Atmosphere: Chrome, Rain, and Poor Life Choices
The rain here tasted like battery acid. The neon signs flickered with messages like "BUY SOUL IMPLANTS" and "CORPO-LIFE: SUBSCRIBE NOW!"
"This place..." Genos looked around, his cyber-eyes whirring as they auto-downloaded a driver update. "It is aesthetically pleasing, but inefficient. Why are there wires hanging everywhere?"
"It's called aesthetic, tin can," Spike Spiegel (now the Tutorial NPC) leaned against a graffitied wall, flipping a coin. "This is Floor 4. Gun Gale Online mixed with Cyberpunk 2077. Objective: Reach Arasaka Tower."
"We just have to climb?" Kazuma asked, checking his pockets (his sword had turned into a vibro-dagger). "Easy."
"Climb?" Spike chuckled. "Not climb. Survive the raid. The Boss is at the top. Adam Smasher... fused with The Terminator."
"Terminator?" Kazuma paled. "That sounds unkillable."
"Pretty much," Spike flicked his cigarette. "Oh, and magic is dampenned here. Gunpowder rules."
The Loadout Phase
A holographic menu appeared: [CHOOSE YOUR WEAPON].
Megumin's staff disappeared. In its place... an RPG-7 painted red.
"Oh ho!" Megumin cradled the launcher. "It is not Explosion Magic... but it holds the spirit of Boom within its steel heart! Can I shoot it?"
"Not yet!" Kazuma tackled her. "We're in the lobby!"
Usopp looked at his selection. A sleek, high-tech sniper rifle. The Widowmaker.
"Finally," Usopp adjusted his goggles. "No more rubber bands. Today, I am the lead dispenser."
Tanjiro held a gun awkwardly. It was a pistol.
"Smell of gunpowder..." Tanjiro wrinkled his nose. "It's so aggressive. Can I... breathe with this?"
He took a deep breath. Water Breathing: Gun Form? He pistol-whipped the air. "I'll stick to hitting things."
Goku looked at a machine gun.
He poked the barrel.
"Does it shoot ki blasts?"
"No, bullets."
"Are they strong?"
"Not compared to you."
Goku tossed the gun. "Boring! I'll use my fists!"
Scene: The Drive-By
They commandeered a hover-truck. Vegeta was driving (angry). Kazuma was shotgun (scared). Usopp and Revy (Two-Hand) were on the mounted turrets in the back.
They sped down the highway.
Behind them, a gang of Cyber-Psychos on bikes approached. But they weren't generic thugs. They were fused.
Mad Max War Boys + Akudama Drive Cutthroats.
"WITNESS ME!" One biker shouted, spraying chrome paint on his teeth before leaping onto their truck.
"Get off my paint job!" Vegeta swerved, scraping the truck against a guardrail. Sparks flew. "Do you know how much a detailing costs?!"
"Hostiles at 6 o'clock!" Usopp aimed. His sniper skills activated. Observation Haki.
Time slowed.
He saw the gas tank on the lead bike.
He calculated windage, vehicle speed, and dramatic timing.
Bang.
The bullet traveled 500 meters. It passed through the spokes of a wheel, ricocheted off a drone, and hit the gas cap.
KA-BOOM.
The bike exploded in blue flames.
"BULLSEYE!" Usopp cheered. "THE SNIPER KING STRIKES AGAIN!"
"Not bad for a liar," Revy smirked, dual-wielding massive handguns. She leaned out the window. "But this is how you do volume!"
BangBangBangBang.
A hail of bullets shredded the remaining bikers. Revy was cackling like a maniac. "DANCE! DANCE TO THE MUSIC OF LEAD!"
Boss Battle: The Construct
They crashed through the glass lobby of Arasaka Tower. (Vegeta "parked" by flying through the doors).
"Elevator?" Saitama pressed the button.
Ding.
"Out of Order."
"We take the stairs?" Tanjiro asked politely.
CRASH.
The ceiling collapsed.
A massive, chromed-out monstrosity dropped down.
It looked like Adam Smasher, but with the skull face of the T-800 Endoskeleton.
"HEROIC MEAT," Smasher-nator buzzed. "YOU LOOK LIKE CUTS OF... DELETABLE DATA."
He raised a Gatling Gun arm.
"GET TO THE CHOPPA!" he screamed (in Arnold's voice).
"Defend!" Naofumi raised his Energy Shield.
The bullets hammered the green barrier like rain. PingPingPing.
"Heavy!" Naofumi gritted his teeth. "These aren't normal bullets! They're Anti-Tank rounds imbued with Haki!"
"I got this!" Genos stepped forward.
He looked at Smasher.
Cybernetic analysis vs Cybernetic analysis.
"Target identified," Genos said. "A bucket of bolts with a complex."
Smasher laughed. "BOLTS? I AM EVOLUTION!"
Smasher fired rockets.
Genos engaged thrusters, skating along the walls.
"Machine Gun Blow!"
Genos unleashed a barrage of super-speed punches. They dented Smasher's armor, but Smasher grabbed Genos by the throat.
"WEAK ALLOY," Smasher scanned Genos. "NO SANDELISTAN? PATHETIC."
He activated Sandevistan (Time Dilation).
To everyone else, Smasher vanished.
To Genos, Smasher moved like a glitch. Blur. Slam. Blur. Slam.
Genos was dismantled mid-air. An arm flew off. A leg flew off.
Genos landed as a torso.
"Genos!" Saitama said. "You fell apart again."
"My apologies, Sensei. His operating system is... Vista. It's too unstable."
"Time to end this," Smasher targeted Kazuma. "YOU LOOK MOST BREAKABLE."
"Why always me?!" Kazuma squeaked.
"MEGUMIN! NOW!"
Kazuma pointed at the skylight.
"My new magic..." Megumin stood on a balcony, hefting the Tactical Nuke Launcher. (A weapon drop from Floor 3).
"Explosion is an art," she whispered, tears in her eyes. "But sometimes... art is plutonium."
"EXPLOSION... ROCKET... LAUNCH!"
FWOOM.
The warhead flew.
It wasn't magical. It was cold, hard science.
But Megumin poured all her mana into the warhead fuse.
It hit Smasher.
"OH S—"
The flash blinded Night City.
A mushroom cloud (pink, oddly) erupted from Arasaka Tower.
Glass shattered for ten blocks.
When the smoke cleared, Smasher was a glowing red skeleton. Still standing.
"I... WILL... BE... BA—"
Saitama walked up. He flicked the skeleton's forehead.
The entire structure collapsed into a pile of scrap metal.
"You're already recalled," Saitama deadpanned.
[FLOOR 4 CLEARED]
Looting Phase
The team raided Smasher's remains.
Kazuma found a chip.
[ITEM: SANDEVISTAN SPINE IMPLANT]
Effect: Super Speed (Uses HP as fuel).
"Jackpot!" Kazuma grabbed it. "I can run away from debt collectors at Mach speed!"
Genos was collecting parts of Smasher.
"Sensei, these components are compatible. If I integrate the Gravitational Cannon... I might actually win a fight."
"Good luck with that," Saitama patted his student's detached head.
[SYSTEM ALERT]
[WARP GATE ACTIVATED]
[NEXT FLOOR: THE HORROR OF THE DEEP]
[GENRE: THALASSOPHOBIA / SUBNAUTICA]
"Underwater again?" Luffy groaned. "I'm useless!"
Zoro stared at a puddle. "I'm drowning." (He wasn't).
"Wait," Jin-Woo (Solo Leveling) spoke from the shadows. "This isn't just water."
The gate opened.
Blue light flooded the room.
But it was... bioluminescent.
They saw massive shapes moving in the water beyond the gate.
Leviathans. Reapers.
"We need a bigger boat," Sanji lit a cigarette, but the water spray put it out. "Dammit."
