Chapter 7 - Chapter 7 Rookie Squad Part 3!!!

(NARRATOR)

Sayuri had a fixed look on Yuzuki. She thought, I will show them the difference between a normal person and a royal.

Yuzuki calmed herself and got into a stance. She thought, I'll show him I'm not weak.

Sayuri unsheathed her katana—a Chronicle forged with the best materials money could buy and with decently high essence.

Ms. Mizukawa raised her hand. Everyone was truly tense; some had expectations for Yuzuki, while others said the outcome was obvious.

"FIGHT!" shouted Mizukawa.

Yuzuki charged at Sayuri, ready to unleash the first strike. Her daggers began to glow a neon red, humming with energy. Across from her, Sayuri's katana lit up with a neon purple sheen. She raised it, and the ground beneath her cracked—large chunks of earth tearing free and floating upward.

Sayuri leapt onto one of the rising stones as it carried her into the air.

Yuzuki looked up at her perched opponent and thought, The high ground advantage won't stop me.

Her daggers flared even brighter. She shifted into a stance, both blades held at her hips, angled upward like twin fangs waiting to strike.

She shouted, "Twin Fang!"

As she swung them upward,

two red slashes shot up, heading straight for Sayuri.

But Sayuri only smirked and said, "That attack is nothing."

She pointed two fingers, and one of the floating chunks of rock blocked the attack.

The rock exploded on impact, and the debris fell, forcing Yuzuki to dodge and destroy the debris coming at her.

On the sidelines, Shinryu observes the duel. He thinks, If Yuzuki manages to get up there or uses Blood Draw, she will most likely win, but if she doesn't and Sayuri keeps the high ground, sooner or later one of them will run out—either Yuzuki won't have stamina or Sayuri will run out of energy. Either way, it does not interest me.

One group of girls starts cheering for Sayuri; they are like a fan club for the princess.

One girl yells, "Come on, Princess Sayuri, you can do it!"

There was also another group that disliked the arrogant princess.

They all cheered for Yuzuki, hoping she would put the princess in her place.

Sayuri readies her katana in preparation to launch a counterattack.

She jumps onto another rock to get a better angle.

She says, "I will show you what a real attack is."

Then she starts to say something, "Violet."

Yuzuki notices something and starts to move around as if trying to make her movements unpredictable.

"Rebound... Slash," she finishes, naming an attack. After she swings her katana vertically, a purple-colored slash rushes toward Yuzuki.

She ducks, barely dodging the attack.

She got into a jumping position, planning to fight her on equal ground, but she sensed something.

In front of the slash appeared a transparent purple wall. The slash collided with it and redirected back toward Yuzuki. It gained speed and multiplied in size.

Yuzuki turned around, and the slash was right in her face. She crossed her daggers, blocking it by an inch. The collision's force sent her flying; her arms flailed, and her muscles contracted from the force of the impact.

Sayuri creates a path of rock in front of her and starts running toward Yuzuki's direction. She jumps down, katana ready for a downward slash.

Yuzuki recovers from the previous attack, looks up, and sees Sayuri charging at her. She thinks, Shit, I have to dodge.

She rolls to the side, barely dodging the slash. The impact of the slash leaves a crack in the ground.

Yuzuki, while on the ground, quickly crosses her daggers in a T shape next to her as Sayuri strikes her with a sideways slash.

The impact pushes Yuzuki against the floor, then she crashes into a chunk of rock left when Sayuri stopped floating the rocks as she fell down.

A smoke screen is created, and the people watching on the sidelines await in anticipation of something happening. The girls cheer for Yuzuki, hoping for her to make a comeback.

After a moment of silence, two red slashes come out of the smoke cloud. Sayuri parries them both on impact; they splash some blood.

Some of the spectators gasp. One girl says, "She does not look injured, so where did the blood come from?"

Shinryu already knew what had happened, although of course he was not going to say anything.

Yuzuki used the distraction as an opportunity; she closed the distance and got right under her right side. She used one dagger and stabbed Sayuri with a stab. She parried it but got sent flying upward.

Shinryu looked at her eyes, and they were turning red. That's when he confirmed he knew what she did, and he believed she was winning.

The girls cheering for Yuzuki were getting hyped as Yuzuki gained the lead, and Sayuri's fan club worried that their princess would lose.

Yuzuki, with bloodshot eyes, a bloodthirsty look, and with a yell, says, "Bloodfall Tide."

A rising current of blood shoots up at Sayuri, striking her in the gut so hard she coughs blood and almost loses consciousness.

The tide then engulfs Sayuri and starts to move her around in the air. Then it changes direction, moving her toward Yuzuki. Yuzuki runs toward the rushing tide and then punches Sayuri straight in the jaw.

Sayuri groans as she gets sent flying back, violently rolling and crashing into the ground.

Sayuri's crash comes to a halt. After a moment, she gets up, tumbling.

She balances herself, then wipes off some blood from her face.

Then she says, "Don't think you've won yet, I will beat you."

She then starts glowing in a purple aura. She moves her hands up, and a large chunk of the ground levitates, the size of a mini arena.

Yuzuki gets thrown off balance because of the shaking.

Sayuri runs toward the katana that she dropped when Yuzuki hit her with the Blood Tide.

She picks it up from the ground and divides the huge chunk of ground into four parts.

Yuzuki seemed to be losing control by the minute. Enraged, she charged toward Sayuri, but she tripped on the crack that Sayuri had slashed earlier.

Sayuri used the chance; she used two of the four chunks of rock she had divided and crushed them into Yuzuki.

Then she slashed the rock slam in two with a slash.

She said, "I win, you are strong but yo..."

She is cut off by a red glow coming from the rock smash; it explodes, and blood splashes out.

Yuzuki stands there and, with a roar, rushes toward Sayuri.

She grabs her face and tightens her grip, making Sayuri squeal. Sayuri grabs Yuzuki's hand, trying to get it off.

Yuzuki smashes her through the floating ground chunk and into the ground.

Sayuri loses consciousness from the impact. Ms. Mizukawa notices and is about to call off the fight, but she sees Yuzuki charging her dagger for another stab.

She rushes toward them and yells, "Yuzuki, stop the fight, it's over." Yuzuki is far from being in control. She tries to stab her, but Mizukawa arrives on time and blocks the attack. She tries to calm her, but ends up having to knock her out.

Everyone looks in awe, trying to comprehend and understand what had just happened, except Shinryu, of course.
