost catching up to the location of the massacre. Perhaps a showdown will occur!"

The statement brought the others' attention to the other monitors and they noticed that the five who were rushing in Amon's direction had almost arrived.

"Congratulations on having such a wonderful son," Gable praised from the bottom of his heart upon realizing it was the kid he had assessed before.

Seth smiled proudly and couldn't help rubbing his chin with a cool grin plastered across his face.

"But," Gable suddenly narrowed his eyes, "I'm certain he is a white core. Did you truly come across 'that' secret?"

Gable had asked this before but Seth had shrugged him off.

Now he couldn't help being even more curious about the situation with Amon.

Once again, Seth didn't reply and smoothly veered the topic off course.

Exasperated, Gable could only sigh in frustration as he was unable to get any leads on the matter.

'Still, if it's truly related to that secret, then perhaps I should really look more into it,' he thought with a frown.

"The confrontation begins!" an instructor exclaimed like an excited child.

The other instructors also had shining expressions on their faces as they gazed at the holographic screen as if they were watching some kind of movie.

There, on all seven holographic displays, was the same scene.

Ten teenagers surrounded Amon, who was dressed in a casual black outfit with a sword in his right hand.

Around them, the ocean was filled with blood and within more than ten meters there were no demon beasts in sight.

It was truly terrifying to think Amon had slaughtered all these demon beasts by himself.

And his points had climbed up to a staggering 1500!

It could be considered one of the highest ever recorded in the academy's history!

Meanwhile, back at the ocean.

Amon had just finished dealing with all the demon beasts in his line of sight.

Around him all the demon beasts had vanished, seemingly hiding in the depths of the ocean.

Just as Amon was lamenting in regret, he sensed ten distinct auras approaching him from different angles.

'Friends… or foes?'

Amon straightened himself atop the water and his hand gripping his sword seemed ready to strike at any moment.

Finally, after mere moments, all ten of them arrived at the same time.

For a brief instant, it was as though their visit had been planned.

Amon's eyes swept through them and he couldn't help feeling intrigued.

There were some familiar auras and Amon recognized that these auras belonged to the seven he had encountered the moment he came.

Then there were the other three who, although they weren't too strong, couldn't be considered much in his eyes.

Amon noticed a Chinese youth with narrow eyes and neatly ponytailed hair behind him, dressed in a blue Chinese robe.

The youth stared at the bloody scene and was dumbfounded.

Then his eyes fell on a lady with a soft silvery band wrapped around her eyes.

'She's blind?' Amon wondered, but his eyes also became solemn. 'And she's terrifying.'

The blind girl seemed to be looking at her surroundings and even directly at Amon.

But at the same time, she wasn't looking at him, but also studying the others.

Mei Aiko, a lady dressed in a Japanese one-piece dress with a thigh high mini skirt, glanced at the ocean and said what was on everyone's mind.

"Where're all the demon beasts that're supposed to be here?"

The eyes of everyone fell onto Amon at the question, after all he was the only one present.

If anyone should know anything, it had to be him.

Amon laughed and stroked his sword, causing the fresh blood on its edges to drip into the water.

"I killed them all. Any problem?"

Hearing his nonchalant words, they were all dumbfounded.

Killed them all?

How long had it been since the entrance examination started?

"I don't believe someone without much aura like you can kill all the demon beasts here!" Carmen, a guy among the seven that Amon had considered strong, growled, staring at him questioningly.

His reasoning wasn't baseless.

Due to Amon being a mortal vein realm gifted one, his aura was weak compared to theirs.

"Want to give it a try?" Amon said with a faint smile and tapped his foot lightly on the water.

The lake rippled, and in the next instant Amon's figure blurred and appeared in front of Carmen.

His sword pointed at Carmen's neck and it seemed he might kill him at any moment.

However, at some point, a black shadow wrapped itself around Amon's wrist, restricting his movements.

"Interesting…" Amon chuckled.

"Such an interesting gift," he exclaimed from the bottom of his heart.

An illusory moonlight glow passed and Amon was suddenly a few steps away from Carmen.

Connecting him to Carmen were their long shadows.

However, as soon as Amon calmly landed on the water, the shadows split into countless fragments and even some of them froze before falling into the ocean.

'His movement is so fast, I can barely react!' Carmen thought grimly as his guard rose.

Meanwhile, the others had somber looks on their faces and tension filled the air.

It seemed a fight was about to break out at any moment.

Just then, a calm voice broke through the tension.

The voice was gentle, extremely so, and carried an air of maturity far above her peers.

Everyone instantly realized who the voice belonged to and their eyes turned toward the lady.

Helena.

Dressed in a spotless white dress, it didn't even seem like she came for an entrance examination but an occasion.

Her flowing black hair cascaded down her back and an air of pride and superiority radiated off her as her voice reached Amon's ears.

"Who are you?" There was a faint glimmer in her eyes as if she was trying to peer into the mysteries Amon was hiding.

Amon was slightly taken aback by the question, but he only took a moment before answering.

"I'm Amon Adam."

"Of the Adam family?" she questioned.

"Yes." Amon nodded and noticed the lady's flawless face betray a look of shock, as though she had lost her composure.

'That's not right,' Helena thought in disbelief. 'The Adam family isn't supposed to have a child in this generation.'

She glanced at Amon and the look in her eyes grew cold as a chill began to spread throughout the ocean, freezing it.

'Amon… who exactly are you? And why do you exist in this timeline?'
