Chapter 298 - Plan Ahead

"No."

Captain Iron Hook said without hesitation, "He alone could hunt the Blood Shark, which was a pirate ship with thirty to forty men, including Quint."

"Although we have a lot of people here, all the combat-worthy personnel from the 'Giant Tooth' are present, don't forget that our strength is only on par with Quint's."

"In fact, Quint is even better at fighting than I am."

"Since he can hunt Quint, he can also hunt us."

Captain Iron Hook stood up: "Also, we don't have time to chat here. Since that hunter is on the island, he might discover us. He might have already tracked us here through you. We need to leave immediately."

"That's impossible. I only observed him from a distance for a while, and I was careful enough to ensure I wouldn't be tracked."

Captain Iron Hook sneered, "In front of an excellent hunter, your assurance is worthless. Get out of here quickly."

The pirates standing by the window, sitting on the sofa, and playing poker quickly stood up and walked towards the door without packing anything. Just as Horseface, who was guarding the door, opened it, a fireball smashed in from outside, landing on Horseface's chest, and then surging crimson flames engulfed him.

"Damn it, he's already here!" Captain Iron Hook yelled, grabbing two men and pushing them towards the door, "Hold him off!"

He took the other two and ran towards the back door of the small building.

Outside the door, a figure suddenly rushed in. Two pirates shouted and shot at the figure. However, all the bullets disappeared into the figure, unable to make it pause. Moreover, this figure emitted heat and red light; it was a humanoid shape condensed from pure flames.

This flame person directly pounced on a pirate, embracing him tightly. The scorching flames burned the pirate, causing him to scream incessantly, but the sound quickly disappeared. Then, the flame person's body expanded rapidly to its limit, followed by an explosion, erupting in surging flames that engulfed another pirate who had fled into the living room.

Listening to the explosions and screams coming from the living room, Captain Iron Hook's face was extremely grim, but he didn't stop; instead, he quickened his pace. Ahead, the pirate who had discovered Lex opened a small door, peered out, and, finding no enemy, bravely rushed out.

Captain Iron Hook watched him rush into an open space. Suddenly, the ground flashed with fire, followed by an explosive impact that kicked up the dirt and sand from the open space, blasting his subordinate far away, who fell heavily to the ground, his fate unknown.

At the same time, Captain Iron Hook's mind suddenly buzzed. Before he could react, he saw a dark red beam of light shoot from the open space in front of the door, piercing through his chest. The beam lasted for about one or two seconds before its color faded and it began to expand, finally transforming into clusters of raging flames that exploded one after another.

An instant Fire Dragon appeared in the open space and the house. The fierce explosion left Captain Iron Hook's chest a bloody mess, blasting a fist-sized hole and shattering his heart.

At this moment, the temperature in the room suddenly dropped, and arrows emanating terrifying coldness successively pierced into Captain Iron Hook's head and mouth. The first mate, who had been playing poker nearby, watched as his captain was easily killed in less than 5 seconds.

"No"

"No!" The first mate ran towards the stairs in a panic. As he passed through the corridor, he saw a mirror hanging on the wall. In the mirror, he saw a young, dark-skinned man in a cloak waving at him.

Suddenly, the figure in the mirror emerged, instantly reflecting in the first mate's eyes. The first mate immediately stopped and watched himself pull out the revolver from his waist and put the barrel into his mouth.

Bang!

The gunshot startled the guy who had been blasted into the open space, the very pirate who had seen Lex on Longshore Street. He clutched his head and looked at the house. Through a window, he saw his ship's first mate shoot himself!

Was he crazy?

Then, a Wraith emerged from the wall. Its figure rapidly transformed from a translucent, ethereal state to a tangible presence.

The pirate was so scared he wanted to get up and run, but suddenly, he found he couldn't move at all. Then, a sharp pain in his leg drew his attention. He looked down and saw his legs were a bloody mess from the explosion, with some places even revealing bone.

At this moment, he felt a hard object pressing against his temple. He looked up and saw a beautifully styled crimson revolver pressed against his head. Then he heard the hunter named Rayleigh say:

"Tell me, who are you, and what are you doing on Skye Island?"

"You can also choose not to speak. In that case, I will kill you, and then commune with your spirit to get the answers anyway."

The pirate almost jumped up. If his legs hadn't been injured by the explosion, he would have certainly done so.

lunatic!

This is simply a lunatic!

You don't even know who we are, and you just attack? Don't you worry about harming the innocent?

Lex, of course, wouldn't worry about this issue.

After tracking the pirates to this building, he used the staff of resentment to transform into a Wraith, stealthily infiltrating the house, and personally heard them discussing their connection to the Blood Admiral.

If Captain Iron Hook hadn't been in such a hurry to leave, Lex would have planned to hunt this group of pirates using a gentler method. Unfortunately, the other party didn't give him the chance to do so.

So he could only create a Fire Clone in front of the main door, while he himself went behind the house to lay fire landmines, hastily setting up two traps. Combining this with the Wraith's ability, he used a series of ability combinations to first eliminate the captain with the iron hook, then possessed the first mate, making him shoot himself.

The last remaining pirate, naturally, had to be interrogated. As for the spirit channeling, that was just to scare him, but since he had already displayed so many abilities, he believed the pirate wouldn't be suspicious.

Indeed, the pirate quickly said, "If I tell you everything I know, will you let me go?"

Lex generously said, "Exactly. It seems you are willing to cooperate, so congratulations, you will still see tomorrow's sun rise, instead of being buried in the cold dirt."

The pirate swallowed hard before saying, "We are the 'Giant Tooth' pirate crew, and we serve the Blood Admiral. We came to Skye Island to plan for the Shining Black Star. Senor believes it should be a type of sealed artifact, and acquiring it would help expand his influence."

Lex smiled and said, "Even if the black star is truly a sealed artifact, forgive my bluntness, but you few wouldn't be able to take it away."

"Of course, we know that. In fact, we were only here to conduct an investigation, which is why we infiltrated Skye Island so discreetly. We were originally supposed to leave tomorrow, but we didn't expect…"

The pirate glanced at Lex, swallowing the words, "didn't expect to run into you."

Lex said indifferently, "What, have you given up on the investigation?"

"No, we received orders from the Admiral. He plans to advance that plan and needs to gather all forces, which is why he told us to leave tomorrow."

"That plan?"

Lex pressed the muzzle down firmly and asked in a deep voice, "Which plan?"
