Chapter 7 - Otherworldly beings

Chapter 7

As we fell into the hole, the world above us seemed to disappear, replaced by darkness and uncertainty. We landed with a thud, the air knocked out of us.

"Are you okay?" I asked, my voice shaking slightly.

Vivian groaned, her voice muffled. "I think so… I don't know."

Johan struggled to his feet, his eyes adjusting to the darkness. "We need to find a way out of here," he said, his voice firm.

We began to search for an exit…,

The hole was deep, and the wall was rough and rocky. We had to be careful not to slip and fall.

As we searched…

We stumbled upon a narrow passageway, partially hidden by the darkness. It was small, but it looked like it might lead us out.

"Let's go this way," Johan said, his voice determined.

We followed him, our hearts pounding in anticipation. The passageway twisted and turned, leading us deeper into the earth.

Suddenly…

We saw a blue Color-like glimmer of light in the distance. Our hearts leapt with hope, and we quickened our pace.

As we emerged from the passageway…

We passed through the glimmer of light, which felt like a space created by mana, into an underground chamber lit by a series of flickering stones. The roofing disappeared into darkness, and the walls were lined with glowing stone carvings.

"What is this place?" Vivian asked, her voice full of wonder.

I shook my head. "I don't know, but it looks like we have stumbled upon something incredible and I could sense mana from it."

I should be the one to be able to sense that given my skills, but he senses better than I do. "Vivian said in her thoughts."

Johan's eyes scanned the chamber…

His expression was intense, his mind racing with possibilities. "This could be the key to understanding what's going on," he said.

As we marveled at the cave's structure, the sound of footsteps echoed through the cave lit by the gemstone placed on the wall. Our hearts lifted with hope - perhaps we'd finally find an exit or meet someone who could guide us. The footsteps grew louder, thudding against the stone floor, and we prepared for a potential encounter.

Suddenly, a massive green monster emerged from the shadows, wielding a rough bat club. Its appearance was reminiscent of the Incredible Hulk, but its features were distorted and ugly.

"Intruder… I destroy intruder…" it growled.

The monster charged, swinging its club with incredible force. We dodged just in time, avoiding a devastating blow that would have crushed us. The air was displaced by the club's passage, creating a powerful wave that rippled across the ground.

We steeled ourselves for battle, positioning ourselves to take down the monster. Johan led the charge, with Vivian providing ranged support from the rear, while I took the center. "I sprinted forward, I thought to myself, ' This is it. We're taking this monster down.' I glanced at Johan and Vivian, trusting that they were prepared to attack." Dodging the monster's swings and creating an opening for Vivian to strike from a distance. Johan seized the opportunity, landing a decisive blow that felled the creature.

"Felt easy," Johan said, looking disappointed.

Vivian let out a sigh of relief. "I could have died from the smell alone." She smiled, her eyes shining with excitement. "We've grown stronger since the last time.

We ventured deeper into the cave, and its vastness became increasingly apparent. We stumbled upon another path inhabited by six massive green monsters. Johan's eyes lit up with a competitive spark.

"Let's take them on and see who can take down the most," he suggested, with a grin spreading across his face.

Vivian's expression turned incredulous.

"You can't be serious. That's suicidal."

Johan's enthusiasm only grew. "Sounds perfect for someone like you to test their strength…"

Before Vivian could respond, Johan charged forward, unsheathing a bony blade. He struck with precision, taking down the monsters with ease.

Vivian's eyes widened in surprise. "You are…"

I coordinated with Vivian to boost her morale and confidence, and together we took down three of the monsters.

Johan, meanwhile, dispatched the remaining three with swift efficiency, finishing at the same time as us.

The outcome was fantastic for our growing strength and coordination. As we caught our breath, Vivian turned to Johan. "You're something else." She looks more confident in herself than before.

Johan chuckled, sheathing his blade. "Just getting started," he said.

As we ventured deeper into the cave, we stumbled upon a grand chamber with a massive entrance. The room was filled with numerous green monsters, each with distinct features. A booming voice echoed from the front, "intruders, what brings you to my territory?"

We turned to face the speaker, and our eyes widened as we took in the sight of an enormous green monster. He sat on a stone throne, adorned in forged skin clothing, exuding an aura of authority and power. Vivian's eyes were fixed on the giant monster, astonished by its size.

Johan, on the other hand, seemded undaunted, a smirk spreading across his face. "Now this would be challenging," he said, his voice laced with excitement.

Vivian's expression turned concerned. "How are we going to attack? They outnumber us, and there are too many to take on at once."

I shared her concerns, my mind racing with the possibilities. Would the giant monster send his minions first or would they all attack at once? Before I could ponder further, Johan shouted, "Cover me!" as he charged forward, taking the lead in the battle.

We swiftly moved into position, our boddy reacted spontaneously preparing for the impeding onslaught. The air was electrifying with tension as the monsters began to close in us.

Monsters swarmed around us, their snarls and growls filling the air. Johan drew his sword, swiftly taking down a beast with a precise and deadly strike. Vivian covered our rear, eyes scanning the shadows for potential threats, while I stood guard beside her, protecting her from harm
