He didn't give her time to recover. He grabbed her waist and guided her backward, pushing her down until she collapsed onto the soft pile of furs in the corner. He followed her down immediately, laying his body flat against hers, his weight crushing the air from her lungs in a way that made her gasp.
He hovered over her, his face inches from hers, savoring the panic and desire warring in her silver eyes. Then, he began to kiss her.
But not like before. This wasn't the ravaging hunger of a starving man. This was calculated, slow and deliberate.
He brushed his lips against hers, light as a feather, barely making contact. When she surged up to capture his mouth, he pulled back just enough to evade her, kissing the corner of her mouth instead. He moved to her jaw, then her ear, then back to her lips, establishing a maddening rhythm.
Fast. Slow. Hard. Soft.
