Grumbling, you quickly dash to the bar. "GUYS! MARINES" Came your yell. They shrug it off. With a groan, you follow it with "IT'S GARP!" they bolt out while you slowly walk after them. You notice shanks wasnt there. When you whip your head around, you are met eith the sight of shanks and garp blankly staring at each other "crap!" You bolt to shanks, and hug his leg, playing the part of an adorable little girl. 'charisma dont fail me now...' "dad! There you are!" The adults both pause. Garp raised his eyebrows slightly. You look up at him with tears in your eyes. "What's going on? Please don't arrest my dad, mister! He was only trying to find a safe place for me to live, since the sea is so dangerous!" To really sell it, you let out a pitiful sniffle. Shanks just STARED at you. Garps gaze faltered. "The hell? Shanks has a kid. Never thought I'd see the day!" The large man bellowed in laughter. "Alright, alright, kiddo. Since your old man wasn't causing trouble for once, I'll let this one slide for today. Oi! Red hair!" Shanks perked up at being called. "Since you're looking for somewhere to trust your kid to, leave it to me! I'm taking my grandson to an old friend of mine. She'll take care of your brat too!"
You don't even give Shanks time to protest. "He says thank you too!" you chirp, still clinging to his leg with the fakest, sparkliest smile imaginable. Garp barks out another laugh so loud it rattles your brain. "BAHAHA! Spirited one, ain't she? She'll fit right in with Luffy!"
Your internal monologue is a different story.
'Fit right in? With Luffy? That means Dadan's bandit den. Oh god, I'm gonna smell like booze and sweat for months.'
Shanks opens his mouth again, and you give him the world's most warning glare. He falters—then sighs, scratching the back of his head. "Guess I don't have much of a choice, huh?"
You beam, throwing your hands up in mock cheer. "Yay! New guardian!"
The system dings.

You nearly fist-pump right there, but play it off as a cough. Garp doesn't notice—too busy slapping Shanks on the back like they're old drinking buddies. "Don't worry, Red-Hair. I'll make sure she's safe. She'll get tough livin' with Dadan!"
You mutter, "Define safe…"
Dawn Island – Mount Colubo
"Why are we hiking up a mountain again?" you whine, dragging your feet behind Luffy and Garp. The kid is somehow bouncing even while being chained to his grandpa's sense of justice.
"Training!" Garp booms, hauling both of you like luggage. "You brats'll get strong breathing mountain air!"
"I think I'm already strong enough, thanks," you squeak as he leaps up another ledge. "Emotionally, at least!"
"Emotional strength don't count!" he declares, laughing again. You groan.
Finally, after an eternity of dodging low-hanging branches and Garp's ridiculous "tough love," you reach a rundown shack surrounded by trees. Bandits mill around lazily, and one burly woman stands at the door with a scowl that could shatter glass.
"Yo, Dadan! Got some deliveries for ya!" Garp yells.
The woman looks horrified. "More brats?! GARP! I already got one menace!"
"You'll manage!" Garp replies cheerfully, plopping Luffy down next to you. "This one's Luffy. The other's… uh…" He squints down at you.
"Uta!" you supply quickly. "And I'm not a menace."
Dadan snorts. "You look like trouble."
"Compliment taken."
Inside, it's smoky, messy, and smells like cheap booze. You resist the urge to gag. Garp leaves after "kindly" tossing a bag of beli on the table. "Feed 'em or toss 'em, just keep 'em alive!"
"WAIT—" you start, but he's already gone. Great. Abandoned by Garp. Classic One Piece parenting.
Dadan groans. "Fine. Just—don't set anything on fire. Ace! Get down here!"
You perk up slightly. Ace. Ten years old right now, right? That means this is before he warms up to anyone.
Footsteps echo down the stairs, and a freckled boy with sharp eyes appears, glaring immediately. "Who're they?"
Luffy waves. "I'm Luffy! Grandpa says we're brothers now!"
Ace just turns away with a snort. "Tch. Don't need more idiots around here."
Luffy puffs up. "Hey! I'm not an idiot!"
You grin. "...That's debatable."
Both boys whip their heads toward you. You just smile innocently.
Luffy: scandalized.
Ace: almost—not quite—smirking.
'Gotcha,' you think.
The system dings again.
[New Quest: Make Ace talk to you willingly.]
[Bonus: Make him laugh.]

You glance up at Ace. "Sooo… what do you do for fun? Scowl? Brood dramatically by trees?"
He gives you a sharp glare. "What's it to you?"
"Nothing. Just checking if I should bring you a black cloak and tragic backstory music."
Luffy snorts. Then bursts into outright laughter. "BAHAHA! Tragic backstory music!"
Ace blinks, like he's trying not to laugh. His mouth twitches. Progress.
You smirk. "Don't worry, I won't tell anyone you smiled."
"I didn't!" he snaps immediately.
"Uh-huh. Sure."
Dadan looks between you three like she's already exhausted. "Great. Two loudmouths and a smartass. I'm doomed."
That night, after everyone falls asleep, you sit on the porch of Dadan's shack, staring up at the stars. The system quietly hums to life again.
