Chapter 3 - [VALMORA EMPIRE]

The Jerom clan, Arest clan, Kaiser clan, Ravon clan, Alverd clan, and Damion clan were known across the continent as the Six Imperial Clans—the founders of the Valmora Empire.Every 30 years, the empire held a grand tournament to decide the new emperor. There was no difference between the rich and the poor.Only strength chose the throne.

The current emperor, Victor Suro, known as the Sin of Greed, was one of the Seven Deadly Sins, the seven strongest warriors in all of Valmora. His Luma Shape resembled a knight, and his magic—Avarus Dominion—was feared by all, though no one knew its true ability. Only its name.

Night After the Fang Announcement

The night after Lucas was declared the new Fang, he sat alone on the balcony of the Jerom family's building. The moon glowed faintly above the dark mountains, stars scattered around it like shattered diamonds. He stared at the sky, lost—frustrated, overwhelmed, but calmed by the beauty. For a moment, he even forgot the dream… forgotten the mark… forgotten that he had just been named a Fang.

Then—A noise.

Soft steps. Whispering. Metal gear clinking.

Lucas peeked over the railing and saw them:His older sister Lydia, his older brother Romeo, and their two cousins—Sarah Jerom, the beautiful blonde healer of nineteen years, and her twin brother Mike, the loud, reckless berserker with a fire axe.

All four wore hunting gear.Lucas knew exactly where they were going.Behind the mountains… hunting low-level beasts. He always watched them return with trophies—claws, fangs, corpses—but he had never gone himself.

Curiosity won.He sneaked after them.

One Hour Later — Behind the Mountains.

Lucas followed them through the trees and rocky paths for nearly an hour.He watched them fight goblins, stone golems, and ravens—creatures weak to them but incredible to him.Even though the battles amazed Lucas, the group was getting irritated.

They killed the same monsters every night. They wanted to level up.

Mike's idea, obviously.

Together, the four formed a strong party:

• Sarah – Luma Shape: Mage | Magic: Water→ heals, buffs, and reinforces their strength.

• Mike – Luma Shape: Berserker | Magic: Fire→ uses a massive axe for attack and defense.

• Lydia – Luma Shape: Archer | Magic: Ice→ fires freezing arrows that immobilize enemies.

• Romeo – Luma Shape: Warrior | Magic: Weather→ the strongest of them, though still learning to control his area-bound weather magic.

They pushed deeper… and then everything stopped.

They had reached a griffin nest.

A B-tier monster.

Even so, excitement filled their faces instantly—and they charged.

Meanwhile — Back in the Jerom Headquarters

Dante Jerom, chief of the clan, sat in his office reviewing documents. He wanted to finish quickly so he could spend the rest of the night with his children.

Suddenly—The door slammed open.

His brother, Oliver Jerom, entered without knocking. His face pale, breath sharp.

"Dante… the children aren't here."

"What do you mean aren't here!?"Dante rose from his chair, voice sharp.

Oliver swallowed. "They left… I think they went to the mountains. And…""Oliver, talk clearly.""I think Lucas went with them."

Dante froze.

Lucas—A beginner in martial arts…Barely able to hold a sword properly…Even if he had a Knight's Luma Shape, he couldn't defeat a slime, let alone anything stronger.

His heart tightened.

"Gather seven elite warriors," Dante ordered instantly. "If they went toward the high-level zones, even Romeo and Mike won't stand a chance."

The fight had already begun.

Mike conjured a fire shield, flames swirling around his axe.Sarah and Lydia combined their magic—Sara's water froze into multiple ice arrows, and Lydia formed a massive ice bow to fire them in volleys.

Romeo, faster than all of them, dashed forward. Using his weather magic, he summoned a thick fog and heavy rainfall near the griffin, blinding it.

Their teamwork was sharp—but incomplete.

They lacked knowledge.

Griffins possessed a terrifying ability:they could sense aura, instantly locating the weakest presence.

Its eyes locked onto Lucas.

The creature spread its wings and shot through the fog straight toward the boy.

Romeo didn't understand at first—until he saw the griffin diving toward his little brother. He didn't think. He sprinted with everything he had, creating more fog, more rain, more chaos.

He grabbed Lucas——but the griffin had already struck.

The fog thinned, and blood dripped onto the dirt.

Romeo's blood.

Lucas opened his eyes and saw his brother's face—one eye missing, a deep wound carved across it.

Romeo smiled weakly.Because Lucas was safe.

Then he collapsed.

Everyone froze in shock.

Lucas stared, tears falling silently—then something in him snapped.Anger surged through him.His eyes ignited in a brilliant gold, brighter than before.

He stood up.He picked up Romeo's fallen sword. And he glared at the griffin with pure hatred.

"Lucas—stop!!!"They all shouted.

But he couldn't hear them.

The griffin lunged.Lucas ran straight at it.

And then—Time stopped.

The world turned silent.Only Lucas moved.

A masked man appeared behind the frozen griffin—the same one from his dream.

"So, you unlocked the first eye… but you cannot control it yet."His voice echoed like a nightmare."You have five seconds. KILL THE CREATURE. TAKE ITS HEAD. FEEL THE BLOOD."

Lucas did not hesitate.

In a blur of movement, he struck the griffin's life core, then sliced off its head——then kept cutting.Again.And again. And again.

Time resumed with a violent rush. The others stumbled backward at the sight—Lucas drenched in blood, eyes golden then suddenly turning blue again, expression twisted with rage.

The innocent Lucas they knew was gone.Something else stared at the corpse.

Dante and his warriors finally reached the scene.

He saw Romeo collapsed, blood everywhere, a deep scar cutting across his face.He yelled for the healer instantly, though he knew old wounds could not be instantly restored.

Then he saw the others—frozen, trembling, staring in one direction.

He followed their gaze.

And saw his youngest son…still cutting the griffin, over and over, long after it was dead.

"Lucas!!"Dante ran to him, grabbing his arms, forcing him to stop.

Lucas blinked, snapping back to reality. He looked at his father—and broke down crying, believing Romeo's wound was his fault.

Then his body gave out.He collapsed, exhausted from the fury… and from using his magic for the first time.

Dante looked up at Lydia, Mike, and Sarah—his expression dark, demanding answers.

"What happened here?"
