Elena barely slept.
Adrian's confession replayed in her mind over and over again — the shattered glass, the storm in his eyes, the raw truth in his voice when he practically revealed that he was falling for her.

By dawn, Elena was sitting on the balcony attached to her bedroom, wrapped in a light robe, staring at the quiet garden below. The sun hadn't fully risen yet, but the sky was turning the soft color of fading blush — delicate, gentle, the opposite of everything she felt inside.
Her thoughts were interrupted by the soft sound of the balcony doors sliding open.
