Chapter 40 - Chapter Thirty-Eight: Truce

Zoro and Sanji attack together, forcing Ohm to dodge quickly.

Ohm swings his sword at Sanji, but Robin reacts fast. She uses her power and grabs his hand.

"Nice one robin!" Usopp said from a distance, watching the fight.

Zoro steps forward. "Two Sword Style: Rashomon!"

The attack hits Ohm, sending him crashing into some ruins.

Zoro leaps forward, attacking again. "Two Sword Style: Rashomon!"

Ohm blocks it. The swords clash with loud sparks, shaking the ground around them.

Sanji kicks Ohm in the face, sending him crashing into a tree.

Sanji attacks again, fast and precise. Ohm uses Mantra and dodge the attack.

Suddenly, hundreds of hands pop up all over Ohm's body.

"Slap!" Robin said. The hands start slapping him from every direction.

"Damn it!" Ohm shouted. "Get these things off me!"

The hands disappear. Robin breathes heavily. "Sorry guys… that's my limit."

"That's good enough, thanks Robin," Zoro said.

Zoro moves in for the final strike. "Three Sword Style: Dragon Twister!"

The spinning attack flings Ohm into the air. He crashes back down, defeated.

"We won!" Usopp said, running toward the others.

Sparks of lightning danced across the sky—and suddenly, one zapped Usopp.

"Usopp!" Zoro shouted.

"One down," a voice said.

Everyone slowly turned around and saw a man sitting on top of one of the ruins.

"To think all four of my priests would fall this quickly," the man said, shaking his head in disbelief.

"Who the hell are you?" Zoro asked.

"Who, me… I'm God," the man said, teleporting in midair.

"Well, it's time I kick your ass, God," Zoro said, grinning.

In the blink of an eye, Zoro fell to the ground, smoke rising from his body.

"When did he move?" Sanji muttered.

Suddenly, Sanji felt a presence behind him.

A voice whispers into his ear.

"In an instant."

Sanji spins around—

No one was there.

"Calm down, boy," Eneru said as he zipped around Sanji in flashes of lightning.

He tapped Sanji on the forehead.

"Ten thousand volts shock."

ZAP!

Sanji dropped to the ground, smoke rising from his clothes.

Eneru pointed his finger at Robin.

"Shock."

A bolt burst from his fingertip—

Robin screamed as the lightning hit her, she fall to the ground twitching.

"Four down," Eneru said with a smile. "Five more to go."

Zap.

He vanished.

Meanwhile, elsewhere…

"Are you feeling any better?" Nami asked Emma, who leaned against a tree.

Emma gagged—

"Blaaagh—!"

She vomited, hand over her mouth. "I'm fine… I'm fine…"

"Blaagh—!"

"It seems you guys didn't get too far," a voice said.

Emma's eyes lit up.

"Noah—" she said—then immediately

vomited again.

"Blaagh—!"

"How did you find us?" Nami asked. "And why is the cannon guy with you?"

"We called a truce," Noah said. "And Luffy was singing really loud… so it was easy to find you."

"That moron…" Nami muttered. "I'm going to kill him."

"Hey guys! Look what I found—a giant beetle!" Luffy said proudly.

Nami ran over and smacked him on the head.

"You idiot! Why were you singing?!"

"Isn't that what pirates do when they're looking for gold?" Luffy asked.

Nami slapped her face.

"Oh brother…"

Noah laughed softly.

"Cannon guy, why are you here?" Luffy asked.

"He's with us now," Noah said, walking toward Emma. He placed a hand on her shoulder. "Are you okay?"

"I… I think so—"

"Blaaagh—!" She vomited again.

"Let's see if I can fix this. Vector Manipulation—Heal."

A soft wave spread from Noah's hand.

"How do you feel now?" he asked.

Emma blinked.

"Actually… I feel good. What did you do?"

"I neutralized the vectors in your stomach," Noah said. "It erased the nausea."

"I didn't know you could do that," Emma said.

"You saw me heal Luffy back in Alabasta," Noah said. "Don't you remember?"

"Yeah, you healed wounds—not stomach pains," Emma replied. "You might be every pregnant woman's dream."

"Wait—Emma, you're pregnant?!" Luffy shouted.

"No, she's not pregnant, you idiot!" Nami yelled.

"Oh. My bad," Luffy said with a big grin.

"Wyper," a voice said.

Noah turned sharp, hand on his sword.

"Who's that?" he asked, slowly drawing it.

A small girl ran out and hugged Wyper's leg.

"Are you alright, Wyper?" she asked in a tiny voice.

"WHAT ARE YOU DOING OUT HERE, AISA?!" Wyper shouted in panic.

"She's with me," a woman said as she walked out of the bushes.

"Raki? What are you doing out here?" Wyper asked.

Raki crossed her arms. "I'm joining the fight."

"No," Wyper said. "It's too dangerous. Eneru's warriors are everywhere."

Raki glared at him. "And? You think I can't fight? We've already lost so many people. I'm not hiding while you risk your life again."

"This has nothing to do with that!" Wyper snapped. "I told you—stay with the others!"

"And leave Aisa alone? She followed me," Raki yelled back.

Aisa looked down. "I… I didn't want to be alone. And I can hear things… scary things. The voices won't stop. Eneru is moving."

Wyper knelt down. "Aisa, it's too dangerous out here."

"So let me stay with you!" she cried.

Wyper clenched his jaw, torn between anger and fear.

Noah watched quietly.

Emma whispered, "This is awkward…"

Nami nodded. "Family drama in the middle of a war…"

Before Wyper could answer—

Rustling came from the trees.

Heavy footsteps.

Voices.

Shadows appearing through the leaves.

Wyper stood tall, hand on his cannon.

Three Shandorian warriors stepped out, holding their weapons tight.

All three raised their weapons and aimed at Noah and the others.

"It's alright, guys," Wyper said, raising a hand. "We called a truce. For now… we're working together until we defeat Eneru."

The warriors looked at Noah, Luffy, and the others with hard eyes…

But slowly lowered their weapons.

The uneasy alliance had begun.
