Chapter 9 - Chapter 9: Square dancing, burning my calories!

At 7 AM, the phone rang.

"Who is it?"

Yao An was a bit grumpy after being woken up.

"An'an! Something big has happened!"

Hearing that sweet voice, she came to her senses.

It was Jiang Jingya calling.

"Xiao Ya? What's wrong?"

She was a little more awake, but because she hadn't been fully asleep to begin with, the laziness in her voice was even more pronounced.

"Did the milk you gave me yesterday have hormones in it?"

Yao An paused, milk? Papaya milk?

"No, it's just milk that helps with development."

There might be magic in papaya milk that makes things bigger and stronger, but there definitely couldn't be any hormones; otherwise, her system would be a joke.

Yao An heard a sigh of relief from the other end of the phone.

Then Jiang Jingya said furtively:

"I woke up this morning feeling constricted; it must be because of the milk you gave me."

"Constricted?"

Yao An didn't quite understand.

"Oh, you're so silly... it's just... it's just that it got bigger."

Hearing her say that, Yao An belatedly realized what she meant.

Looking down, her 'steamed buns' had inflated again.

Yesterday, they were probably only a B, but after drinking four bottles of milk, the size this morning had likely reached B+.

"I knew it; I wondered why I felt a bit breathless while sleeping. I even thought I was dreaming of swimming."

She mumbled to herself, quickly adjusting the clasp at the back to a comfortable position.

Because she hadn't moved the phone away from her ear while speaking, Jiang Jingya clearly heard this, and she couldn't help but giggle.

"Haha, An'an, you're really so silly! I'm so worried you'll be tricked by a bad man after you go to university!"

After chatting with Jiang Jingya for more than ten minutes, Yao An, having lost her sleepiness, decided to go for a run outside to improve her physical fitness.

Her current state of being light-bodied, soft, and easy to push over was undoubtedly a plus for a girl, but unfortunately, Yao An wanted to be the one doing the pushing over.

After brushing her teeth and washing her face, she casually tied her hair into a high ponytail behind her head.

While choosing clothes from her wardrobe, the "Master of Clothing Matching" skill she acquired yesterday was triggered.

Her hand, which was about to reach for loose wide-leg pants and a white T-shirt, unconsciously changed direction, grabbing the slim-fit sports pants and sports vest nearby, as well as a thin, lightweight sun protection jacket.

This outfit was very soft and stretchy. When worn, it was both slim-fitting and lightweight, with a certain shaping effect, yet not as awkward as yoga pants, which can make certain sensitive areas too prominent.

Most importantly, it was very breathable, suitable for exercise.

Yao An narcissistically admired herself in the mirror for a long time, striking various slightly stiff poses.

Her body proportions were undoubtedly excellent; her wrist line passed her crotch, she had no excess fat but didn't look bony, and she could carry off most clothes.

It wouldn't be an exaggeration to say she was a natural clothes hanger; even if she wore a tattered sack, she would still look good.

Now she could understand why girls liked taking photos; who wouldn't want to capture their beautiful side?

Suzhou in the early morning was filled with some moisture, but because of the recent drop in temperature, the air was not as muggy as before, feeling somewhat cool.

This kind of weather was undoubtedly very suitable for exercise.

The facilities around Riverside Garden were complete, and the housing prices were relatively cheaper among many mid-to-high-end communities back then, so a considerable number of elderly people lived there.

It was past 7:40 AM, and many elderly men and women were doing their morning exercises.

Running, playing on pull-up bars, dancing square dances, practicing Tai Chi – the plaza was a large activity center for seniors.

Compared to the young people of today, the elderly men and women were full of vigor, seemingly with inexhaustible energy.

Yao An ran a lap around the community, not knowing if it was a thousand meters, but she was so tired that her chest heaved, and she gasped for breath, only able to bend over and lean on her knees, stopping to rest.

"Monitoring host's physical fitness: below average. Rewarding special skill: Square Dance First Movement: Burn My Calories."

???

Square dance? You call this a special skill?

Where is it special?

"Long-term square dancing combined with breathing techniques can significantly enhance the host's physical fitness."

Breathing techniques too? Why don't you suggest I join the Demon Slayer Corps?

Yao An's foxy eyes couldn't hide her peculiar expression.

And this "significantly enhance physical fitness" makes me nervous; it wouldn't turn me into Nezha, would it?

"To help the host better improve physical fitness, a long-term series of tasks will now be issued."

"Task 1: Wake up at 6 AM every morning and run for one hour."

"Task 2: Dance square dance for at least thirty minutes."

"Complete the series of tasks 7 times to receive a reward of 200 points, which can be obtained repeatedly."

"Hoo."

Yao An exhaled. Exercising for an hour was no problem; after all, she had the determination to strengthen her body. It was just this square dancing... She looked at the enthusiastic elderly men and women in the distance.

She felt incredibly out of place going to square dance with such a cool and aloof face.

"Would you like some water?"

A gentle voice came from beside her.

Yao An turned her head and saw an unfamiliar young man in his twenties standing beside her, offering her a bottle of water.

He was about 183 cm tall, wearing a short-sleeved sports outfit, and his medium-length hair was neatly styled. He was very handsome, only slightly less so than her pre-transmigration self.

However, his facial features were more chiseled, and he looked a bit mixed-race.

"No, thank you."

Yao An decisively refused, straightened up, and started walking, deciding to run another lap.

The young man wasn't embarrassed by the rejection. After standing still for two seconds, he quickly caught up.

Seeing that the other party was pestering her despite her coldness, Yao An, whose cheeks were flushed from exercise, unconsciously frowned.

"I'll be your pacesetter. If you follow my pace, it will be easier to run."

The young man probably sensed that she didn't exercise much. After saying that, he quickened his pace and ran ahead to lead.

Yao An pouted.

It was indeed easier to run with someone leading. This time, they ran about 1,500 meters, and then the two stopped to rest on a roadside bench.

The young man was not red-faced or breathless; for his physical fitness, running such a short distance was undoubtedly very easy.

Yao An, however, the little rookie, was dripping with sweat, her cheeks and slender, fair neck covered in perspiration, and the hair at her temples stuck uncomfortably to her face. She could only fan herself with her hand to relieve the heat on her cheeks.

"Next time you go for a long run, you can bring a sports water bottle. Drinking small amounts of water after running will alleviate some of the physical discomfort."

The hour of exercise ended with intermittent running and stopping, with resting time making up most of it, totaling about two kilometers.

In any case, Yao An felt her leg muscles ache and she couldn't exert much strength.

As a homebody who usually enjoyed reading novels, this amount of exercise was undoubtedly excessive.

After resting for a while, the young man actively started a conversation again.

"When you get home, you can take a hot shower. Otherwise, lactic acid will accumulate, and your muscles will be very sore tomorrow morning."

Yao An initially didn't want to bother with him, but not responding would seem impolite. After all, regardless of his intentions, so far, the young man had only shown kindness towards her.

She responded with a faint "Oh."

"I jog every morning; I haven't seen you much before. Did you just start morning exercises recently? Are you going to take a physical test?"

Heh, here it comes.

Yao An didn't intend to answer. After thanking him, she stood up and left.

Despite her coldness, the young man was not discouraged. He even felt that such an demeanor suited her temperament.

It's just the direction she's leaving in... why does it look like she's going towards the senior activity center?

Perhaps her mother is doing square dancing...
