Chapter 30 - "Bishop Of League-I & Operation Master Clock"

The sun rose the same for all three of them in this town.

Blayne was about to sleep till late with Quilia disappeared after that face off with Fletcher.

Whereas, Cleyn rose early at dawn.

He only remembered going with Fletcher to a palace which seemed pretty normal with a good & friendly vibe.

Without exchanging any words, Cleyn headed straight to a room where he slept peacefully.

As he got up, he saw that the area was quieter than usual.

He tried looking out of the window but there was just a silent town with no human presence around.

He found it strange to not even hear any sounds of the animals and nature which often used to fascinate him.

He decided to meet Fletcher and thank him for the hospitality.

He immediately got up from the bed, washed his face and wore his boots.

He left the room searching around for Fletcher.

He saw that the palace was extremely beautiful and well constructed perhaps by a great variety of architects.

He saw many people were walking back and forth around him.

Some carrying bags, some carrying food trays and a few females dressed as nurses & business ladies.

"Do you know where Mr Fletcher is?" Cleyn politely asked one of the females who were rushing out.

"I am sorry I can't help you with that." That female said not even looking back at Cleyn.

Cleyn was shocked at this reaction but he didn't react much, reading the room.

"Alright. I will proceed to ask someone else." Cleyn murmured to himself.

Before Cleyn could proceed to think about asking someone else, he heard a voice coming from behind him.

"Hello dear. Did you sleep well?" Fletcher said approaching Cleyn in the same three piece suit, often red in colour this time.

Cleyn turned around with a smile as he found the voice quite particular and familiar.

"Yes Mr Fletcher. Thanks for your hospitality. I may proceed to leave." Cleyn said, shaking hands with Fletcher.

He saw that Fletcher was being followed by two other man in suits aswell both carrying scrolls.

"As you wish but I would really welcome you to something." Fletcher said, clapping twice.

The two men behind him started rushing towards Fletcher.

"What kind of a welcome? It's been a while since I attended a function." Cleyn responded with a smile.

"Don't worry much. It won't last long dear." Fletcher said with a side smile.

"So here is the thing Cleyn. Firstly, take this thing right here." Fletcher continued, handing out one of the scrolls to Cleyn.

Cleyn was shocked to see the use of a scroll in an era where smartphones were a thing but didn't react much.

"What is this even about though?" Cleyn asked, taking the scroll and putting it inside his pockets.

"Read it out yourself young guy. Here is the second one." Fletcher said, handing the second scroll to Cleyn.

"This one is about a party which you are required to attend if you want to stay in the palace." Fletcher said, widening his cheeks.

The second one sounded off to him but he acted quite maturely.

"Alright." Cleyn said trying to leave the palace.

"Mr Cleyn, you can read it out in the Rosebouw Library right there. Mr Coil would lead you in there." Fletcher said, pointing out the dude on the left to go help Cleyn.

"Thanks sir." Cleyn said, with a smile.

With this, Fletcher went off disappearing with the other guy while Cleyn and Mr Coil went ahead to find the Rosebouw Library.

During the whole walking process, Cleyn and Coil didn't exchange a single word.

He just silently followed Coil towards a large corridor, crashing and seeing a large variety of people alongside the way.

After reaching the library, Cleyn thanked Coil who just passed a smile and disappeared.

Cleyn saw that the library was really huge particularly combining the size of two football grounds and a basketball court.

He saw that only two to three people were seated there.

One was sitting there making notes while the other one was sitting there with arms behind his neck, particularly chilling.

Cleyn sat there afar from them in the array of a thousand chairs.

He opened the first scroll.

It was stated in a different language unable for him to understand even a small bit.

Cleyn then decided to open the second scroll.

The top of the scroll stated 'Bishop of League-I.'

The scroll stated;

[For the bystanders knights, the encryption is to be stated in the end. For the great dignified bishop and then the supreme dweepers. We would personally invite you to the annual function of wedding of King Wood-I & Queen Yerna-I alongside the third anniversary of Fletcher-I & Flowra-II.]

[Your presence at the function would be greatly appreciated so please be there tomorrow at sharp 12 am with a closed one from your family and a kid.]

[For the encryption code], it is

'151651812091514'

'1311920518'

'31215311' .

Cleyn started decoding it in different ways considering it to be a way to a certain area or the passage.

The second thought of it being a code leading to a hidden doorway or the coordinates of a location which can be calculated through GPS.

"Perhaps a quite interesting riddle." Cleyn said, slowly leaving the table.

He looked around and to his shock, both the dudes had disappeared.

The library felt more quieter than a graveyard.

Cleyn decided to leave immediately and decode it alongside searching Blayne and finding the secrets behind this town.

At a certain location away from the palace, he found a cottage next to a broken field of broken statues, laying down weak.

He started decoding the pattern and suddenly decided to translate it to alphabetic order.

"If 15 here means O then 16 means P so by connecting the dots, Operation forms from the first set of words. Master from the second one and Clock from the third one." Cleyn said, murmuring to himself.

"Operation Master Clock? What could it possibly mean?" Cleyn asked himself.

Ironic, how I think time will tell all that.

He headed straight towards the town, surveying around for finding Blayne not knowing he would crash directly into Blayne midway but this time the tide won't be in his favour.
