As soon as Rudeia was brought to the inn, Freya was overjoyed, and yet her anger didn't settle one bit. Staring and glaring at everyone, she guided Charlotte to her room, where the unconscious body of her son was placed in her bed. Once she was sure that he was okay, she walked back to the inn's dining hall to address the situation's end.
The customers were no longer there, and even the employees had already headed to bed, leaving just the gathering of the adventurer women who accompanied her son, along with the merchant and his slave. Looking to Custer first, she placed her hands on her hips and heaved a hefty sigh.
"I guess I will have to work for you after all." While she couldn't believe that the flimsy boy had saved her son, she was far from someone who would back off on her word. "Just let me know when you're opening, I'll try to hand my responsibility down to someone else here."
"I needed some fresh air anyway," Aura responded while Zephyr gave only a subtle nod.
Shifting a little in place, the mother pressed her lips together with an awkward expression on her face. She'd judged a book by its cover, and now, she was feeling terrible because the same person had saved her son. Her feelings only intensified as her gaze turned to the others. But not for the better, but rather the worst.
"And you folks! I should shove a studded stump up your rears for what you put my heart through…" Stomping her way closer, Freya grabbed Charlotte by the collar and whispered next to her ear. "You stay away from my son. I know why you're always following him. I've ignored it enough, so don't test my patience, you half-wit."
Pushing the woman away, she made her stumble a little. However, ignoring the utter look of shock on her face, Freya shifted her attention to Roxanne and Audrey.
"I thought at least you might have some sense, Roxanne, but I guess I was wrong." Shaking her head with folded hands, she stared into her eyes, angrily. "You're a good-looking and a good girl, and my idiot son follows you like an even bigger moron than his aunt, but you should know better than to lead him somewhere so horrific. That too without a proper plan!"
Blankly staring at Freya at first, Roxanne didn't understand what she meant by the first part of her sentence. However, as she placed more thought into her words, she realized what Rudy's mother had said, and a streak of red blush instantly took over her rosy cheeks.
"O-ohh…I'm sorry, but I didn't know," she responded, visibly flustered by the realization.
"Oh come on, he's had a crush on you since you two were children, so drop the act already." Looking at Audrey last, Freya wanted to smack the little rogue in the face, but refrained from doing so. "What do I even say to you?"
Looking at her stepdaughter, the child of another man and his woman before her, Freya never felt too fondly about Audrey, and the events of the day were dropping her impression of her to an even lower level.
"Don't be like your father, enough of this adventuring crap!" Glancing across everyone's face, Freya decided to put her foot down on the matter. "I do not care if a goddess blessed him or any of you, for that matter, I do not care if the world is going to end a hundred years from now on, I only care for your lives and that of my son, so drop it now or you're never meeting my son, and will no longer be welcome to stay here!"
Watching the women flinching to Freya's screams, Zephyr and Aura knew which one from the pack they had to reel in first if they wanted to tame the rest of the women around Rudy. The man by himself wasn't much, but his mother and his companions could easily boost him up in quite a few ways. Perhaps confidence was one of them, but after having his dick flashed all over town, that possibility was completely out of the way.
'I wanna watch you slowly break her~' Aura whispered through her mind to her husband, and a smile was shared between the two. 'A fierce woman, always a joy to corrupt. I wonder how long before she stands up for you like she does for her son. Probably after the first taste of your superiority, ahaha~'
"Now just go to bed, I'll talk to you tomorrow!" One last complaint, and Freya sent everyone except for her son's saviors to their rooms. Watching the girls disappear upstairs, she stood beside Zephyr and said. "Sorry about…everything."
Turning her body towards him, she took a deep breath and offered a handshake.
"And thank you for saving my son. I'll be sure to repay you for it once your shop is ready for business." Taking her hand, Zephyr gave her a smile and spoke in a voice that befitted his boyish appearance.
"It was the least I could do to get such a beautiful receptionist," letting out a chuckle, he added. "I'm sure there will be a long line of people in my store thanks to you, so I should be the one thanking you."
Scoffing at his words, Freya broke the handshake and wore a weak smile.
"Well…I suppose it won't be any different from my job here. Being the eye candy that attracts customers." As her smile weakened with every passing second, she placed a hand on Zephyr's shoulder. "Anyways, you should go get some sleep. I also need to check on my son."
Glancing at Aura for a moment, a question from a while ago returned to Freya's head.
"To be honest, if you can afford a slave, I'm sure you're good enough at business already. Still, I'll do my best to help you get settled in this town." Pulling her hand away from the young man, she waved at the devils and went off on her way.
Watching her hips gyrating like a pendulum as she walked, both Aura and Zephyr couldn't wait until she joined the fiend's harem. Perhaps she would be the first to succumb to his corruption, but since the options were plenty, who could really tell?
