The two brothers were quick to usher Novalyn to their cave overlooking a beautiful waterfall and small lake.
"We are lacking in furs." Kallis spoke looking around their space with pursed lips.
"I'll go hunt." Cadmus offered brightly. Before he left he bent over Novalyn and licked her cheek. "I'll be back soon, Novalyn."
She let out a gasp and held her cheek, not missing how the silver haired snake smirked as he left.
Looking around at the bachelor pad Beastworld equivalent, Novalyn thought about what she could contribute to make the space more homey and cozy.
Checking the system store, she was just about to check for a bed when what should pop into existence but a nice large bed plenty big enough for three people.
Kallis continued to wave his hand around the cave and with it popped a hearth for the wall where there was a small opening above that let in light, and last a table with three chairs for the center of the room.
Novalyn closed her mouth where it had hung open in surprise, "May I ask what level you and your brother are?"
Kallis looked at her, one sharp eyebrow raised in his own question and she answered it knowing what it was.
"I was blessed with a beast form. I am level 50."
After level 5, power levels only manifested in beast pressure and shown strength. Stripes didn't adorn either brother, and Novalyn knew Kallis was at least at the same level as herself with access to the system network and store.
"I am Level 70. Cadmus will soon break into Level 65."
No wonder he was able to buy so much for the cave dwelling. He must be quite rich in system coins by this time.
Novalyn walked over to the bed and sat on it, feeling the soft mattress below her. She looked down at her feet grateful for her talent for air walking so they weren't dirty. She brought them up and laid down, exhaustion seeping into her all of the sudden.
The day's events rushing up to greet her. Work at her company, a frenzy of orders due to the upcoming holiday season, her chest pain and the world blanking out. Then meeting the alien shapeshifters, her reborn state, passing judgment on the ferals and rootless...all leading her up to meeting the snake brothers.
And she couldn't forget she was expecting 3 little babies in about 2 to 3 months if the stories were correct. It was a lot to take in but as she did a body check, despite her tiredness she felt pretty good. Actually better than she expected.
She held her stomach a smile forming on her lips. She had always wanted children but society usually dictated she needed a partner first and honestly she wanted that too. An equal relationship, a partnership for life; someone to love and respect.
Now she supposed she would have multiple of such bonds but her wishes for them didn't change.
In a world where women were put on a pedestal and men treated less, she wanted to be the one to bridge the gap. She wanted to show by her actions that she loved and respected her partner, so even if she had potential mates due to a mission she had no intention of taking anyone that couldn't show respect and love back to her.
Looking up she found Kallis watching her every movement.
Patting the mattress, "Would you like to sit or lay down beside me? I want to talk but I'm feeling a bit tired."
He moved toward her cautiously before sitting down next to her, his posture rigid.
"I want to talk to you and Cadmus about what I'd like our relationship to be like if we decide to go beyond courting. I know it will be different from the rest of this world, but it's important to me."
A crimson head nodded, "We will listen, fe...." He paused correcting himself, "Novalyn."
