The air was still and heavy, the kind that pressed against your ears before a storm. Lavesh stood in the same clearing, surrounded by the corpses of wolves he'd already slain. The silence felt wrong—unnatural.
Then he heard it.
A low growl. Soft at first, almost beneath hearing, but growing deeper, rougher, until it seemed to shake the roots of the forest.
He froze, every sense on alert.
> Something's coming.
His newly heightened Sense stat pulsed like a sixth sense. There—he heard the faintest crunch of dirt, too deliberate for wind.
He slid silently behind a nearby tree.
And then he saw it.
A massive shadow emerged from the forest—a wolf taller than a man, its fur glinting silver-black, eyes burning crimson. A red label hovered above its head, pulsing like a warning beacon:
> [Wolf King – Level ???]
Lavesh's heartbeat quickened.
> So… that's why the others came here. It smelled their blood.
He clenched his jaw. "Status window."

Another warning window flashed instantly in red.
> [Warning!]
You have exceeded safe potion limits.
Severe strain on the body will occur in 5 minutes.
And then a second message appeared.
> [Alert!]
Wolf King has detected your presence.
The ground shuddered as the massive creature roared, tearing through the tree Lavesh had hidden behind. Splinters exploded into the air, slicing his cheek.
"Damn!" He leapt sideways just in time as the trunk crashed down in pieces.
The Wolf King's eyes locked on him. For a brief second, Lavesh saw intelligence in them—cold, calculating hunger.
He ran straight toward it.
The first clash was thunderous. Steel bit into hide, claw tore through flesh. Sparks flew as the wolf's iron claws struck his blade.
Lavesh ducked under a swing, slicing the beast's leg. Blood sprayed, hot and black. The wolf howled, slashing wildly. One strike hit Lavesh across the ribs—he screamed, stumbling back.
"Not yet," he growled, yanking two Recovery Potions from his belt and downing them fast.
> [HP Restored: +80]
The world spun from pain and potion, but he rushed forward again.
He vaulted into the air, sword raised high—then opened his inventory mid-jump.
> "Drop: Wood Trunk ×1."
A massive log materialized and crashed onto the Wolf King's back, pinning it for a second.
Lavesh landed hard, rolled, and charged. But as he did—the beast was gone.
His eyes widened. "What—?"
The monster appeared behind him, mid-air, claws extended.
> It can jump that high?
He barely raised his sword when the claws struck.
Pain tore through him.
> [Critical Hit Received!]
HP Dropping Rapidly!
Blood spilled from his shoulder, but he roared through clenched teeth, "NOT YET!"
He launched forward, blade flashing faster than before, cutting through the air in furious arcs.
> [Warning: Potion Overload—60 seconds remaining!]
The Wolf King dodged, countered, and attacked again, but Lavesh's body moved on pure instinct. The more the wolf struck, the faster he became, every muscle screaming, every nerve on fire.
"WHY—WON'T—YOU—DIE!"
Something inside him snapped.
His pupils shrank; his vision burned red. His movements doubled in speed, power, and precision.
For ten terrifying seconds, he wasn't human. He was wrath given form.
He dashed, sidestepped, spun—each motion fluid and ruthless. His blade slashed the wolf's limbs, chest, flank, neck—until finally he leapt, driving his sword straight into its forehead.
A tremor rippled through the ground.
The Wolf King convulsed, let out a final deafening roar—and collapsed.
> [Wolf King – F-Rank Monster Defeated]

Lavesh fell to his knees, chest heaving, his vision fading to black.
> [Body Condition: Critical. Remaining Health <30%. Recovery Potions Ineffective.]
He laughed weakly. "So… this is it, huh?"
But as he looked at the fallen beast, the system chimed one last time—

Before he could even breathe, another window appeared:

He opened his inventory and held the parchment glowing crimson.

He smiled faintly. "No point holding back now."
He ripped the page in half.

The glow faded. The forest was quiet again—except for the soft chime of another reward window opening.

The light faded, and the clearing looked like a battlefield turned treasure room.
Lavesh smiled faintly, exhaustion finally catching him.
> This… this is just the beginning.
He sheathed the A-Rank Mortal Sword, pocketed the Ring of Faerie, and looked once more at the Wolf King's massive corpse.
The scent of blood lingered. The trees whispered. And in the far distance, something howled again—deeper, older.
He chuckled softly.
"Alright," he muttered. "If this world wants monsters... I'll become one."
And with that, Lavesh Suthar, the first true Slayer of Abyss, walked back toward the dying sun—stronger, bloodier, and more alive than ever.
