Week Two of Summer
The lake house was exactly as Riley had described massive, beautiful, and right on the water.
Three stories of rustic luxury with a private dock, a boat house, and enough bedrooms to sleep twelve people comfortably. The perfect place for one week of pure, uncomplicated fun before college responsibilities took over.
"This is incredible!" Sophie exclaimed as we piled out of the cars. "Riley, why didn't you tell us your parents were rich?"
"You knew my parents were rich," Riley said, grabbing bags from the trunk. "I literally go to Blackwood Academy."
"Yeah, but there's Blackwood rich and then there's 'owns a lake house that could be in a magazine' rich."
"Fair distinction."
We'd driven up in a caravan Kai driving me and Maya, Sophie and Riley in his car, and Emma, Jason, and a few others in a third vehicle. Ten people total for one week of summer perfection.
