Chapter 5 - THREADS OF AMBITION

Alex sat by the large window in his room, sunlight streaming in and painting patterns across the floor. His eyes were fixed on a blank piece of parchment in front of him. Today, he would design an outfit for Queen Amelia's birthday party—an outfit that would make him stand out while staying true to who he was.

He picked up a pencil and began sketching. Lines flowed across the page, forming shapes that were elegant, bold, and unlike any outfit he had ever worn in his past life. He wanted it to be genderfluid, blending traditionally masculine and feminine elements seamlessly.

"This... this could work," he murmured, tilting his head thoughtfully. He drew a flowing tunic with fitted trousers, embroidered with golden patterns that reflected the fire affinity of his mana. The sleeves were slightly flared, giving a soft elegance, while the trousers allowed freedom of movement.

He paused and smiled. "Perfect. I want to feel powerful, but also graceful."

Cecilia peeked into the room, noticing the focused expression on Alex's face.

"Working on something special, my son?" she asked softly.

Alex looked up and grinned. "Yes, nana. I want to design my outfit for the Queen's birthday. I want it to be unique, something that shows who I am… something no one will forget."

Cecilia's eyes shone with pride. "I have no doubt it will be magnificent, my son. You always put your heart into everything you do."

---

Just then, Sir Luke entered quietly. "My Young Lord, I have someone in mind who could assist you in turning your design into reality."

Alex raised an eyebrow. "Oh? Who might that be, Sir?"

"There is a noble lady from the Rosethorn House, Lady Marianne. She was a renowned dressmaker and had designed gowns for your late mother many times. Since the Duchess's passing, her prominence has declined, and her fashion house is much smaller than before. I thought… given your talents and her skills, she might assist in creating your dress for the Queen's birthday."

Alex's eyes lit up. "That's perfect. Please call her immediately, Sir. I want this design to be exactly as I imagined."

---

Later that afternoon, Lady Marianne arrived, a refined and elegant woman in her late twenties, her eyes bright with curiosity. She bowed to Alex politely.

"Your Young Lord," she said, her voice gentle, "I've heard that you are designing a gown for the Queen's birthday. May I see your sketches?"

Alex laid the sketches before her, explaining every detail—the flowing tunic, fitted trousers, golden embroidery, sash, and subtle accessories.

Lady Marianne's eyes widened. "This… this is magnificent! Your design is bold and elegant. If you wear this to the party, everyone will be dazzled. And… if I may say, presenting it as my creation while acknowledging your design could help restore my fashion house's reputation. It would be an honor to bring your vision to life."

Alex smiled thoughtfully. "I like that idea. We can work together—my designs, your skills. It can even become a small partnership. Perhaps I can manage the finances and business side, while you focus on creating."

Lady Marianne's face lit up with excitement. "Yes! That would be wonderful. Your vision and my craftsmanship… together, we could accomplish great things."

---

From that day, a partnership was born. Alex not only had a dress tailored perfectly to his taste for the Queen's birthday, but he also began learning the ropes of fashion entrepreneurship, managing finances, and establishing a network of noble connections—all while staying true to his personal style and ambition.

He leaned back in his chair, feeling a surge of satisfaction.
