Chapter 86: A Bold Konan
Alex flew out, hovering in front of Konan. [My body feels pretty good. I'm about halfway recovered. Konan, you really don't need to be in such a hurry, constantly using your chakra to nourish me.]
His rapid recovery was largely thanks to the massive amount of chakra Konan had been supplying. But constantly refining chakra had left her looking listless, with faint dark circles under her eyes.
For Alex, recovering a few days sooner or later didn't matter. But Konan clearly didn't think so. She held Alex in her hands. "Alex, you assist me in battle, and you've saved my life several times. You're injured now, so of course I have to do everything I can to help you recover. A little chakra and no sleep is nothing at all."
Compared to what Alex had done for her, what she was doing was far from enough. At this stage, she could only do things Alex liked to repay him a little.
A strange light flickered in Konan's eyes. She suddenly stood up. Her pajamas slid off like water, revealing her fiery figure to Alex. Bathed in the silver moonlight, she looked like the most perfect work of art.
She carried Alex toward the large bed. "Alex, it's late. It's time to rest. The night is long. You should enjoy it~"
Her usually cold voice now held a trace of seduction.
...
The next day, the sun was bright.
Alex woke up leisurely upon that soft place. A hand was gently stroking his paper body. Last night had indeed been very long, and very memorable. It was amazing, simply amazing. It was hard to imagine that Konan, who always presented a cold exterior, could make such alluring and seductive expressions and movements. The extreme contrast provided an absolutely supreme level of stimulation.
Perhaps it was because Alex had been pierced by the Susanoo arrow yesterday, which had frightened Konan, that she had become so bold. She had performed actions even more stimulating than usual, as a way to comfort Alex, and also to comfort herself, releasing the stress and fatigue from the previous day's battle.
"Alex, you're awake," Konan said softly. Her expression had returned to its usual coolness, but the tips of her ears were flushed red, showing that her heart was still fluttering and hard to suppress. I was so bold last night. I feel like I lost my head. How could I have done those shameful things... Thinking back on it now, her heart was pounding like a frightened deer, and she felt incredibly shy.
[Good morning, Konan.]
Alex pretended not to notice Konan's lack of calm and dressed her as usual. Even a Kage-level expert is still a woman, after all. It's only natural to be shy about these kinds of... play.
A short while later, Konan had returned to normal and opened her door. As expected, Kameda was once again standing a short distance away, waiting. Seeing her emerge, he hurried forward. "Lady Konan, breakfast is ready. Would you like to dine in the pavilion, or shall I bring it to you?"
Konan took a step out, then stepped back into the room. "Bring it here." After breakfast, she needed to fuse the bloodline in her room, so she wouldn't go to the pavilion. "What about Honoka and Ryūzetsu?"
Kameda maintained his bow. "The two of them have already eaten. They are in the training room practicing ninjutsu."
Konan was taken aback. She glanced back at the clock and realized it was almost ten. They had indeed played too late and too passionately last night, causing her to wake up later than usual.
"They said that after witnessing that terrifying battle yesterday, they deeply felt their own weakness and powerlessness. They want to train hard, hoping to be of help to you in the future, Lady Konan."
"Is that so..."
Konan wasn't optimistic about this. Ever since learning the secrets of the ninja world and about the Ōtsutsuki, she understood that this was a world shackled by bloodlines. Without a bloodline, it was practically impossible for an ordinary person to break through their ceiling of strength through hard work alone. The only exception was that oddity, Might Guy. But even he had a strong natural talent for taijutsu, and it was only through extremely arduous training from a young age that he gained the opportunity to unleash such super-strong power. If others tried to train like Might Guy, they would sooner or later break their bodies.
However, Konan was still satisfied with Honoka and Ryūzetsu's efforts. Being able to do it and trying to do it were two different things. It was good that they had this mindset and drive.
Konan looked at the short, plump Kameda and asked, "How is your training with the ninjutsu I gave you a few days ago? You can ask me if there's anything you don't understand."
Kameda instantly lowered his head, ashamed. "My apologies, Lady Konan. I have disappointed you. Your subordinate's ninja aptitude is inferior. I'm afraid I will be stuck at the chunin level for my entire life. Those powerful ninjutsu you gave me... I need a very long time to even understand their meaning. With my chakra control and chakra levels, I am destined to be unable to learn those A-rank ninjutsu, let alone cast them."
Even though Kameda had long since accepted his fate, he still felt a trace of unwillingness in his heart. As a ninja, who didn't want to learn and master more powerful ninjutsu and strength? Unfortunately, he was limited by his aptitude. If you can't learn it, you can't learn it. If you can't use it, you can't use it. It was a cruel reality that couldn't be changed, only passively accepted. At least, he couldn't change it.
Konan watched Kameda's somewhat dejected back as he left, thinking of ways to increase her subordinates' strength. Her own power would inevitably grow stronger and stronger. If Kameda and the others remained stagnant, even if she wanted to use them, their usefulness would surely diminish. If their strength was too weak, she also couldn't entrust them with important matters. As for the Chimera Technique... setting aside whether she would teach it, with their aptitude, they wouldn't be able to learn it at all.
Alex floated nearby, sensing Konan's thoughts. To rule the ninja world in the future, she would indeed need a powerful force. How could it work if her subordinates weren't strong? The vast ninja world couldn't possibly be managed by just the two of them. How would they have any time to have fun then?
Alex floated in front of Konan: [Konan, no need to worry about these things. Improving Kameda's and the others' strength is simple. We just need to transplant Hashirama's cells.]
If you lack power, just add Hashirama cells. This was practically a law of the ninja world. Danzō, Obito, and even Madara Uchiha had all used them. All gave five-star reviews. As for the powerful rejection during the transplantation process, Alex believed that with his and Konan's strength, they could solve it quickly. At that time, all their subordinates would have Wood Release. Then get them Sharingan, and their strength would be more or less up to the minimum requirement. They couldn't get that much stronger anyway. When it came to truly powerful enemies, it would still be up to him and Konan.
...
Inside the room, after finishing the breakfast Kameda had brought, Konan looked at Alex and asked, "Alex, what's our next target?"
Alex thought for a moment: [Let's fuse the Uchiha bloodline first. We can decide what to do after interrogating Jūgo.]
Jūgo was related to natural energy and Sage Mode. It was better to master the Sharingan and use genjutsu to get information first, then decide on the next target.
"Alright. We'll fuse the Uchiha bloodline first." Konan nodded and immediately activated her Dance of the Shikigami, her entire body turning to paper.
The sheet of white paper, soaked red with blood, floated gently in front of her.
Alex immediately wanted to interject, but just as quickly stopped himself. [Konan, this time, you should use the Chimera Technique to fuse it yourself.]
He had taught her many times, and she had personally experienced the process of a successful fusion. With Konan's aptitude, even if she couldn't fully understand the Chimera Technique, she should be able to succeed just by following the steps.
Konan stared at the bloody paper, eager to try. She nodded. "Okay. I'll do it myself this time. Anyway, Alex is right here. Even if a problem comes up, he can take over in time."
