Chapter 20 - The Missing Component.

A clear mind was the only defense against inner demons and Qi deviation. It would propel you to higher realms of cultivation, the mental bottleneck would be easier to Breakthrough with the help of this Sutra.

Seeing the reaction of Lin Feng, Elder Rui nodded in approval.

"...It teaches you to silence your mind. It teaches to ignore pain, fear, and the chaotic whispers of these broken slips. It is how I have survived sitting on this mountain of trash for twenty years without foaming at the mouth…or else, I would have burned down this library long ago."

He narrowed his eyes at the T-800. "If you can master the first layer in a few hours and practice everyday before sleeping then the headaches will only feel like a hammer hitting your skull, rather than a dagger stabbing your brain. If not... well, the infirmary isn't far."

T-800 slightly turned and looked at Lin Feng and Lin Feng understood it.

"We accept this duty…Elder Rui." Lin Feng bowed and so T-800.

"Take slow and steady…keep this burden off and away from me and I will…" He again didn't finish his words, left for interpretation.

With a satisfying smile, as if he is escaping jail time by trapping someone in his position, he left.

Lin Feng offered the booklet to Tie Yuan.

T-800 took the book and flipped his pages.

Lin Feng again didn't understand it, why this Master flip pages instead of reading them properly. Does Master Tie Yuan does not know how to read?

"Do you want to learn this?" T-800 shook the booklet.

Lin Feng nodded.

"Then listen properly…"

T-800 neural engine processor, who has just read every trash book and scroll was now well versed in language, at least the flowery bullshit of cultivation nomenclature.

He now understands cultivation bullshittry more than a pretentious professional cultivation bullshitter.

But, he also knows the laws of physics, chemistry and human biology like no one. He has detailed files on human biology, which makes him the perfect Terminator of humans.

He quickly stripped down all the mnemonics, the metaphors, the poetry and gave him the pure practical knowledge, a set of breathing exercises, some stretching and a mantra to chant which focused mainly on vibration of the throat and lungs at a certain way and frequency which relaxes the mind.

"...now repeat what I have taught you…word by word."

"...Word…by word?" T-800's emotionless command felt more like a threat. Lin Feng gulped and focused deeply as he tried to repeat.

He quickly repeated everything fumbling many times, making lots of mistakes due to nervousness but didn't get scolded or interrupted by Tie Yuan at all which made him confused even more.

As he finished he waited for some kind of scolding but none came.

"...Inefficient," T-800 quickly repeated the instruction of breathing again. "...Repeat."

"Y-Yes, Master!"

They spent the next ten minutes in a loop of correction.

"Repeat."

"Again."

"Hold your breath. Release."

"Chant properly, your pronunciation is off pitch."

Finally, Lin Feng performed the sequence perfectly.

As the Chant created a specific vibration hummed in his chest, creating a resonant frequency with his skull, a sudden sensation of coolness washed over his brain.

The panic, the fear of the dark cellar, and the latent stress from the oppressive atmosphere and T-800 brute cold presence vanished.

"...Master." He looked at Tie Yuan with gratitude. "...my mind…it feels calm, no loud inner voice at all."

Lin Feng fell to his knees, kowtowing.

T-800 face still no expression. "...stop wasting time and tell me more about our task."

Lin Feng stood up with determined eyes. "Yes…Master."

He took the lead and came close to the pile.

"This pile is filled with the fractured art, jade slip filled with chaotic thoughts."

Then he pointed at a crate filled with jade slips.

"...And these looks like new unused jade slips, we will use them to record our findings in them before we forget or go mad from it."

And lastly their was another crate, filled with bottles.

Lin Feng pulled one of the bottle and felt liquid in them. He opened it and took a faint whip of it.

"...And these are diluted Spirit Essence extracted from discarded trash quality of spirit stones…these are for us to use if we are feeling restrained or low on our Cultivation Base."

Then Lin Feng got sad. T-800 noticed the change in mood.

"Whats wrong?"

"Master…I am still a mortal yet…I haven't been able to cross my mortality into cultivation…I am not sure, how much I will be your help in this task…or total useless."

T-800 has just finished reading all the basic and foundational knowledge on cultivation and his neural engine processor has processed all of them, removing the fluff out of them, keeping the core.

He now knows how the…human biology interacts with ambient Qi. what makes it tick and reacts.

"Sit," the T-800 commanded. "Sit down. Legs crossed. Straight spine."

Lin Feng, conditioned by fear and awe, obeyed instantly. He sat on the cold stone floor near the pile of broken jade slips.

The T-800 stepped behind him and put his large hand on a specific point on his back, on an accupoint.

"Inhale. Three seconds. Do not fill the chest. Fill the stomach."

Lin Feng inhaled.

"Stop, Inefficient. You are using your upper lungs. Push your diaphragm down. Force your stomach out against your belt."

He came forward and poked Lin Feng's navel hard. "Here. Expand here."

Lin Feng tried again. "L-Like this?"

"Hold. Four seconds. Now exhale. Six seconds. Through the teeth. Make a hissing sound like a snake."

"Hisssss..."

"Again. Visualize yourself as a snake. Air in. Pressure down. Air out."

T-800 returned to check his accupoint in the back.

Lin Feng repeated the cycle ten times. The T-800's hand remained on Lin Feng's back, monitoring his heart rate and blood flow. As Lin Feng entered the rhythm, T-800 left him alone.

As per all the knowledge, the biggest hurdle towards cultivation is sound and silent mind, that's why they recommend mediation so much.

But a sound mind comes from a confident mind, a deep self confidence is the key to peaceful thoughts and an assured mind, which leads to focused uninterrupted mind towards cultivation.

Lin Feng just found his rhythm, although nothing would happen instantly but it was a progress nonetheless.

While Lin Feng lost in his Cultivation.

T-800 picked up a broken jade slip and tried to read it.

He has read the basic and foundational trash books so he is aware of how to do it but he has no meridians, no specific organ specialized to handle Qi.

Like Blood designed to absorb and carry oxygen, he has nothing which he can use to actively divert and utilize the Qi.

He needs meridian, his eyes turned to look at Lin Feng.

They are glowing faintly red with cold calculation.
