Back at the bar, 'White Shark' Hamilton pointed at one of his subordinates: "You, go contact Mr. Mike and tell him that the 'Blood Shark' was taken out, including the captain, all members were hunted down."
"Report that guy's name so Mr. Mike can come and take the bodies as soon as possible, to confirm or go through other procedures, and then release the bounty quickly."
After speaking, the tall, fat man strode towards the stairs leading to the second floor.
Behind the bar, the Bartender said blankly, "It's actually true, that guy not only hunted down the Captain, First Mate, and Second Mate, but also killed all the Pirates on the entire ship?"
"What a terrifying man."
"What?"
"Who did you say hunted down an entire ship of Pirates?" The girl with pigtails and freckles propped herself up, her eyes gazing drunkenly at the Bartender.
On the second floor of the bar, in Hamilton's room, the fat man walked to a grayish-white safe and crouched down. He pried open the floor in front of the safe, twisted a certain device, and a secret door appeared on the wall.
Hamilton opened the secret door, behind which were three hidden compartments. The top compartment held some documents and bills, the middle contained weapons such as revolvers and new-style short-barreled guns, and the bottom was stuffed with a complex black Machine.
He took out the black Machine, moved it to the table, found a codebook, and used the Machine to send an encrypted message to a distant location.
'Blood Shark Quint has been taken out, done by a guy named Rayleigh!'
After 'White Shark' Hamilton collected the bounty on his behalf, Lex returned to the hotel and immediately fell asleep on the bed.
He didn't wake up until around 12 PM.
After washing up, he went to the restaurant to find something to eat, but as soon as he entered, he found the restaurant was packed today.
Moreover, as soon as he came in, countless gazes swept towards him, making Lex feel the urge to frown.
Could it be retaliation from the Pirates?
These guys are 'Blood Shark' accomplices. I had considered that after hunting Quint, I would face retaliation from Pirates, but this is too fast, isn't it?
Just then, the restaurant owner came out and led the applause, saying, "Everyone, this is Mr. Rayleigh, the Hunter who hunted down 'Blood Shark' Quint!"
A round of applause erupted in the restaurant, and the owner continued, "To thank Mr. Rayleigh for eliminating a threat for us and preventing us from pirate attacks, I have decided that all of Mr. Rayleigh's expenses at the hotel and restaurant will be covered by us!"
Only then did Lex realize that the news of him hunting 'Blood Shark' had spread, and the people on the Sea Island thought that Quint was going to attack Damir Port, but he had stopped him.
Many things must have been distorted in this process, and he didn't know which busybodies had created this version. After all, he never intended to be some great hero who saved the Sea Island!
Lex was invited by the restaurant owner to a table specially prepared for him. The table was already laden with a sumptuous meal. As soon as Lex sat down, the owner walked behind him, and a restaurant employee took out a camera to take a commemorative photo of the owner and Lex.
When the owner said he would display this photo in the most prominent position in the restaurant to publicize Lex's heroic deeds to other guests, Lex, as the person involved, was dumbfounded and almost wanted to pull out his revolver to threaten the owner to destroy the film.
It was not until his ears were finally quiet that Lex could eat in peace. He had just finished a portion of specialty grilled meat when his vision blurred, and someone pulled up a chair and sat next to him.
The girl with dull orange hair tied into two pigtails, a few freckles on her face, and a strong smell of alcohol, the same girl who came to the restaurant for help last night, appeared again.
"Mr. Rayleigh, please help me. My friend is in danger, and only a powerful Hunter like you can help me."
As the girl spoke, her eyes had already turned red: "I've searched all the Adventurers and Hunters on the Sea Island, but none of them are willing to help. They frankly said they couldn't help me. But if it's you, you can definitely do it, after all, you single-handedly annihilated an entire ship of Pirates!"
"This level of strength, you won't find a second one on the entire Damir Island!"
Miss, even if you flatter me, I won't just agree so easily.
Picking up a fruit wine gifted by the restaurant, Lex took a sip, feeling it was a bit like sweet iced tea, but with the taste of ale.
He took out his handkerchief to wipe his mouth before saying, "Miss, you can tell me about your difficulties, but I may not necessarily help. I have to evaluate the situation based on what you tell me. If the difficulty is too great, I can only say I'm sorry."
"Also, this isn't free. I hope you can offer a price that can move me."
"Alright, now I'm ready to hear your story."
Taking several deep breaths, the pigtail girl nervously fiddled with the hem of her clothes: "My name is Hana, and I am an Adventurer. I have two companions, Jolick and Berte."
"Berte and I are Beyonder, and although Jolick is just an ordinary person, he is proficient in various languages, has a good understanding of local legends, and is also very intelligent, often offering us advice."
"This time, Jolick discovered in some ancient documents that there used to be some kind of sacrificial activity in the primeval forest of Damir Island. He believes there might be ruins similar to a temple, and within it, undiscovered treasures might be hidden."
"Indeed, with the help of those documents, we found an underground temple. We found an incredible amount of gold and jewels."
"At the same time, we also found several strange coffins. They were placed at the very bottom of the temple, in the hall dedicated to the gods. There were three of them in total, stored upright, and the coffins were tightly bound with huge iron chains, connected to iron bolts in the ground."
"Coffins?"
"Upright coffins?"
Lex interrupted Hana: "Let me guess, you opened one of the coffins?"
"No, we didn't." Hana's words made Lex a little 'disappointed.' The girl shook her head and said, "Although we are young, we have had several adventure experiences. We know that in such places, it's best not to casually open coffin-like objects, especially when they clearly show signs of restraint and sealing. This indicates that dangerous things might exist inside the coffin."
"We didn't even dare to touch anything in that hall. We just took a glance and retreated. We focused our attention on the sacrificial hall at the entrance of the temple; those candelabras and statues made of gold were what we truly wanted."
"We cautiously conducted a series of tests, checking that these artifacts were not poisonous, would not trigger insidious traps, and were not cursed, before putting them into our bags one by one with gloves on."
"Everything was normal until Jolick started growing some strange things on his body—"
Lex couldn't help but recall the Sailors and Captain on the contaminated shipwreck, whose bodies were covered with various shellfish, and he couldn't help but say, "He wouldn't have grown seashells, would he?"
