Hello, everyone.
After giving it a lot of thought over the past few days, I've come to the conclusion that MHA: Gamma will be going on an indefinite hiatus.
First of all, this is not your fault.
If there's anyone responsible for this, it's me.
I knew the current arc wasn't pleasing a good portion of the readers. I saw the comments, I saw the criticism, and honestly... I agreed with many of them. Even so, I kept writing because I thought it was just a temporary phase, that the story would soon get back on track.
But it didn't.
Over time, I realized that I had truly lost my way during this arc.
I started writing just for the sake of writing. Instead of telling a story I wanted to tell, I began trying to please everyone at the same time. Without realizing it, I ended up setting aside the most important part of all: my own enjoyment of writing.
The place where I work is a place where making mistakes can be very costly. Because of that, I ended up taking that feeling of "doing something wrong" much more seriously.
Whenever I tried to write, I started getting stressed.
I rewrote scenes, deleted entire chapters, changed my mind halfway through a chapter.
Nothing seemed good enough.
Little by little, what had always been my favorite hobby started to feel like just another source of daily stress.
I even started thinking about abandoning Gamma completely because of it.
But I don't want that to happen just because I'm stressed.
It was precisely because I realized that, that I decided to take some time to recharge.
I'd rather take a break while I still love this story than keep writing without any motivation and end up ruining something that means so much to me.
I know many people follow this fanfic, and I know many of you have built huge expectations around it.
And at first, that made me happy.
But without me realizing it, it also created a tremendous amount of pressure on me.
After all, I was no longer writing just for myself.
I was writing for thousands of people.
And that responsibility started weighing on me much more than I expected. So I need to take a step back and rest so I can recover the motivation I had when I first started Gamma.
I need to enjoy writing again.
Because, in the end, that's exactly what made this story exist.
But of course, I'm not going to stop writing.
Writing is still one of the things I love doing the most.
I just need to step away from Gamma for a while, since it's the source of the problem.
In the meantime, I'll continue working on my newest fanfic, My Hero Academia: MISFITS, since I feel much more relaxed and at ease while writing it.
Besides that, I might finally write a JJK fanfic I've wanted to make for a long time.
Jujutsu Kaisen: The Sword King.
It will be a reincarnation fanfic with an MC inspired by Ryu Han-Bin from Latna Saga (he will have the same powers and abilities as him), made mainly so I can have fun and recover my creativity without putting so much pressure on myself.
I want to apologize to everyone who felt sad after reading this chapter.
And also to those who may be angry or disappointed. I completely understand any negative reaction after this news, since I know some of you were expecting another chapter.
If anyone decides to drop the fanfic because of this hiatus, I won't stop you.
In fact, it wouldn't even be fair for me to try to convince anyone to keep waiting. Everyone decides when they want to start or stop following a story, and I completely respect that.
I just want to thank everyone who made it this far.
Thank you for every comment, every theory, every piece of criticism, every compliment, every GIF, and every moment you spent following Gamma.
You fulfilled a dream I've had for a very long time: seeing people read a story that I created.
Regardless of what happens from here on out, that's something I'll never forget.
I hope that, when I come back, I'll be able to deliver the story that Gamma truly deserves.
Until then, take care of yourselves.
And once again, thank you for everything.
See you again soon.
