Chapter 24 - Chapter 24: I Have Never Had a Boyfriend

"Come on, come on!"

The students of Industrial Management Class A gathered around, cheering on the two people doing push-ups in the center.

The male students supported Liu Cheng, and the female students supported the instructor, creating a lively atmosphere.

In the end, Liu Cheng did 41, and the instructor did 42.

The former had a lower body fat percentage, making push-ups relatively easier for him, but 41 was already his limit; he couldn't do even one more.

As for the instructor, he only did 42 because he simply wanted to do 42; in a competition, there's no need to surpass others by too much, just winning is enough.

Moreover, Liu Cheng's posture was no longer standard towards the end; just managing to push up counted as a success.

In contrast, the instructor still had energy left and maintained a standard posture.

The difference was clear.

The two stood confronting each other, Liu Cheng lowering his head, looking as if he found it hard to speak.

"Apologize! Why are you, a grown man, being so coy? The bet was agreed upon beforehand; don't let everyone look down on you."

Provoked by Yang Jiajia, Liu Cheng couldn't possibly not apologize, so he gritted his teeth and said, "I'm sorry."

It was clear he was still a bit unresigned.

"Can't hear you! Louder!"

Someone started to egg him on.

However, the instructor didn't press the matter; to be honest, he was in a good mood.

The feeling of dominating, those who know, know.

"That's enough."

Then, changing the subject, he shouted with full vigor:

"Everyone, line up! Next is a three-kilometer run. Everyone must complete the entire course, or you'll have an extra twenty minutes of training before dismissal!"

Everyone realized that this instructor was also quite ruthless.

The students let out a collective groan.

Not far away, Tao Lin saw this scene, pushed up her glasses, and a faint smile unconsciously appeared at the corner of her lips.

Then she turned and left...

"I'm exhausted."

Back in Dorm 404 that evening, the girls were all complaining in unison about how tiring the training was, collapsing on their beds, not wanting to move.

After showering, Yao An received a call from Liu Ying, who asked about her daughter's current situation and planned to visit her in Shanghai sometime soon.

No sooner had she hung up than Jiang Jingya called.

She said that military training was very tiring and she felt her skin had tanned.

She also said the cafeteria food wasn't very tasty, and the chicken drumsticks were not chewy, like sponges.

Furthermore, she planned to visit the University of Finance and Economics to see Yao An's living environment after military training ended.

Most of the time, Little Cake was talking, and Yao An was listening, occasionally responding with "Mm-hmm" and "Ah-ah."

After chatting for over twenty minutes and hanging up, Yang Jiajia, the bigmouth, asked with a mischievous grin:

"Was that your boyfriend calling?"

"She's a very good best friend. You should have heard a female voice from the receiver."

Jiang Jingya always spoke with great vitality, and the other people in the dorm must have heard it. Yang Jiajia was just stirring things up out of boredom.

After the events of the afternoon, her relationship with Yao An had undoubtedly become closer.

It was no exaggeration to say that Yang Jiajia now wanted to tie Yao An to herself; with one handling external affairs and the other internal, they would surely shine at the University of Finance and Economics and succeed in anything they did.

At least, that's what she thought.

Since the topic of boyfriends came up, with the girls' gossipy nature, they naturally began to inquire about the relationship status of the others in the dorm.

For example, how many people they had dated and whether they were currently single.

"I've only dated one, and we didn't even kiss. I'm still a single dog now, so if anyone has quality resources, please introduce them to me! I want to taste the bitterness of love."

Tian Yuan smiled slyly, being the first to join the conversation.

"Pfft, you're so pretty, and you've only dated one boyfriend? Who would believe that?"

"Then how many have you dated?"

Yang Jiajia's expression was slightly awkward, but she quickly puffed out her chest, looking proud.

"Only three, I guess."

Whether she had dated them or not, saying three was the right answer.

"I haven't been in a relationship."

Everyone believed Han Wenjing when she said this, given her personality.

"I have a boyfriend now, and before him, I only dated one other person."

Everyone was a bit surprised by Wu Tong's answer.

Because she dressed meticulously every day; at least from her appearance, she looked like a seasoned player in the dating scene.

"Ah? You have a boyfriend? Then that day at the bar you still..."

Tian Yuan quickly shut her mouth halfway through her sentence.

Those who hadn't gone to the bar were a bit curious about what had happened that day, but it was also awkward to ask.

Wu Tong waved her hand dismissively.

"I met my current boyfriend in middle school. We've been together for three years. He's very immature, and I've been waiting for him to mature, but I probably won't. Our relationship now exists in name only, just waiting for an opportunity to break up."

Everyone seemed a bit awkward, unsure how to comfort her.

Girls of the same age are always more mature than boys, which is why older men are so popular.

However, Wu Tong didn't need anyone's comfort; it was as if what she had just said was merely reminiscing about the past, and she had long since lost any feelings.

She changed the subject.

"Xuan Xuan, how many boyfriends have you had?"

Ye Xuan glanced at everyone and said indifferently:

"Eleven."

It was evident she didn't want to discuss this boring topic, or perhaps she was telling the truth.

Which would mean: a real-life football team of ex-boyfriends.

For an eighteen-year-old girl, this record was somewhat exaggerated.

"An'an, what about you? How many have you dated?"

"As the dorm's beauty, if you haven't dated a hundred or eighty, you're not doing justice to that captivating little face."

"I feel that with An'an's personality, she definitely wouldn't date that many, but I'd believe it if a hundred or eighty people pursued her."

"A hundred or eighty is too few! You're really underestimating the value of our dorm's beauty. I'll give you a number: eighteen hundred."

It seemed every dorm had someone who was very popular, and everyone would be closer to that person.

Yao An now played such a role; as long as the topic was related to her, everyone would unconsciously be curious and want to explore.

"I haven't had a boyfriend."

???

No one believed her.

Yang Jiajia was the first to question her.

"You're lying to us, right? You have such a beautiful face and you're not dating? That's a waste of talent!"

"No need to doubt, she's definitely lying."

"Actually, it's easy to verify. Let me check if you're still a virgin, you little Fox spirit, prepare to die!"

As Tian Yuan spoke, she was already baring her small fangs and climbing onto the upper bunk, reaching out to grab.

Yao An countered by pinning her to the bed, then wrapped her in a quilt like a zongzi.

"Everyone, come quickly! Avenge grudges, air grievances!"

As she spoke, Yao An raised her hand and spanked her bottom, somewhat as retaliation.

She had received a WeChat friend request from Yu Huai that morning.

He couldn't have known her WeChat ID out of nowhere, so there could only have been an insider in the dorm.

Judging by personality, this insider was very likely Tian Yuan.

"I'll beat you to death, you traitor!"

Yao An increased the force of her hand, slapping "pat pat pat."

Despite looking like she hadn't fully developed, the little girl actually had quite a figure.

"Wuwuwu."

The others also cast aside their previous topic, gathering around the bed to bully the poor little Tian.

Even Han Wenjing couldn't resist, gently patting the struggling human zongzi twice.

"Wuwuwu... Sister An'an, I'll never dare to challenge your authority again, please let me go!"

"So noisy."

Ye Xuan grumbled, lying on her side against the wall, scrolling through uninteresting videos.

After an afternoon of training, everyone slept very soundly that night.

The next day, Yang Jiajia was woken by her alarm, feeling a bit sore.

She turned her head and found Yao An's bed neatly made and clean, and the person was nowhere to be seen.

"Where's An'an? She didn't go buy us breakfast, did she?"

She rubbed her sleepy eyes, sprawled on the uncomfortable bed, not wanting to get up.

"Don't overthink it, she just went for her morning exercise."

Wu Tong sat cross-legged on the upper bunk, drawing her eyebrows. She had woken up earlier, so she knew where Yao An had gone.

"She was so tired yesterday, and she still went for morning exercise? She has so much energy."

"This might be why An'an has such a good figure. If I put in half her effort, I wouldn't be worrying about my tummy now."

Wu Tong was very envious but didn't want to take action...

Liu Haiping, Secretary, as the Secretary Liu, was usually diligent and responsible in her work.

However, she didn't live in the staff dormitory, which meant she arrived at the office a bit later each day.

Today, she came to work as usual and found a cup of coffee on the corner of her desk after arriving at her cubicle.

By its color, it seemed to be an Americano.

"Wende, you've changed, haven't you? You're actually willing to spend money to treat me to coffee, but don't you know I don't like Americano? Why waste the money?"

She looked at the pot-bellied middle-aged deputy director sitting opposite her, a rare smile appearing on her face.

Zhao Wende, who was sipping coffee through a straw, shook his head.

"I didn't buy it. My monthly living expenses are only 500, and I have to buy cigarettes and entertain, so where would I have spare money for this?"

Liu Haiping, Secretary was stunned.

"Then who bought it?"

"Xiao Yuan, Xiaobai? I don't know, but when I came in, there was coffee on all our desks. Maybe some student bought it."

Liu Haiping, Secretary was also puzzled.

The Youth League Committee students usually only opened the door; they wouldn't have the thoughtful idea to buy them drinks. So who sent these coffees?

She originally wanted to throw away the coffee, as its origin was unknown, and she didn't like bitter things like Americano.

But after thinking about it, she put it aside and ignored it, opening her computer to dive into work.

"You're not drinking it? If you're not, I'm taking it."

Zhao Wende asked. The coffee was bought from the cafeteria, 17 yuan a cup, which wasn't cheap for him.

"Mm, you drink it."
