Chapter 3 - Chapter 3: The First Step

Waiting for the group of children to leave, Asahi slumped down to the ground. He then began to call upon the Infinite System.

"Open the World Synopsis. I want to see what exactly happened in this world."

"Opened."

He sat cross-legged, one hand propping up his chin, attentively monitoring the World Synopsis and focusing on the main points. His head began to pound again.

Gastrea Virus, Gastrea, Cursed Children.

This world had, indeed, ended. Humanity failed in the Gastrea War ten years ago, and the world was torn apart. The remaining 20% of the population could only huddle together in territories behind the Monolith structures.

This was a post-apocalypse, the remnants of civilization.

If that were all, Asahi wouldn't feel his head swelling to this extent. After all, he had experienced a world full of monsters, and had even swept across the entire world once before.

Although his current power couldn't compare to that time, and he was burdened by internal restrictions preventing him from changing his state, he was at least in his Dragon Form. His power reserves were significant.

The part that truly worried him was the Cursed Children. The synopsis mentioned they were the generation of children born starting ten years ago, carrying the Gastrea Virus, but able to maintain a human form without being immediately mutated. Simultaneously, they acquired bodies much stronger than ordinary humans, regeneration capabilities like the Gastrea, and animalistic traits.

The synopsis stopped there, but Asahi keenly realized it was not as simple as it looked.

Even the name given to this generation of girls—Cursed Children—was not a good omen.

"A group of children on the outskirts of the Tokyo Area... Dammit, please don't let it be that situation!"

Asahi cursed under his breath; sometimes he disliked human imagination.

...

"Nene, are we just going to stay like this?"

Kyoko asked worriedly. Nene shook her head, causing her ponytail to sway.

Not just Nene and Kyoko, but all ten-plus other girls were nervously hiding there.

They were still observing the strange "Quasi-Human". As for the "Quasi-Human"—who wasn't a person, not a Cursed Child like them, and not a Gastrea either, yet acted like a human—it momentarily left the children unsure how to categorize Asahi. In the end, they could only call him a Quasi-Human.

Fifteen minutes passed, and the "Quasi-Human" finally began to move. He looked around, then walked over to the scrap heap nearby.

Bang!

A chilling sound rang out, making everyone jump. Asahi had swung his arm very casually, but the speed was almost beyond the perception of a normal person. Nevertheless, he controlled his strength exceptionally well, pushing the pile of scrap metal back without affecting the surroundings too much.

Right now, every bit of power was precious, and every bit was also an expenditure. To continuously maintain his Dragon Form, he had to constantly consume energy, so he limited his use of power as much as possible, restricting high-level abilities like the silver fire even more.

Finally, with a sufficiently large empty space, Asahi was somewhat satisfied. Next, under the attentive gaze of the girls, he slumped down again, as if deep in thought.

"What exactly is this Quasi-Human doing?"

Nene couldn't understand, even though she considered herself the smartest one here, which was why she was the leader of this group of Cursed Children.

Of course she couldn't understand, because Asahi was currently focused on the System.

At the last minute, he had emptied his pockets on a pile of mental and consciousness enhancement items, leaving his account balance at zero. Thus, he hoped to earn quite a lot.

Just through observation and the brief information in the synopsis, Asahi was gradually forming an image of the current world. The main enemies were threefold: the Gastrea, the struggle for survival, and ideology. The latter two could not be resolved by brute force in a typical manner.

His martial might couldn't feed those girls.

But this System could, after all, its store contained countless items he hadn't even bothered to fully browse before.

A total of three missions had been completed, and the rewards were quite savory: 15,800 accumulated points fell into his hands, transforming him from being dirt poor into a tycoon.

Although typically, if the power threshold of others with the Infinite System reached Asahi's level, no amount of points would be enough, and they would always be in a state of lack. He was different; his power came purely from the Omni Cube without any other mixed factors, which, in another sense, was a "free-to-play" path.

In conclusion, he had more than enough.

"Now, I can plan the next step."

He stood up again, exchanged a circular object from the store, and placed it on the ground.

"Activate."

Following his command, the circular object began to transform, turning into the base of a tall, long column that extended from its top surface. The column stretched towards the sky. When the height reached about ten meters, it stopped, but only halted its vertical growth. From the column's top, smaller structures began to sprout, seemingly creating a framework.

Specifically, a tent frame—a very large tent frame.

Camping Tent.

Description: A smart tent with a self-developing frame thanks to shape-shifting material. Bulletproof, bombproof, fireproof, and resistant to harmful natural conditions. Filters, automatically adjusts temperature and appropriate ventilation.

Price: 150 accumulated points.

A high-tech item, moreover, one with many different functions. But because it was a civilian item, the price was quite cheap.

The frame was finished, and special canvas sheets automatically emerged from the initial metal framework, covering the entire tent area, leaving only the front door open. This tent, as large as a two-story house, actually had two tent floors, and even windows.

He went inside and saw that the floor was also lined and not just bare earth. After that, he continued to make adjustments.

The tent was square, with two floors. He divided it into four sections, with the central column as the main support. The lower floor was the living area, and the upper floor was for resting.

Because this thing used shape-shifting material, he only needed to design it; the items he needed, such as tools and bedding, would be automatically created and arranged.

Just a few minutes later, the design was complete, and Asahi was finally fully satisfied.

But one more thing was missing.

Food Printer (Camping Set Included).

Description: By consuming energy, one can freely select and print unprocessed food types available in the selection table (Suitable options for camping).

Price: 150 accumulated points.

A total of 300 accumulated points had been spent, and Asahi didn't feel distressed at all. On the contrary, he was quite interested in the Food Printer.

In his original world, something similar existed, called a "3D printer," but comparing the two was like comparing the rudimentary stone knife of a primitive man to the finely crafted cutting machine of a modern person.
