Marco
Amanda had only two glasses of wine and she was already struggling to blink like a normal human. It was one eye after the other and even though I had been trying to get a laugh out of her, once she was tipsy she found everything I had to say to be funny.
I had never seen anything like it but I figured her body was so small that just a sip of alcohol did to her what a whole bottle would have to do for me. It was humorous and once she was not second guessing everything I had to say I could see Edward in her. The witty, fun nature and the comedy.
She slept the entire ride back to the hotel and I had to carry up to her room as well. I could have lifted her with one arm if I wanted to, that was how light she was. With her curves I had to constantly keep myself in check to not just savour the feeling of her body against mine.
"I hate him," she mumbled in her sleep just as I was able to open her bedroom suite. I had no doubt in my mind she was talking about me until she said, "No President Unicorn I plead the fifth." She woke herself up by how hard she was laughing then smacked my chest, "No Piper no."
"You're going to hurt yourself," I sighed as she struggled out of my arms. I gently put her down that her feet were on the ground and in her little heels I prayed she did not break her ankle as she walked to the kitchen of her suite.
She opened the golden mirror fridge and pulled out a bottle of water which she effortlessly chugged down before letting out a small burp. "Excuse me," she gave me a pretty smile whilst fluttering her eyelashes then handed me a bottle as well. "You look dehydrated."
"Thank you," and I was. Watching Amanda bend down again as she rummaged the fridge could have had that effect on you.
"There's no food," she huffed.
"I could order room service," I shrugged. She had eaten plenty at the restaurant but it seemed she still had room for more.
She nodded, "Yes, the one you cancelled earlier." She walked past me then gently patted my chest, "I'm going to shower once again. Get the drunk of me. Find something good to watch on teli yeah."
"I thought you wanted me gone," I smiled down at her.
"I'm lonely and desperate you would have to do for now," she shrugged, "Unless you'd like me to call another man to keep me company."
My face fell, "Never."
Her laugh told me exactly what she thought of my statement before she left for her bedroom. I grabbed the room service menu and the phone, then ordered everything I thought she would like. Once I had that sorted I went over to the television and somehow found myself watching the news.
My stomach twisted to see I was once again the centre of it. I did not even know the woman I had slept with was the wife of one of the top data scientists in the country which shamefully I had worked with before a few years prior. I did not even know he was married and most importantly I would have never taken it that he would have married her.
This was not good and she was making no effort to keep my name out of her mouth as the sole reason for why her husband had recently filed for divorce. I knew my father was going to have my neck for this tomorrow when he came back from Saudi Arabia and I would have to act fast before the news spun more out of control.
It felt difficult to relax watching myself therefore once I heard the shower switch off I quickly changed the channel to some science fiction movie. There was a knock on the door and I was quick to answer it.
By the time Amanda came out I had the food laid out on the coffee table and took out her milkshake from the fridge.
"Hmm, someone's trying hard to impress me," she smiled as her tiny body entered the living area. She was dressed in a large unicorn print hoodie, pink cotton shorts, with knee high turquoise socks and her up in a high ponytail.
For a moment it took me a minute to register her outfit. I was used to women inviting me back to their hotel rooms and coming out in the skimpiest lingerie they had. Most times I was used to complete nudity, but then again I was not used to having long dinners and even entertaining watching television with them.
Something like this was foreign to me. Almost normal and I wondered how many other people Amanda had shared this normalcy with and what did it mean to her.
"Are you going to sit down?" She took a large sip of her milkshake and smacked her lips together.
I blinked, unable to find the correct words to say to her, "What is going on here?"
"We're going to watch teli like good childhood friends and then you're going to leave once we finish all this food," she innocently blinked at me. "What? Is something wrong?"
Before I could answer her my phone rang breaking me out of whatever spell she had put me under. I quickly took it out of my trouser pocket and could not help the dreadful feeling I had when I saw it was my father. He must have seen the news as well.
I quickly left the suite to answer it and the flood of Italian curses that followed from him did nothing to calm my nerves. It seemed I had caused such a stir that he left his trip early and was already in America.
"Amy I have to go," I sighed once I entered the suite again.
She looked over at me and simply nodded, "Goodnight."
"Goodnight," I gave her a firm nod before I marched out of her suite.
