Chapter 184 - The Concept of Humanity

In such worlds, extremely powerful mysterious forces might exist.

For the sake of reproduction, even ordinary people could accomplish many extraordinary feats.

The world itself could be easily manipulated. Hypnosis, time manipulation, cognition alteration, and similar items or abilities were commonplace.

Even without descending in one's true body, there was still a risk of being affected.

"Elysia, I advise you not to descend into this kind of world in any physical form. You should know the reason." A faint trace of tsundere undertone colored Mobius' voice.

"Hehe~ Mobius, are you worried about me?" A sweet smile bloomed across Elysia's face.

"I just do not want you to be contaminated and drag me down with you." Mobius crossed her arms and snorted. "You are not by Mei's side. Aren't you afraid she will be out there attracting flowers and stirring grass?"

"What does that matter? No matter how many girls are around Mei, I will always love her~ Love every single one of them too~" Elysia tilted her head slightly, her pink eyes shimmering with a light that seemed to embrace all things.

"You really do not mind at all!" Mobius was utterly speechless. With Elysia's personality, she was probably thinking—whatever Mei liked, she liked as well. That was why she was so at ease.

"Oh my, what is there to mind? Everyone living happily together—just imagining it makes me feel blessed~" Elysia narrowed her eyes gently, her pink gaze filled with longing for the future.

Mobius?!

Su looked at the Mobius before him, who seemed almost as though she were in a controlled collapse state.

In his memory, Mobius had been a mad yet pure scholar, someone who would stop at nothing in her pursuit of truth.

Because their ideals differed, he had never gotten along with the Mobius of his own world.

But the Mobius before him felt entirely different.

The obsession and madness were gone. What remained was a calm detachment, as though she had seen through everything.

Faced with their sudden appearance, she did not display Elysia's curiosity or confusion. It was as if she had already understood everything the moment she laid eyes on them.

"..."

The instant Hua saw Mobius, her body reacted with instinctive fear.

It was like the fear humans felt upon seeing a snake—an instinct carved into DNA.

Saintess Kallen listened to their exchange before speaking softly. "Pardon the interruption, Miss Elysia. This is your territory, correct?"

"Oh my, Kallen~?" Elysia folded her arms beneath her chest and revealed a charming smile. "That is right. This is my territory~"

"Ah~ My apologies. I was so surprised to see Kevin and the others that I forgot to host you properly~" Elysia brushed aside the hair by her ear and opened her arms with a bright smile.

The next second, everyone was enveloped by a powerful spatial force and instantly transferred.

The Vassal Empire.

Within the grand hall.

"Dear guest, your tea."

Saintess Kallen turned her head to see a blonde maid standing at her side.

The maid gave a slight curtsy, holding a silver tray with both hands. On it rested a steaming cup of black tea and a small, exquisitely crafted pastry.

"Thank you," Saintess Kallen said softly as she accepted the teacup.

"There is no need for thanks," the blonde maid replied, her voice gentle as water. "Should you require anything else, please do not hesitate to give your instructions."

"Very well." Saintess Kallen nodded.

The maid bowed again before stepping aside to stand quietly.

"Idiot, watch your image." The Red Queen helplessly pulled at the Skynet loli, whose mouth was stuffed full of food from being fed by the maids.

On the ship, they had always replenished energy directly and had never needed to consume food.

Skynet had only recently become a mechanical lifeform and was curious about everything.

After tasting delicious food, she naturally wanted more.

Kevin looked toward Elysia and asked in a deep voice, "Elysia, in another world, did you also become a Herrscher after starting as a human?"

"Oh my, that is quite a difficult question to answer~" Elysia folded one arm under her chest while resting her chin lightly on the other hand, a hint of mischief flashing through her pink eyes. "Why not guess~?"

"..."

Kevin fell silent.

In Elysia, he had once seen the most beautiful qualities of humanity—her willingness to sacrifice herself to protect mankind, her unwavering belief in humanity, and her firm conviction that she herself was human.

That was the Elysia he had known.

"She was born an elf," Mobius suddenly interjected, bluntly exposing Elysia's identity. "In her magical world, dark elves, forest elves, hill dwarves, gray dwarves, four-eyed folk, horned folk, rainbow-eyed humans, and the like are all classified as human species."

She paused, her tone laced with complaint. "But in my opinion, this woman's high elf race should have been classified alongside dragons or demons as a special species. Her own mother directly rewrote the world's rules and forcibly stuffed high elves into the human category. It is absurd."

She had always wanted to complain about that.

Born at the very apex of that world's races as a high elf, she was like a certain yellow-furred being who was clearly a god yet stubbornly insisted on calling himself human.

"Is that so?" Kevin's gaze turned complicated. The Elysia of another world was truly an elf.

So she had not chosen to sacrifice herself because of humanity's suspicion? That was good...

"Mobius, saying that makes me rather sad, you know~"

"Then cry! When we were together, it is not as though I have never seen you crying and throwing a tantrum—"

A faint blush flashed through Elysia's pink eyes. In an instant, she teleported behind Mobius and covered her mouth, preventing her from continuing.

Such private matters—how could they be spoken of so casually in front of outsiders!

Su: "..."

Kevin: "..."

Their relationship was actually this good?!

Hua: "..."

Why did this feel so intensely discordant?

Saintess Kallen: "?"

Crying and throwing a tantrum?

"..."

Melin, meanwhile, observed quietly and discreetly, lowering her presence as much as possible.

Though she excelled at scheming, when facing figures like Mobius or the Red Queen—beings with countless trump cards and abilities bordering on cheating—she could only be toyed with in their palms.

Human beings had limits.

No matter how skilled humans were at intrigue and manipulation, their inherent limits remained.

As for those who surpassed humanity in every aspect by dozens or even hundreds of times, could they still be considered human?

In Melin's view, Kevin, Su, Hua, and the other MANTISes could no longer be regarded as purely human.

Even someone like Saintess Kallen, a descendant of the Kaslana bloodline, deserved a question mark.

However, after witnessing humans from other worlds with entirely different origins, Melin stopped dwelling on such matters.

Strictly speaking, after several cycles of reincarnation, the humans of the Honkai world could likely be considered "Honkai-created humans."

The original humans who had evolved naturally had long since ceased to exist.
