Chapter 31 - Chapter Twenty-Nine: Intruders

Conis gasped. "W-wait! They didn't mean any harm—"

Pagaya stepped forward. "Please, officers, they're guests!"

But the Sky Police shook their heads. "Rules are rules."

"Hold on," Nami said, frowning. "The old lady said we could enter for free!"

"That only covers the gate," the officer replied. "But you still entered Skypiea without paying the proper fee. That's a crime."

"What kind of messed-up system is that?!" Usopp cried.

Luffy stood up and stretched. "So what? If they want to fight, I'll fight!"

"No!" Conis stepped between them in a panic. "Please don't! Fighting them will only make things worse!"

Noah placed a hand on Luffy's shoulder. "Relax. Let's hear what the punishment is before you start punching people."

The Sky Police cleared their throats. "Since you entered illegally, you are now criminals. You may continue roaming Skypiea… but you will be judged by God Eneru."

Everyone froze.

"Eneru?" Robin asked. "Who's that?"

Conis tilted her head thoughtfully. "Eneru is… well, he's the God of Skypiea," she said quietly. "Everyone here fears him. He lives in the Upper Yard, far above us, and controls the entire island with his powers."

"The entire island?" Usopp asked, wide-eyed.

Conis nodded. "He's incredibly powerful. He can summon lightning, move faster than anyone, and his strength is unmatched. No one dares to challenge him.

"So… he's like a king?" Luffy asked, scratching his head.

"Not exactly," Conis said. "He thinks of himself as a god. He rules with fear, and only a few can even get close to him.

Emma frowned. "That sounds dangerous."

"It is," Conis admitted. "But… there are people who want to fight him, people who want to change Skypiea. And sometimes… outsiders like you get caught in the middle."

Noah leaned back, absorbing the information. "So he's powerful, feared, and basically untouchable… got it."

Conis smiled faintly. "Just… be careful. Eneru's not someone you want to underestimate."

"Pray he shows mercy."The officer said.

Luffy grinned. "Sounds fun."

"Luffy… that's not what he meant," Noah said.

Emma whispered, "This is bad. Really bad."

Conis lowered her head, trembling. "I'm… I'm so sorry. I wish we could've helped more."

Pagaya put a hand on her shoulder. "They'll be fine. They look strong."

"Strong isn't the issue," Nami muttered.

The Sky Police turned to leave. "Good luck. You're going to need it."

The door closed, leaving the crew in heavy silence.

Luffy suddenly stretched. "Well! Let's go explore!"

Everyone else groaned.

The crew walked back to the beach.

Everyone was tired. Everyone wanted to leave.

Luffy was kicking sand and not watching where he was going.

A small sky fox walked past him.

Luffy took one step forward…

…and stepped right on its tail.

The fox screamed.

Luffy screamed.

Everyone screamed.

The Sky Police, who were still nearby, ran over.

The officer stared at Luffy. "You injured a sky fox."

Luffy held the fox up. "I said sorry!"

"That doesn't matter," the officer said. "The fine is one billion beli."

"One BILLION?!" Usopp yelled so loud his voice cracked.

Nami grabbed Luffy by the face. "STOP. TOUCHING. ANIMALS."

Luffy blinked. "I didn't touch it. It touched me."

The fox slap luffy with its tail.

The officer wrote something on a clipboard. "Fine recorded. If you do not pay it, the crime will be added to your record."

Usopp fell to his knees. "We're going to jail forever."

Noah rubbed his forehead. "This island is cursed."

Sanji lit a cigarette. "This day gets worse every minute."

The Sky Police turned and walked away.

The crew stood there, silent.

Then Luffy pointed. "Let's explore!"

Everyone else shouted, "NO!"

"What if we just… sit down and don't do anything?" Usopp suggested, already lowering himself to the ground.

"Y-yeah!" Chopper agreed, plopping down beside him. "If we don't move, they can't fine us, right?"

So the crew ended up sitting around a small table beneath the huge sky-pumpkin tree, all of them stiff as statues, trying their hardest to look innocent.

Pagaya and Conis approached, Pagaya pushing his waver alongside him.

Nami immediately shot up from her seat. "Ah—Pagaya! Can I borrow your waver?"

Pagaya smiled warmly. "Of course. Feel free."

"Thanks!" Nami said, hopping onto it without hesitation.

Conis clasped her hands nervously. "I'm really sorry about the trouble with the Sky Police…"

"It's alright," Emma assured her gently. "Nobody's blaming you."

Nami pushed off—and the waver shot forward. "WOOOAAH—this thing is fast!" she yelled as she tore across the cloud sea.

Meanwhile, on the other side of Skypiea…

"Are you sure about this, Wyper?" one of the warriors asked, gripping his spear tightly.

"If we're ever going to defeat Eneru, we have to strike now. I'm more than sure," Wyper replied, his voice like a growl beneath the roaring flames of his bazooka.

"Upper Yard belongs to us," he continued. "Not to Eneru, not to his goons, and not to the people of Skypiea. It belongs to us—the Shandorians."

A thunderous cheer erupted from the crowd of warriors, drums beating in their chests like war cries waiting to explode.

Meanwhile, in the clouds above Skypiea…

"Ten intruders have entered my island," a mysterious man murmured. He lifted a single finger.

"Now there are nine."

A faint crackle of lightning danced across his hand.

"Hmm… and it seems the Shandorians are planning an attack. How wonderful. This will be entertaining."

At that moment, four men stepped into the room, kneeling.

"You summoned us, Lord Eneru," Shura said.

"I did," Eneru replied, standing from his throne of drums.

"I have a job for all of you. Kill everyone on Skypiea… but start with the intruders and the Shandorians."

His smile widened, cruel and calm.

Lightning flickered.
