When Elias knew that Soren was awake, he rushed toward Soren's room without wasting a single second. His footsteps echoed through the hall as his chest tightened with every step along with a strange sense of fear pushing him forward faster than reason.
When he reached the room and pushed the door open, he froze for a brief moment.
Inside, he saw Lyric holding Soren in his arms.
But Soren didn't look calm.
He was clearly hyperventilating. His face was pale with unfocused eyes, as if he wasn't fully aware of where he was. His fingers clutched weakly at Lyric's clothes, not even steady enough to hold on properly.
For a second, Elias felt something heavy press against his chest then, he moved.
He stepped forward quickly and gently pulled Soren away from Lyric.
His grip was careful, as if he was afraid Soren might break if he handled him wrong. Once Soren was in his arms, Elias cupped his face with both of his hands, forcing him to look at him.
