Bai Chen spent the entire morning studying.
By the time the sun rose high, he had already grasped the true nature of Z-Moves.
Z-Moves, in essence—were simply the art of manipulating natural energy.
The Z-Crystal was like a vessel—
a collector and a reservoir of that wild, flowing power.
And the Z-Ring?
A limiter and converter—
guiding that same energy through a controlled circuit,
then detonating it in the form of a single, overwhelming strike.
Through countless experiments, Bai Chen noticed something peculiar.
The Z-Moves of this world… weren't quite like the ones from the games.
"So that's it… this world runs by its own rules."
In the games, Z-Crystals could amplify even status skills—
Bulk Up, Protect, even Calm Mind.
But here, that property didn't exist at all.
Each Z-Crystal carried an intricate energy circuit, engraved deep within its crystalline structure.
That pattern defined which Z-Move it could unleash—
a fixed formula of light and power.
Unless someone could rewrite that circuit,
Creating new Z-Moves was impossible.
"Unless…"
"I learn to manipulate that energy myself."
And then came another realization—
Z-Moves required energy from both Pokémon and the trainer.
That wasn't just symbolic bonding—it was biological protection.
If only one side bore the strain, the body would collapse. Even a champion's Pokémon would fall apart from the overload.
"So that's why the burden is shared…"
"Two souls carrying one power."
He stared at the Z-Ring in his hand, eyes flickering with thought.
"Then theoretically—"
"If my body can handle the pressure… I could fire a Z-Move alone."
It wasn't impossible.
He'd already seen the logic in it—
If a Pokémon like Rayquaza could achieve self–Mega Evolution, then solo Z-Moves weren't so far-fetched.
He lifted the Z-Crystal in his palm, turning it against the light.
"If I can master the move Nature Power…"
"If I can push it beyond Grandmaster, maybe even Crown Rank—"
"Then maybe… I could create my own Z-Move."
The thought burned in him like wildfire.
He needed that move—Nature Power. And he knew exactly where to find it.
Back at Hala's home, the morning bustle had already begun.
Lillie was just waking,
while Hala returned after an all-night patrol, looking surprisingly energetic.
"Ah, Bai Chen! You've already been experimenting, haven't you?"
He laughed heartily. "So, how's the Z-Move treating you?"
"Strong," Bai Chen admitted.
"Stronger than I imagined. Though the backlash… is no joke."
"Good! That's the spirit!"
Hala grinned—then paused mid-laugh, blinking.
"Wait. Did you just say you used a Z-Move?"
"Yeah. Myself."
"Though it's exhausting… I managed to activate it."
Hala just stared.
Then his expression twisted between disbelief and amusement.
"You… really are full of surprises."
With a sigh and a grin, he fetched another Z-Ring from his study,
placing it in Bai Chen's hand.
"Here. A spare. If anyone can make use of it—it's you."
Bai Chen smiled gratefully.
After breakfast, he packed up, collected his smith companion from the forge,
and prepared to return home.
Nine hours remained before the system's transfer countdown.
At the Pokémon Center, Nurse Joy nearly dropped her clipboard when she saw him.
"You again…?"
Her expression said it all—
memories of one sleepless night, dozens of delinquents,
and the cleanup afterward.
A man she could never forget.
Bai Chen got straight to the point.
He wanted to battle her Pokémon—
Specifically, her Comfey.
At first, she refused outright.
"A battle? With me? I'm a nurse, not a challenger!"
But Bai Chen's persistence—and, admittedly, his charm—
wore her down.
"Fine," she sighed, "one quick match. Make it fast."
The battle was over in seconds.
Bai Chen's Quick Attack, followed by two Close Combats—
Comfey didn't even have time to react.
Then, as Nurse Joy blinked, Bai Chen used a Full Restore—
and left.
"Wait—what…?"
Her jaw dropped as he thanked her politely and sprinted off.
Hours later, still at the counter, she muttered—
"He one-shots my Pokémon, sprays a Full Restore that costs a fortune,
says thank you, and just… leaves?"
"What on earth was that supposed to accomplish?"
Meanwhile, Bai Chen returned home,
now holding what he'd come for—Nature Power.
He didn't rush to use it yet.
First, he wanted to test something else.
At the training field, Bai Chen stood alone.
No Nergigante this time.
Only him—his strength—and the Z-Ring.
He crossed his hands before his chest.
The crystal pulsed.
A glowing insignia formed in the air—The mark of unleashed natural energy.
But instead of channeling it into a Pokémon,
he guided it into himself.
At once, his veins burned like molten iron.
The energy flooded his body, his muscles trembling from the strain.
And then—he moved.
"Z-Move—Ultimate Full-Force Tackle!"
He shot forward like a blazing comet,
the shockwave flattening the training dummies ahead.
The moment he stopped—
Numbness seized every limb.
He couldn't move a finger.
Ten seconds later, he gasped as control slowly returned.
The pain that followed was sharp, searing—
like fire racing through his nerves.
"Damn… it really hurts."
"If anyone else tried this—they'd die instantly."
Even with Titan Physique, Elder Dragon Blood,
and Super Regeneration healing him from within,
The strain was nearly unbearable.
Still… it worked.
He had proven it—
that a human could wield Z-Power alone.
Later, when he finally learned Nature Power,
a surge of vision overtook him—
His senses are flooding with the rhythm of the natural world itself.
And as the world shifted around him,
Bai Chen smiled faintly.
"So this… is what it means to see through nature's eyes."
